Incredibly Usefuly in the Right Circumstances

  • April 28, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about Asana is that it is very easy to use, and there are a lot of pages explaining how different features work. I was able to connect it to my teams and to my outlook email, as well as set up a number of templates in the first two weeks of use with minimal fuss.
What do you dislike about the product?
The downside to Asana is that, while it seems to have a lot of features available, it doesn't quite do everything that I need it to. There are a lot of rules that can cover a wide array of scenarios within a project, but I need them to be able to cross portfolios and that doesn't seem like it's within the current capability of the software. Example: we receive a job request from a client. I would like a rule to exists where when I create a task from that job, it would create two projects in two separate portfolios. One would be a purchasing project, the other would be a creation/implementation project again in separate portfolios. Now, this may be a matter of what tier product I am paying for, but when I reached out to customer service (they were quick to respond) they simply responded with their rules support page, making me think this isn't a feature quite yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is really helping us with tracking how long projects take us and making it easy to assign different tasks between employees. With more accountability there is a greater success and completion rate. A good project management software was sorely needed.
