What do you dislike about the product?
Limit of projects for team calendar. There are work around but it does become cumbersome.
pricing is climbing quickly, especially for new and multi-team users - no built-in Gantt charts - takes some time to understand who will receive notifications of various activities - would be nice to be able to enter more info about sub-tasks without having to open each pane

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Sleek and user friendly interface. Mobile App and offline mode work very well. Love the continued development of new features and integrations. Looking forward to using Asana with Slack once I get the hang of it.

Good for certain things
What do you like best about the product?
It's nice to be able to move tasks around easily among various projects, duplicate tasks, and assign them to others
What do you dislike about the product?
When there are multiple layers of tasks within a project they can easily become hidden and therefore visually lost
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is particularly useful for us in scoping out/timing long term projects and also communications between team (ie. engineering and sales)
Asana Review
What do you like best about the product?
I like how I can see the tasks assigned to everyone in the office. I can see their progress as well as my own. Keeps things organized and ensures deadlines are met.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes navigating the pages can get confusing, but I am still learning!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving an organizational problem. Now we can assign projects to people and not forget about who is doing what and what projects have been completed.
Asasna lets you wade in the shollow end until you're ready to dive into the depths
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is super easy to get started with. It is great for newly forming startups (both companies and teams) because there is a lot of value in shallow understanding of the features, but when you get using the system more heavily there is additional depth.
There are a tone of opportunities for customization and those are easy to understand when you're ready.

What do you dislike about the product?
The customization can also work to make the system more complex. Be wary of adding too many fields as they become burdensome.
When we wanted o have full fidelity of information between Jira and Asana, that was problematic. We also need to have better reporting and the ability to roll up information at the project and program levels.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed something very fast. Something we didn't have to train on and something that was reasonable in terms of expense. We were used it to deploy our solution to customers using a Kan ban on Asana. It worked great on an individual customer basis.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is great if you don't have really intense requirements. There is a ton of integration through apps in their marketplace as well as the larger marketplace. If Asana doesn't have the app, chances are the other side does. It is much better when they both contribute and have a shared integration story.
When think Asana doesn't quite hit they mark, they have a team ready and willing to help you understand how you can accomplish something in the tool. If they don't do it, they were very helpful in terms of recommendations.

The best out there - but still more room to grow.
What do you like best about the product?
Simple - allows hierarchical viewing.
Easy Attach and Easy send via email

What do you dislike about the product?
Over a year later and card hard Card and list view on the same project.
Needs - a more complex search - allow "OR" etc.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
When you test software like this you need to go "all-in" for a month or so - you can't "play around" with it .. you need to manage everything with it. If you are in a big group - then make a smaller beta group first
Great Project Management But Still Relying On Emails
What do you like best about the product?
What I like is how easy it is to setup and manage projects across a team of people. Asana makes it fun for the user as well with their integrations and themes. It is more engaging than a lot of other task management softwares
What do you dislike about the product?
I really do wish they would implement desktop notifications. One of the biggest things for me is to stay out of my email but that is really the only way to be notified from Asana. Sure, you could just live in the program but I’m using different applications at the same time. Could use the phone notifications but I already get enough of them!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
First and foremost is a centralized locations for task management for all employees, as well as an easy platform to quickly share relevant documents on the go
Extremely flexible tool for organization
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is extremely flexible and allows you to create a organizational structure that's best for your company. I like that Asana makes it easy to collaborate across teams, as well as stay on track with your own personal lists.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is so flexible that sometimes it makes it hard to figure out the best way to organize. It's so flexible that it's easy to create a board that runs out of control. It requires discipline to make sure you're keeping your boards organized and structured in the way that works best for you.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Cross-team collaboration. Asana is most helpful when managing cross-functional projects where you're collaborating with multiple people and need to stay up to date and on track with due dates, tasks, etc.
Project Management & Tracking
What do you like best about the product?
Communication with my entire team in one place. I am able to upload documents and videos and add others to a thread while assigning tasks and creating project out lines. It is a great one stop spot for things. You can also tag coworkers in comments or threads to ensure they know you are talking to them specifically.
What do you dislike about the product?
I get sooooo lost. I feel like I am constantly losing things in Asana (as in can't remember where I saw it or find it in the program easily) I tend to be a fairly organized person so either our company is not utilizing the layout and features properly or I get easily confused. For example, I may be included on a project and asked to complete something, but if it wasn't assigned as a task to me I have to scroll through the projects or my inbox to find it. Or, if I am assigned subtasks, they all fall under the same title in my task list so I will have to open up each one to find the specific task I am looking for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication between our team who works across 2 different states. We use dropbox for file sharing, but this platform is great for notes on specific files and tasks assigned. Once we decide on finals, we then transfer to dropbox.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Look at examples from other companies on how they structured their organization to see what will best fit your company's needs. That way you don't have to go through and do a bunch of clean up.
A great piece of webware for those looking to plan a project.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use for the product is fantastic, it is really easy to get started adding tasks to projects. The mobile apps also allow you to easily manage your tasks on the go as well. I also like the way that you are allowed to structure your projects; you can create tasks that are dependant on other tasks in order to determine how long a certain project will take based on its dependancies. I also love the dashboard features of the project, as it allows you to see a quick overview of how your projects are coming along
What do you dislike about the product?
One problem for me was how focused Asana was on task management. Some competitors like Airtable and Coda allow much more functionality on top of their database platform such as adding in time trackers. But if just task management is what you're looking for, Asana is one of the best.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was using Asana personally to manage my business projects. Asana is a fantastic, quick way to see what I need done, and keeping track of what has been done.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think the Gantt functionality that Asana is implementing will be a great boon for people looking for a project management tool. However, it does not come in the free version.
Excellent task management tool
What do you like best about the product?
This is an excellent tool for managing tasks for your group, department, or company. The fact that it's free for a small group of users is very valuable for freelancers out there. The new features they added such as project management view and copy/pasting images directly to a task is very much needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there's a proper way to group tasks so I can copy paste them or move a bunch of tasks in one go. Currently, grouping a task is done by creating a pseudo-task with a colon at the end.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We wanted a quick, easy-to-learn, cloud solution for managing tasks in a project for our department. Asana brings that to the table to help us keep track of things for our project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a cloud-based project management tool that is well designed and easy-to-use, look no further. Also check out the integrations they have with other cloud services out there that you might find pretty useful.
