Definitely the best best of low code solutions
What do you like best about the product?
I like the transparent integration between code and UI (actually writing and seeing the code). Retool is by far the best and quickest way to create simple CRUD webapps. I really enjoy workflows as well. I like how you can define resources, and use them throughout the app. It seems all of the authentication types are supported really good (haven't ran into an issue once). Retool offers the fastest way to implament new apps of all of the other low code solutions. I haven't yet had to communicate to customer support, but from what I have learned from a collegue, customer support is awesome, they don't only help with predifined answers, but actually listen to suggestions and make corrections in the system based on user needs. Integration with other tools is easy, because of resources feature.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Error logging is a bit lacking compared to writing app by code (still a lot better than all other low code solutions)
2. Apps can get a bit slow when loading loads of data
3. Code suggestions sometimes not working properly
4. It sometimes forces you to write unreadable code by design, because you have to write it in one line
5. I miss passing parameters to between functions and queries, I had to find a few workarounds to make some edge case solutions work
6. Workflows - missing looping over multiple blocks

Fast, flexible, but costly when scaling
What do you like best about the product?
The drag-and-drop interface is super intuitive, so our team can quickly design and tweak apps without getting bogged down in front-end coding. The integrations are a huge time-saver; we can connect our databases and APIs seamlessly, which means less time on setup and more time actually building. Plus, I love that Retool isn’t restrictive—you can add custom code whenever you need, which lets us tailor apps to our exact needs rather than being limited to rigid templates. Overall, great tool to get started, super easy to implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
The platform can get expensive, especially if you need multiple users working on applications simultaneously. Mobile responsiveness could be improved. Currently, it works best for desktop applications, so if you’re looking to build mobile-friendly tools, it may not be the best option out of the box.
