JAMF at Financial Firm
What do you like best about the product?
JAMF works really well, it does what it says and allows us to unify the Windows and MAC policies, patching, imaging, software deployments, and the Software Library.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are two things I would like to see JAMF improve on. The first is the lack of historic reporting built in. The second is the response times with support and engineering could be faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Security Policies to match the Windows Group Policies and the Self Service for Software are the two largest impacting areas. In general I do not feel we could effectively manage our MAC environment without JAMF.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
JAMF is what Apple uses to manage their environment. There isn't any better endorsement than that. This is the industry standard, one of our engineers comes from IBM where they used it on thousands of systems.

What do you like best about the product?
How easy everything is, right out of the box I'm usually able to do pretty much anything I want. If I having trouble finding anything , the support and the community are really ressourceful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some of the UI elements could be better ( like modifying scripts directly from the policy settings would be something great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mostly keeping an eye on all of our devices , we had a really rapid growth in the last year and everything laptop related was still managed like a startup

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about JAMF is, The endless capabilities of control over your devices in your domain. From naming, to pushing, to whats allowed and not allowed. From profiles, to policies, to enrollment. There is nothing JAMF can't do.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I dislike is how great the customer service is. I mean come on JAMF give me a reason to dislike you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Able to solve the problem of controlling over 1500 macbooks, and 3k ipads, phones, and apple tvs. The benefits of JAMF are that everything is stream lined into simple and easy processes that allow you to manage apple devices in unique ways. They work closely with apple so they are usually on the same page with implementation.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are wondering how on earth am I going to manage all these devices, with full control. Then pull the trigger and get JAMF!
By far Jamf Pro is the Best
What do you like best about the product?
The integration of Apple Deployment programs and the simplicity of managing devices from with the console.
What do you dislike about the product?
Documentation is not always easy to follow, but the Jamf community more than makes up for it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had zero Apple device management prior to Jamf Pro. Now we have expanded beyond macOS to iOS and tvOS. The time saved by the organization by using Jamf Pro has been astounding.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
We ran a side by side comparison between Jamf Pro and another MDM, Jamf Pro was easier to use and made the selection quite easy.
Excellent Management Tools for macOS
What do you like best about the product?
The automation aspects for managing Macs in the government. The UI is above and beyond the competition.
What do you dislike about the product?
All the bugs of recent releases! There needs to be more openness on the engineer level to support restrictions the government requires on JAMF servers. Make it easier to set time out settings for the console. When you have more tabs open and are working on a script, a timeout can be horrible and your updates always revert the setting. Add more customizations for prestage enrollment splashes.

Hardening, imaging, etc..
My experience with JAMF Pro
What do you like best about the product?
I have been using Jamf since version 4.0. It has professed and gotten better with every release. Jamf works hand-in-hand with Apple, and is ready for day 1 releases of new operating systems. That is a tall order considering Apple revamps the OS every year. On top of keeping current with Mac O, Jamf keeps the iOS management tools current as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's nothing to dislike. If I need to get assistance with an issue, the Jamf tech line has always been helpful. If the front line folks don't have an answer right away, my issues are escalated to a veteran engineer and I get the help I need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I first came into my current Admin position, we had no idea the scope of how many we had of what. From desktops, laptops, to versions of operating systems. With Jamf being able to inventory everything we can find and generate the reports we need, we've been able bring older OSs current and refresh computers that are no longer upgradable. We've been able to deploy updates after hours and steam line the roll out of new hardware.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Inventory, reporting and the Self Service app make my job much easier to do.
Great product support sucks
What do you like best about the product?
The product is great, it allows us to make and manage all of the policies and configurations we need.
What do you dislike about the product?
Support. Whenever we have any issues it is very difficult to get support even that we are paying for premium support.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Previous to Jamf I was using a Mac configure as a server now with this cloud solution makes everything easier and the changes apply asap, love it.

Take the introduction class. It is very helpful.

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to use and how new features have an explanation right in Jamf Pro
What do you dislike about the product?
How you are required to pay for premium support. Basic support sometimes takes a long time to get a problem solved.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Jamf Pro, helps our students focus more on their classwork, as teachers have their classes appear for them in Apple Classroom, allowing teachers to maximize their teaching time

Fantastic solution for Apple MDM
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use interface makes it easy to know what you are doing and what devices it is going to. Tons of different options between Policies, Configuration Profiles, Smart Groups, and more.
What do you dislike about the product?
Patch management is a bit tricky - at times it doesn't seem to report versions correctly. Understandable though, as it's still in the early stages.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Makes set up of computers a breeze and empowers the end user.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Using a cloud based MDM solution has an incredible number of benefits. It is well worth it to invest in this management environment to make set up and management easy for your entire team.
It does what I need it to do and more
What do you like best about the product?
Managing 18000 iPads in a school district would be impossible with out. The profile setup is top notch.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much to complain about it makes my life way easier.

App assignments for individuals along with groups. All easy to take care of remotely.

If you are managing macOS or iOS or iPad OS, Jamf Pro is a must. Save your time and use Jamf Pro.
