Use cases are vast, any environment can benefit from LM
What do you like best about the product?
The amount of monitoring capabilities and the web portal functionality/uptime is exceptional. We have been using LM on a global scale utilizing vm collectors and have not had one portal outage. the scale of our environment is ~2500 devices that we monitor and the portal performance and load times are exceptional.
What do you dislike about the product?
downsides of using logicmonitor is the learning curve and resources needed to manage it in order to make it a valuable tool. That is by the nature of monitoring in general so the downsides are minimal when comparing to other vendors.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visibility into our network that we simply cannot get out of a static CMDB. Actionable alerting and customized alert routing fits all of the complex needs for global network monitoring and alerting.

One of the standout features of LogicMonitor is its effortless setup process. Within minutes, I was able to connect and monitor multiple devices, servers, and cloud environments without any technical hurdles. The platform's auto-discovery capabilities proved invaluable, automatically detecting and adding relevant devices to my monitoring infrastructure. This streamlined approach saved me considerable time and effort.
The sheer breadth of supported technologies impressed me greatly. LogicMonitor caters to a wide range of systems, including servers, networks, applications, databases, and even cloud platforms like AWS and Azure. Regardless of the complexity or diversity of your IT environment, LogicMonitor's versatile monitoring capabilities ensure that no critical component is left unmonitored.

User Interface Customization: While LogicMonitor offers some level of customization, particularly with dashboards and reports, there is room for further enhancement in terms of user interface customization. Providing users with more flexibility to personalize the interface layout and design according to their preferences would be a valuable addition

Great product for monitoring logs and containers
What do you like best about the product?
It's ability to find the logs and anamolies in a fraction of second that too by reading millions of lines is amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing much to dislike but some of of the features like connection of backend database etc can be added to further enhance the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cloud infrastructure monitoring and reading log files across multiple systems was a huge task and multiple human intervention was required all the time. We are amazingly thankful to the product developers.

It has has several downsides which include:
The customization process is complex.
It needs internet connection to be used.
The pricing is sometimes high for some people which is discouraging.

Great product for Cloud and Container monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
It's ability to discover and monitor Cloud and container based workloads. Out of the box monitoring templates with best practice thresholds. It is also reliable.
What do you dislike about the product?
Certain types of customisations can be more difficult than in other products. Main thing is lack of access to backend database, which makes reporting challenging. In general reporting options are limited. SNMP trap support is very basic too.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The main benefit is visiblity of our cloud and container workloads. We can get a lot of data in a central place and apply alerting based on that. Out of the box alerts are keeping our infrastructure available and performing well.
LogicMonitor has great info to display but it's not the easiest setting things up.
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to have devices in multiple groups is very helpful (i.e. a firewall can be in a 'North Carolina' group as well as a 'security' group)
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a lot to get set up. On set up, it takes some time getting used to with how things are done but once you get used to it, it's very helpful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We replaced a different Monitoring system and this has been a great replacement. We are able to see a lot more in detail to our devices. It also gives detail related to UC servers as well.
Great monitoring tool but not for everyone
What do you like best about the product?
I like how much customization there is available for configuring alerts and monitoring on LogicMonitor. I love the organization of the folders as well.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that resources auto-expand when selecting them since depending on how many datapoints are in that resource - it can easily make your list a lot longer and harder to navigate around when all you wanted to do is SSH into the device for example.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows us to monitor client devices in all aspects (CPU, memory, network, etc.) for how we want/need to. It also allows for endless opportunities to customize how alerting occurs.
