A great software for monitoring the health and uptime of any kind of machine
What do you like best about the product?
We use LogicMonitor as our alerting system for our institution. We have multiple branches that come back into a central location as well as many core mission critical servers. As such we have alerts setup that notify IT staff of any critical communication failures. This allows us to be immediately aware of any communications or hardware failures. Often we are working on fixing the issue before end users have reported it.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface can be a little confusing as far as how to add the different statistics (CPU, memory, Hard disk, etc.) but it has been improving over time. They do provide some training videos and their support is willing to help you out.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted a solution that would alert us if critical equipment or communication lines had failed. LogicMonitor provides us with this solution with flying colors. With it's help we have helped maintain downtime for our users to a minimum.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you need a solution that provide you with alerting and reports as far as hardware usage statistics for critical infrastructure then LogicMonitor is something you'll want to consider.
LogicMonitor does what it says on the tin
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity in software is amazing, you don't need a lot of experience and you can work a lot of things out. Support is always on the ball and will always help you and even create widgets for you to copy/use.
What do you dislike about the product?
The way they sell the amount of devices is awkward. There is a big jump between 100 then 250 devices. That's a very big price jump. Need more variations in between those numbers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Any issues with servers, such as exchange back pressure. Switching alerts such as changes to Spanning tree. VPN connectivity of firewalls and VPN concentrators.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely worth the trial. Quite pricey and awkward number of device counts. Very worthwhile for large organisations though. Provides a lot of transparency for your network which is what you need.
Simplify Infrastructure Monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
Configuration takes a lot of work, but once configured, deployment is a breeze. End to end visibility.
What do you dislike about the product?
Only one time zone can be configured. Managing Alerts gets messy when devices from different time zones send alerts. Setting Alert Rules Priority is a hassle since rules are based on the number you assign to it, and if you allocate duplicate numbers, alerts may go nowhere.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We get alerted proactively as soon as a threshold is breached.
Cloud cost can creep up gradually. LogicMonitor allows us to monitor the cloud cost using various dashboards.

Reliable system monitoring
What do you like best about the product?
There is a certain peace of mind in knowing that I will be alerted if anything goes wrong with any of the systems we monitor
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface could definitely be more intuitive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work for an MSP managing a large number of servers for our clients, LogicMonitor allows us to be proactive on incidents like servers being down, running low on disk space, high memory utilization and monitor for a huge number of other issues so that we can address the problem before the customer even knows there is one.

TekTegrity's LogicMonitor Review
What do you like best about the product?
In depth monitoring of nearly any device without setting up a dedicated appliance and failover collectors.
What do you dislike about the product?
Auto discovery of devices could be expanded and a wider depth of hardware coverage out of the box without customization..
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Hardware failures and disaster alerting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Expensive product but pays itself off due to early disaster notifications and predictive failures.
LogicMonitor Review
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility of the platform to meet various monitoring and alerting requirements, such as custom SQL queries or execution of scripts to pull data points, has become a go to in our business operations. Paired with the flexibility of using the solution without requirements of private connectivity to each network or application that we want to monitor, the platform has become the base of all our business critical monitoring. When I see our sales staff using the reports and graphs to make business decisions with our customers, you know you have found solution that matching your business needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
We don't dislike a whole lot and really I think its better stated that we are just waiting for some features to be release rather than dislike something about the platform. Event correlation and dependency mapping are some features we are looking forward to showing up in the system to help drive efficiencies on the alerting side of our operations.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
TekLinks originally had 6 separate monitoring solutions trying provide both in house and customer based monitoring and alerting. We use LogicMonitor to consolidate all our internal operations into one central platform as well as establish go to market platform used in our managed services offerings. We have successfully transitioned to LogicMonitor and retired our old systems and provide the platform with all our managed infrastructure and application solutions. By providing the solution in various customer offerings, we are able to show transparency to our customers about our technical operations as well as provide clear lines of feedback about potential growth and needs as businesses evolve.
LogicMonitor
What do you like best about the product?
Cloud based. No onsite infrastructure to maintain outside of the LM hubs. Utilizes standard protocols to monitor infrastructure. As its internet based, setting up hubs outside the corporate network very easy. No VPNs, opening firewalls, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Interface takes a little getting used to but is pretty intuitive after some time in use. Dashboards are a little limited and difficult to get the actual information you want to display. Forecasting needs work.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
No onsite infrastructure makes backend support simple. No need to worry about monitoring going down and missing alerts.

As we continue to participate in the enterprise space as an MSP, we found ourselves with software which did not fit the model we needed to provide to our clients. We had a business problem and needed a partner which not only could exceed them but also take ownership of new technologies, methods of monitoring and management, all while keeping the 'customer first' approach in mind.
Not only do we feel valued as a client, we are consistently impressed with LogicMonitor and their dedication in being a leading driver in the Network Monitoring world.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give LogicMonitor and their team a legitimate shot. Ask about roadmap and comparisons to other products in the market to give yourself a level playing field of analysis when making a decision valuable to your business.
Technical Operations Manager
What do you like best about the product?
It is so easy to configure and use, though it can be daunting if you get too deep, too quickly. But the documentation and support will always come to your rescue quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
Looking forward to more improvements in Dashboarding and Reporting. Would really like to see a report or feature around asset management.
Also, part of the problem such a full-featured product is that the initial tuning required is extensive to get a handle on.

We are an MSP. We use LogicMonitor to alert us to issues in customer environments before the customer is aware of them. We have integrated LM into our case management system, allowing us to prioritize our responses and get LM under our Response SLA umbrella. We have begun using it for business intelligence gathering, allowing one client to identify two underperforming locations with rock-solid evidence. They are now slated for closure, which will improve the client's P&L.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look for an MSP that already has it set up, and contract with them. While it's easy to set up, it takes time. There are so many data points per device that take time to master. An MSP has it already mastered, and can further simplify your implementation process. They know what questions to ask, can share war stories and lessons learned, and bring best practices to your environment much more quickly.
One of the best most flexible monitoring solutions we have used
What do you like best about the product?
The flexibility of what can be monitored, how alerting is routed and the many, many options for dashboard widgets make for a a very customizable tool. LogicMonitor is continuously adding new datasources and is very responsive to requests for new items.
What do you dislike about the product?
The support team appears to be mostly in another geography so there is some lag in response to support requests.
The Windows Event Log alerting, although limited by what is available in Windows, tends to generate a significant amount of "noise" alerts making it a bit more difficult to see legitimate alerts in the midst of the large number of entries. We are working on tuning the process but it is a bit of an effort.

We are a manged services provider so need to monitor multiple customers' systems from various locations. We have implemented LogicMonitor to monitor and alert for all network, VMware and Citrix devices along with several "one-off" items. We are also able to create custom dashboards for customers where they can view status and metrics for their specific environment.
