Set Up was easy, fast with clear instructions to start with neo4j running on ec2.
Also got a good support from Guhan Sivaji and Puneet Garg (from neo4j) and Antony Prasad Thevaraj from AWS. :)

The product offerings from neo4j are being replicated by the entire industry. I am not a neo4j employee and really appreciate that this product is available here. Great cloud formation script to build out in idempotent fashion.

Unsuccessful Deployment

When trying to deploy a single instance using cloud formation, the process gets hung up at the creation of "Neo4jAutoScalingGroup", then all resources are rolled back. The EC2 instance isn't created until the scaling group is created therefore there's no way to get this working without manual debugging and the investment of time and resources that Cloud Formation templates are meant to alleviate.
