Powerful, but easy to use
What do you like best about the product?
JAMF Pro is easy to get started with basic policies and just infinitely flexible to really get granular with how you want to build out your mobile device management experience. Reporting in JAMF is one of the best features, as is the same-day support for new operating systems. The hosted version of JAMF Pro is very solid and I cannot think of any real downtime we've had with it. Deploying apps are a breeze, especially with the App Store and building out policies is dare I say fun and useful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jamf Pro can be a little difficult to set up the first time. There is required training and onboarding that you must do. I wish it was more of an appliance when getting it set up like Apple Business Essentials. I wish the JAMF Apps that they host supported more than just 1x smart group at this time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
JAMF Pro helps us to inventory, track, manage, patch, and secure our Apple devices at my college. Not having to be on our internal network is great because it allows us to meet people where they are in life with technology and use it to improve their experience.
Great solution to manage my macOS fleet
What do you like best about the product?
It's pretty quick to deploy an application using Jamf once you get the hang of it. I like how fast the Self-Service Center updates as well as the configuration profile deployment.
What do you dislike about the product?
The documentation should have more hands-on examples. I would be extremely happy if would be possible to download a package once you have uploaded it to Jamf, ti should have that option.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problem of having different macOS versions. With Jamf I was able to upgrade 97% of our Mac fleet to Monterey. Also, with Jamf, I am able to deploy software using a process as consistent as the one I use on the Windows side.

What do you like best about the product?
Very user-friendly and great support from the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
No in-person classes for JAMF200. I learn more in person.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a ticket with Jamf about Apple IDs not showing as active.
JAMF Pro is an extremely powerful macOS management system!
What do you like best about the product?
It makes life easier for Apple IT administrators (easy to utilize and has abundant resources available). Our users appreciate having the Self Service portal. Thank you!
What do you dislike about the product?
At this time, I haven't found any downsides to utilizing JAMF beyond cost. As a technology department, we are responsible for being good stewards of district funds, and costs can be prohibitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It was a simplified device management system that allowed our users to intuitively access apps, printers, etc. It has been a huge time saver for us. Performance has increased!

The inability to see what static and smart groups are assigned to which policy or configuration profile.

It is providing management of Macbooks and iMacs within our district that we didn't have control over.

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf Pro makes Apple Enterprise management easier. Being able to deploy zero-touch deployment is a fantastic experience for IT and employees. Jamf is continually adding features to Jamf Pro, making it the best product on the market. My favorite new feature is the Jamf App Catalog, which makes patch management effortless and automated.
What do you dislike about the product?
Jamf Pro requires an extensive setup, which makes it the most robust product on the market, but it can also take quite a bit of time to set up your policies, configuration profiles, smart groups, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf Pro assists us with zero-touch deployment in a remote working world by taking a process that would take days and cutting it down to minutes. Jamf Pro automates patch management and updates for us. Jamf Pro helps us stay in compliance with audits.

What do you like best about the product?
Jamf is such a useful and creative service for IT professionals managing macbooks and iOS devices. Whether you operate at a small business or enterprise level their tools can help you acomplish almost any task imaginable! They also have wonderful support reps that are always ready to take your call when you need a little extra help.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have yet to have a bad experience with Jamf. They are always very helpful and patient with requests. They even offered me a discount on my onboarding processs to help sweeeten the deal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have many remote employees working from other states and it is incredibly helpful for me to be able to manage their devices from afar. Even for my in house employees I am able to manage programs and proceedures more efficiently.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how simple Jamf is. Being able to automate complex processes is made easy. I also love the API (I still mostly use the classic) and the automation/ scripts I've been able to do through that.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the more frustrating parts of Jamf for me is the lack of hyperlinks. In policies, if you associate a script with a policy, you can't click into the script or edit it there. You have to back out of the policy and go through settings to access scripts. I would like to see more features able to be accessed from other places within Jamf like that.
I'd also really like Jamf to have better built-in tools for macOS updates/ alerts around updates. We have written custom scripts to notify users they need to update or set update policies. It would be great if there were more out of the box solutions from Jamf around that though. Would also be cool if you could use video or images in jamf helper notifications, like the IBM notifyer.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Inventory management issues at our org. Our helpdesk team isn't always the best at getting down serial numbers or MacBook model versions into our inventory system. Using the Jamf API, we're able to pull the correct info from the devices inventory record into our other systems.
Implementing Jamf Pro Has Eliminated Hours of Overtime
What do you like best about the product?
My favorite feature of Jamf Pro is that policies can be used to push software anytime. When a teacher requests new software for a class, we no longer have to wait for the classroom to be free.
What do you dislike about the product?
My least favorite part is Jamf Remote being removed. It had been a beneficial utility for pushing a script or package to individual computers without having a local copy or manually triggering a policy.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having Jamf Pro has eliminated hours of overtime that had been standard for every semester prep. Before Jamf Pro, it took weeks to build images and reset a dozen classrooms and labs, with at least two days of work for each classroom. We can now update our software in a day and reset all our classrooms and labs in one or two days.
The right choice for Apple MDM
What do you like best about the product?
Jamf provides an enormous amount of flexibility in how Apple macOS and iOS devices can be managed. It plays nice with Apple's Business/School Manager and completes the workflow for keeping purchased devices managed no matter what happens to them. The scalability from a few dozen to several hundred devices has been relatively straight-forward.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a steep learning curve when you get to the advanced use cases for the product. Fortunately, there is a community of Jamf admins who are willing to share knowledge and help one another out. Creative solutions abound when browsing the Jamf Nation community.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Jamf helps us maintain student computer labs uniform and ready for student use. From installing applications to managing which settings can be accessed by students, we are able to provide a consistent experience for our students, meeting the expectations of our teachers.
