Expensive solution, but well worth the cost

What do you like best about the product?
Since migrating through two other solutions since the demise of Postini many years ago, we finally settled on Proofpoint and we are glad we did. The product is far better at identifying malicious messages than our previous solutions and has a great system in place to address any false negatives that do get through. Additionally, the solution provides a great way for end-users to manage their quarantines and sender lists. The TRAP auto-pull functionality is great for messages that may get through but are later condemned.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only two real negatives that we see are the cost and the fact that there are multiple management portals that you have to log into to manage the product. It would be nice if there was a single place to login and manage the entire suite.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We opened up our vendor selection due to several clearly malicious messages with html based attachments were getting past our previous solution. Since moving to Proofpoint all of these types of messages have been caught and the number of true malicious messages that have gotten through is almost zero.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the support that we receive from Proofpoint. We are using the EFD Platform as part of ongoing projects to monitor our domains and track ongoing efforts to protect our brand. Their ongoing support has been greatly appreciated.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be a bit tricky to find things within the menus at times, I have had to ask how to locate information about subdomains, what menu to find it under, etc. as may not always be clear.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Solving: Online Reputation and Security Monitoring
Very helpful to see visual feedback of threats blocked, samples of messages blocked, seeing trends of passes and failures in SPF, DKIM, DMARC, etc. Brand defence in EFD is great for finding spoofed/lookalike domains, etc.

What do you like best about the product?
utilizing the advanced email firewall. The ability to detect threats and risks before it approaches.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would say the least I dislike is quarantined mails bulk delete.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
it's helping with phishing and scams email with the proper training we launch for our end-users.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the URL rewritting, it has definetly helped keep my users safe. I also like that if there is a malicious like or a community threat proofpoint is alwars head of the game and quaranites and discards the messages sometimes before they even read it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is difficult to see what is going on or why a user might have flagged an email if there arent any URLs or trying to view HTML information but it does not appear in a user friendly way and can be dangerous!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Some issues are with a large number of issues and lots of noise when it comes to URLs being whitelisted and blacklisted. We have it set up so many are blacklisted and other sites that need to be used that are blocked are then whitelisted.

Took a while to get but not the fault of the vender

The tool supplemented many other tools that are in place.

What do you like best about the product?
The feeling of confidence I get with proofpoint actually gives me a bullet proof feeling. My users particularly like the digest feature. That way if we get things tunes a bit too tightly they are still empowered to retrieve those that get caught. My company interacts with students which makes things a bit challenging, but proofpoint finds a good balance with very few false positives.
What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is not the most intuitive sometimes. I do a smart search, which works awesome, but if I need to retrieve from a folder, I need to go someplace else. Not sure if that is a user training thing or something, but probably the thing I stumble on the most.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Dramatically reduces spam and give really granular ability to build whitelist/blacklist for special circumstances. Compared to other email security systems we have used in the past, we spend much less time dealing with spam and the associated user issues.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have used quite a few other email security platforms over the last 20+ years and this the first I have been happy with. I implemented it a number of years ago and when renewal came up our information security group moved us to something else. They went to a different solution and came back to Proofpoint in less than a year due to the dramatic difference in performance. Proofpoint has continued to earn my loyalty ever since. New products and capabilities keep them relevant and successful at meeting my needs and my companies needs in a very threatening landscape.

Great solution to manage inbound and outbound emails

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of management, Scalability, integration with other vendors, having control on inbound and outbound emails as most of the vendors are focusing more on inbound emails.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is always room for improvement and I think Proofpoint needs to enhance in DLP module compared to what other vendors and competitors are providing in the market now
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Email is number risk factor when it comes to security and I think Proofpoint did great as they have great engine you can rely on catching phishing/spam/malicious emails

Great solution for enterprise email security

What do you like best about the product?
My favorite part of Proofpoint is that it makes it easy to determine how many people a phishing campaign targeted and how many of the targeted individuals clicked phishing links. I also like that I can easily pull emails from end-users mailboxes and pull any emails they may have forwarded to other people within my organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm not too fond of the UI for the TRAP product, and I wish that Proofpoint integrated TRAP into TAP in the same way that they have integrated the email protection dashboard into TAP.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Proofpoint email security has helped my organization significantly reduce the number of phishing emails the end-users receive. Proofpoint has enabled the security team to focus on other areas instead of going through reported emails all day due to the large number of phishing emails caught by Proofpoint.
