Excellent Tool for Staying on Top of Things
What do you like best about the product?
It's pretty easy to configure and to set up notifications. It's nice to get alerted quickly when things go down and to see in the morning via email the up/down status of devices on the network.
What do you dislike about the product?
You may have to use LogicMonitor for infrastructure and have a separate solution for things like software license/expirations, and backup status. It would be nice to have an "all in one" solution for everything that needs to be watched.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LogicMonitor allows us to know, sometimes before the client notices, that there is a device down or an Internet connectivity problem so we can respond quickly.
LM is full Monitoring solution

Recommendations to others considering the product:
complete solution
Excellent Software backed with Professionals who are very responsive and knowledgeable
What do you like best about the product?
There are so many utems, Id have to say the UI is what I like best from a SAAS POV.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say it isn't free which is to be expected.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Having a Distrubuted Monitoring Solution.
Untraditional usage, translate to big wins.
What do you like best about the product?
The interface and alerting systems are what make the impact for us.
What do you dislike about the product?
Your reps can push for further opportunities more that maybe you’d like, but in the end it’s because they are doing their job making sure the people who can benefit from this know about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Network outages, and the time to fix them have been cut significantly.

Capable coding engine in the heart of your concerns...
What do you like best about the product?
LogicMonitor offers me the ability to capture pretty much any metric that is available on the wire, at the pace I need it. Thereafter, I can shift that data securely across the Internet, into a secure Cloud facility and that allows me to put that on a connected device anywhere in the world. The capability that appeals to me most is the ability to code at the Collector (as it is called) to call out to the target resources to pull data from (say) an API, or through WMI or any other interface that is accessible. With no need to install anything on the target device, the Collector is re-using a capability already available; usually the impact of this is minor. The configuration of the Collector is also held in the Cloud so when I lose the Collector, I simply spin up a fresh build O/S install the Collector, the Cloud updates with configuration and data starts to flow... it is robust!
What do you dislike about the product?
My one dislike so far (and one could say that I had to search to find something I disliked) is that the dashboarding facility (very extensive) perhaps doesn't make the most use of a large display unit. Compare to some other dashboards available in various products, my opinion is that I could fit a whole lot more into the screen. However, I have a work around for this which has been to create my own skin to the problem and pull the available widgets through to the layout that I require. Considering that my customers, those that consume the data, only want a few metrics and a graph, this problem is mute anyway.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
1. Secure extraction and retention of data.
2. Conversion of data, indicating problem states into Incidents managed by Service Now.
3. Retrospective trend analysis for capacity and workload management, including cost savings within Cloud tenants.
4. Proactive predictions of failures.
5. Heuristic, comparative and statistical reporting comparing all of my clients' data streams for the benefit of all.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider the extensive capability of being able to author your own Logic Modules to collect the data you require.
LogicMonitor Review
What do you like best about the product?
It is has a great UI and is very intuitve and feature rich, with tonnes of good documentation
What do you dislike about the product?
WMI and WINRM data sources can timeout a lot with not a lot of information reported as to why this happens and the LMCP exam was very difficult for what it is.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Monitoring a vast server estate with thousands of virtual machines and with this we are able to view all this information in one location the dashboards section, from here we can use the alert system and escalation paths to alert us when our thresholds are hit and escalte as required, trimming our response times to incidents.
Excellent tool for general monitoring, but room for improvement
What do you like best about the product?
LogicMonitor (LM) can alert on a WIDE range of criteria.
LogicMonitor is very flexible.
For example, one can monitor the free disk space of VMware physical storage, operating system configuration, cloud items, network performance, etc.

What do you dislike about the product?
LogicMonitor lags behind competitors like Auvik in network mapping, user interface, and general usability.
Auvik has a simpler interface and is more intuitive for network device backups, monitoring, alerting, management, and the like. LogicMonitor would benefit from a better network map (diagram) generation / tool.
LogicMonitor would benefit from a refreshed user interface (UI).
(In its defense, LogicMonitor can alert on a wider range of criteria, compared to Auvik, and is more flexible.)

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
LogicMonitor protects our clients' on premises and cloud systems from downtime or poor performance.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider your integrations. Obtain a trial to test the functionality.
** Invest the time upfront to setup the tool as desired ** this is the biggest failing of many companies with LogicMonitor, or other similar products.

Consistent and customisable
What do you like best about the product?
Consistent and customisable, LogicMonitor offers an excellent user experience. For our use case, IaaS provider distributed along several data centers and geographically dispersed it is a must have.
API's and integrations work seamlessly after correctly set up.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some functionalities are not system wide and limited (Tokens in widget names come to mind).
Also for our use case the 'Widget exceeds the instance limit' comes up a bit too often. It's understandable there needs to be a compromise between number of instances and dashboard/widget performance, but there could be some room for customisation.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Instant deployment of internal and customer dashboards.
Instant info on several datapoints across time provides an excellent troubleshooting tool.

Was able to transition to LogicMonitor quickly without issue. Very easy to learn and use.
What do you like best about the product?
LogicMonitor definitely puts the LOGIC in LogicMonitor. It is very customizable and able to tailor to our needs. The API works great so we can integrate our other tools. Chat support is pretty effective. We were able to deploy quickly thanks to the SN CMDB integration and a talented in-house developer along with a LogicMonitor team that was able to steer us in the right direction.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sizing and tuning the collectors has been more challenging than expected.
Sometimes it would be easier to have a quick call from a Chat support session.
There aren't a lot of dislikes.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Better monitoring, less false-positives, very intuitive and easy to use. All of our engineers can navigate easily for troubleshooting and diagnostic purposes when troubleshooting. Monitoring can be very broad or very granular to suit our needs. Able to monitor for our standards and compliance needs. We just deployed so we are just scratching the surface.
Intutive tool that helps make my job easier
What do you like best about the product?
Flexible dashboards that can present a large amount of data in a simple view. It's ability to work with a wide range of protocols and straight forward interface for creating your own custom logic modules. The frequent updates and improvements to the platform, and the integrated chat support with quick response times. Easy user administration that provides me confidence in the user access to a distributed customer user base. The ability to grant view permissions of the logicmodules to my engineering team for transparency on how they function which has resulted in less time I have to investigate and explain to the team.
What do you dislike about the product?
A brief list of items I've discussed with the LogicMonitor team where I know improvements are in development:
Lack of dark mode in current release.
Lack of configurable conformation prompts when device groups are moved via drag and drop.
No current ability to adjust polling intervals at the device group level.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've worked with LogicMonitor for over a year and have had many great interactions with their support on ways to improve the platform in a way that makes sense for my team as well as help identify areas the platform can improve that will not only benefit my team but all LogicMonitor users. This ranges from specific use cases in my teams instance to reduce alert floods during events to identifying specific unsupported encryption protocols the LogicMonitor team is now working to support in the near future.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider simple design implementations to scale into better use of dynamic groups.
