Dataminr sets the gold standard with their platform and sterling customer service

What do you like best about the product?
Dataminr is an excellent tool for any security operations center. The platform is very user-friendly. Once the desired settings are in place, the notifications definitely have the edge in terms of immediate information gathering. The Dataminr team also provides excellent customer service to ensure the end-user tool is customized to suits individual needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
Would like to be able to customize the Daily Digest alerts. For example, if I want to break those out by region (i.e. US Domestic vs International) that would present a more organized Digest.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Geofencing key locations and events for incident monitoring. Also, in terms of general crisis event management, the immediate notifications bring an awareness to situations usually well before the news media can post it. This is vital for employee duty of care.

Being able to monitor global news form one market.

The amount of daily notifications can be a bit excessive until you set up the right settings.

Being able to monitor global news, able to see problems when they start locally.

Breaking News with Dataminr

What do you like best about the product?
Dataminr gives us access to some big local breaking news stories, and allows us to interact with users on social media to better understand what's going on and event get pictures or video for our use.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a ton of dataminr alerts we get that don't apply to us and that we have no use for. So we have to sort of weed out the important stuff at times.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Mainly reporting breaking news and trying to interact with people who are experiencing the breaking news. The main benefit is that we can better understand what's happening by interacting with the user experiencing it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely recommend dataminr to other news organizations for two reasons: it allows you to interact with people experiencing breaking news, and it allows you to get national and international news stories quicker.
