Knowledgeable, friendly techs and PMs - easy to work with
What do you like best about the product?
Friendly implementation staff, easy to work with. Flexible scheduling of work sessions. Product monitors most everything automatically.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the tech goes a bit too fast in the working sessions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring globally.
Very easy to use, but feature rich
What do you like best about the product?
The two things I like most are the ability to set up custom graphs that can be shared with other teams, and remote access to systems via ssh. This has removed the need for an externally accessible out of band network management.
What do you dislike about the product?
The thing is don't like is the change of style when opening the exchange. I would also say that some of the features are overly complex and could benefit from a simplified layout.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not having to rely on an open-source NMS platform then crashes and requires rebuilding. Getting text alerts and integration with Freshdesk. Access to monitoring offnet.
They have a strong product with strong support and sales behind it.
What do you like best about the product?
Their training was excellent. They have a great online resource for help and support
What do you dislike about the product?
Overall they have a great product. There is not much to dislike.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are trying to unify all the monitorings we have for different products. The logic monitor allows for that.
Technology Consultant
What do you like best about the product?
Flexible setup, using agent-less and also available setting up specific logins for my legacy systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't hit any real limitations. Coming for a BMC patrol setup, I am looking for same/similar script execution triggered by an event.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Not sure if it really a problem, but having IBMi datasource that Dynatrace has, jobq / system monitoring... once I getting into LM datasource I think I will be able to setup needed triggers / alerting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Datasources for Mainframe and IBMi
Great monitoring solution
What do you like best about the product?
I like their ease of monitoring and autodiscovery
What do you dislike about the product?
They could really get rid of some quirks with their Meraki monitoring
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have seen a great amount of insight into services we didn't even know we had running
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you can support the collectors in your infrastructure and they can talk to what needs to be monitored
The Logic of Monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of the initial setup for the application
What do you dislike about the product?
The complexity of the configuration, after the initial setup
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can troubleshoot issues faster with LogicMonitor. We have been able to get to problems sooner because of the alerting configured in LogicMonitor.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend LogicMonitor if you are looking for something easy to configure the initial setup. If you are skilled in GO or Powershell, then making configuration changes will be easy.
LogicMonitor: Finally a SaaS monitoring solution that fits what I need
What do you like best about the product?
In roughly half a day, I was able to get all my required servers added to the product and start seeing valuable data. I was able to replace our old monitoring solution within a few days. The reporting tools made it easy to confirm that I had all my resources added to the platform. The sheer amount of data that we pull with very little configuration is fantastic. Data I would not think to pull is in the platform and I was actually able to solve issues in a workload because LogincMonitor automatically pulled in the data.
The web interface loads quickly, there is very little waiting time to populate the page. I can get started on what I need to do and not suffer from wait times as the page loads.
The built-in alerts are fantastic! The other solutions I've used typically collect the data. Then I go in manually and create alerts on what I want to see. With LogicMonitor, I have hundreds of built-in, pre-configured alerts ready to go with the ability to tune a single object, a group, or the entire organization.
The POC and onboarding team was accommodating during the POC. They are the best team I've ever worked with in any POC.

What do you dislike about the product?
The user interface does require a little bit of time to get use to. But after a week, I was able to click through and find what I needed.
Some tasks are not straight forward. Adding wmi credentials is easy when you know the process. But adding WMI credentials was not apparent.
In general, some of the tasks\configurations are not obvious on how you configure\impliment.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We had three problems we wanted to solve with a monitoring solution:
Stop managing the monitoring software and start using the software.
Get valuable data on our environment.
Get useful alerts on our environment.
In our old monitoring solution, we spent more time making sure the software stack was working than time spent fixing issues it would report. With LogicMonitor, we were able to go from an on-prem app to a SaaS solution. With our old solution, we had someone dedicate 10-15 hours a week to ensure the product kept working. With LogicMonitor, we don't commit extra time to the application. Our team now puts those 10-15 hours of work, making our environment more valuable for the business.
We had a situation with a SQL server this past week where batch processing took four times longer than its average run. I loaded the resource in LogicMonitor and found high latency and high Disk Queues. This system was a recent on-prem to cloud migration that we just started the production workload. The data LogicMonitor had on the resource made it simple to justify changes to the environment to increase performance. LogicMonitor collected valualbe data about our environment and we made data backed choices to improve our environment.
The built in alerts gave us in sights into our environment that we did not have. The alerts are useful, they show the trend that lead up to the alert, then they even give tips on how to resolve the the alert. My prior system would through so many false alarms that we eventually stopped reacting to them. With LogicMonitor, we have fine tuned our alerts so we know we need to look into the issue. Its been a great improvment.
