LM Tool Greatness
What do you like best about the product?
The easy and fast way to implement monitoring for all kind of win, linux and six systems.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would not call this a dislike, but an improvement that us needed. When new features and ways to monitor I dont see much training courses available.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I brought in LM I was trying to resolve multiple infra oos issues that the NOC kept seeing. We also were being informed by customer base about incidents before we knew about or outages.
Logic Monitor the Noisy friend i hate to love
What do you like best about the product?
The Alerts and detail on one click, Availability to shape the monitoring to how you network looks. Topology feature is great and keeps building with you company.
What do you dislike about the product?
The product is robust and takes a while to get going but once tuned its works great.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The small details that they giver per each endpoint which help evaluate the products you are monitoring and the networks as well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great aProduct very in depth good support
A review of LogicMonitor from a Network Admin
What do you like best about the product?
LogicMonitor is relatively straightforward to deploy in an organization. No agents are required on monitored endpoints, so this significantly simplifies the implementation. There are several built-in DataSources in the product, so we get a lot of useful information and monitoring right away. For things we want that aren't built-in, LogicMonitor has been the most responsive vendor, diligently working to find a solution, or being honest about their limitations.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the limitations I have found is that if you want to monitor several different types of network interfaces in the same widget on a dashboard, this isn't supported, which is a central need of the NOC. For example, you cannot combine serial and Ethernet interfaces if you are using both. This is a minor thing, though. From our experience so far, this product seems geared more toward servers and hosts and isn't as strong on the network monitoring side. There are features we would still like to see added in order to truly compete with other vendors who have been in the field longer.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the major pushes of our IT organization is how to be a more proactive team. We want to see issues as they are forming or as they happen and get to the point where we are notifying the business of the issue and that we're responding to the alerts, rather than relying on the business to notify us when they are having a problem. LogicMonitor is helping us get there, with customized DataSources that alert us in a proactive way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are using another product for monitoring networking equipment, make sure you vet out LogicMonitor in a solid proof of concept trial to make sure it will meet all your needs.
Easy to set up, simple to use, great support
What do you like best about the product?
Makes finding anomalies in systems (logs) look very easy, pretty much does all the work for you, and can be taught new stuff easily on the run. Can go through large amounts of data with no problems. Software is updated regularly, and user feedback is taken seriously.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not many downsides to really mention, actually can't think of any at the moment... It's not free?
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Don't have to set up complex rules for log monitoring, or spending hours going through log files manually.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try, it's easy to set up.
Good product. Easy to get going for infrastructure monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
Fairly out of the box for basic network and infrastructure monitoring. Cloud based so minimal infrastructure to make this work on my end.
What do you dislike about the product?
More complex configurations aren't as easy. I wish there was better APM capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Proactive monitoring of network and infrastructure
Recommendations to others considering the product:
APM - application and log monitoring. APIs for pushing and pulling data via Python, etc.
A Simple To Use, Monitoring System That Pretty Much Does It All
What do you like best about the product?
The easy to create dashboards, the excellent support, and the ease of adding and configuring devices.
What do you dislike about the product?
LogicMonitor wasn't able to support our SAN out of the box, LogicMonitor still had the ability to report on this, after writing a custom data source.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed a solution that gave us the status of our entire network and to solve problems before they happen.
Great customizable monitoring solution
What do you like best about the product?
Although LogicMonitor is an off the shelf and ready to use product, it is very customizable to fit your monitoring needs. Support is very good and very technical when it comes to creating specialized alerts such as monitoring specific windows events or integrating with APIs from our storage vendor.
What do you dislike about the product?
Customizations can be tricky and often require experience in groovy scripting.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Knowing about problems before the business does. The dashboards are also a big win for NOC displays and our executives love them. The more people start using the product and relying on the features, the easy it is to get budgeted.
Great product for monitoring and trending
What do you like best about the product?
Uptime and reliability have been top notch and the integration with both on-premise and cloud environments is amazing.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is a bit "clunky" and setting up alert profiles can be a bit confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use LogicMonitor to monitor all of our production and internal IT assets across multiple clouds and hosting providers. It allows us to have a single pane of glass that we can build dashboards on and provide information to all of our internal teams.
Effective anomoly recognition
What do you like best about the product?
Unomaly offers great support both technically and with product success. They really put a lot of effort into helping us get value from the system.
We feel quite confident about adding lots of sources into Unomaly without needing to worry that this will result in a large increase of false positives. Even extremely spammy logs are quite fine to add to Unomaly.
We get alerted on Slack so it's pretty quick to monitor the alerts.

We get alerted on Slack so it's pretty quick to monitor the alerts.
What do you dislike about the product?
We found it difficult to integrate into our existing processes. Unomaly does have some linkages to external stuff, but we didn't have any proactive anomaly detection process in place.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have a product that is built from several interlinking systems. Problems reported by users are not always directly attributable to a particular service. Unomaly helps to aggregate logging and detect potential problems.
It's also been useful with security stuff because irregular actions are also flagged up.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider how you will bring its reports into your existing support processes.
Flexible and informative
What do you like best about the product?
Fairly easier to setup and configure a comprehensive NOC style dashboard.
What do you dislike about the product?
Currently unable to suppress alerts on devices "chained" behind down devices. So if for example a switch wit ha server connected to it goes down you get alerts for both.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have 2 NOC style boards monitoring system up status and are able to quickly determine when critical devices go offline.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out. Their support alone has been exceptional.
