Automated Reminders and Summaries Make Project Tracking Effortless

  • December 09, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
1. The system provides automated reminders to the assignee, which helps keep tasks on track.
2. Additionally, it generates weekly summaries of project or portfolio progress and status automatically.
What do you dislike about the product?
1. Firstly, it would be helpful to have a recycle bin feature that allows users to recover deleted tasks or projects within a set period, such as 14 days, before they are permanently removed. This would give users a chance to restore items they may have deleted by mistake.
2. Secondly, adding keyboard shortcuts for quicker updates and navigation would greatly improve efficiency. Relying solely on the mouse, especially the left-click, can be time-consuming and tends to slow down the workflow for project managers.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has offered a common dashboard for real time collaboration by CFT team. Communication gaps is resolved and information flow is streamlined. Single assignee feature makes one person accountable even though there are multiple collaborators working on that particular task.
Asana also generates dashboard on portfolio level on a single click and we can customize the view as per our choice therefore saving a lot of time in creating dashboard for review by senior management.

Innovative Portfolio Structure Makes Project Management a Breeze

  • December 09, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the idea of portfolios as the skeleton of the house and the projects as the individual rooms
What do you dislike about the product?
Common Pain Points with Asana
1. Can feel overwhelming for new users
Asana’s flexibility is great, but it also leads many teams to say “There are too many views, too many buttons, too many ways to do the same thing.” Onboarding can feel heavy.
2. Too easy to create clutter
Workspaces, teams, projects, subtasks, sections, tasks… without strict conventions, things quickly get messy. Asana doesn’t enforce structure, which is powerful but dangerous.
3. Limited customization compared to competitors
Fields and rules exist, but some people find that Asana’s automation and custom fields aren’t as deep or as dynamic as tools like ClickUp or Monday.
4. Subtasks can be confusing
Subtasks don’t always inherit properties (custom fields, project info, due dates, etc.). They also don’t always appear clearly in timelines or calendars unless manually added to specific projects.
5. No true native time tracking
You need integrations for proper time tracking. The built-in “time spent” field (if enabled) is still very basic.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is helping us solve a few major challenges around clarity, alignment, and execution. Before using it, our work and priorities were scattered across different tools, making it harder to see how day-to-day tasks connected to larger goals. Asana centralizes everything—projects, owners, deadlines, and progress—so the team has one shared source of truth.
This has been especially beneficial as we build out our team goals and strategy map. With Asana’s Goals feature, we can set clear, measurable objectives that ladder up to our broader strategy. Each goal ties directly to projects and tasks, which helps everyone understand how their work contributes to the bigger picture.
The strategy map becomes much more actionable because it’s not just a document—it’s linked to real, trackable work in Asana. That means we can monitor progress in real time, identify risks earlier, and adjust priorities proactively. Ultimately, it keeps the team aligned, focused, and moving in the same direction.

Excellent Reporting and Gantt View for Project Management

  • December 08, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it can produce reports based on the tasks. Also the Gantt view is nice to have for individual huge project
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't use form much. I think that porfolio function should be only for the advanced package. It is just a view and to organize all the projects. All other functions of the porfolio can be made only for advance package.

And I think the billing system is complicated. Duplicate invoices are generated that users won't be able to know.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?

Essential Workflow Software: Highly Recommended

  • December 06, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is one of those software applications I had never used before my current job, but now it's hard to imagine working without it! Not only is it easy to use, but I also found it easy to integrate into my day-to-day work. In past jobs, I used to have a daily or weekly to-do list, but now I just check my Asana for tasks for that week. I use it every workday, and it's instrumental, especially with the kind of work that my company does, with lots of moving parts. Having the status of clients' projects and other information (like my colleague's comments on tasks) right at your fingertips has been a game-changer for sure.
What do you dislike about the product?
There aren't many downsides to Asana for me, aside from a slight learning curve with the software. Some features aren't as intuitive, like adding a task to the specific project heading or subheading, which can be confusing to do at first. A minor dislike I have for Asana is that a comment's timestamp shows only the number of days since the person commented, not the date itself. Having a timestamp of the date and time that they commented would make things easier and faster.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana solves the problems of not only time management, but also workflow and project management, along with project collaboration. Asana helps my role go smoothly due to solving these issues, by breaking up larger projects into manageable sizes and encouraging collaboration with coworkers. Additionally, with the ability to leave Asana comments, my coworkers know where I am with a certain task or project, and it helps with the flow of information.

Seamless Collaboration for Cross-Functional Teams

  • December 05, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like that Asana allows cross-functional teams to be in a single place. Teams from sales, creative, and operations can all use the same source of truth and collaborate within this single tool, which is great. Asana also solves the problem of having a single place that serves as the source of truth for project and deliverables status. It helps us assign due dates, manage dependencies, and maintain visibility, keeping us on track to drive key outcomes. Instead of relying on fragmented updates or communication, Asana ensures alignment across all of our teams so we can complete projects efficiently.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, the features (notifications, boards, comments) can get overwhelming, but this is more of a user issue than anything. Any way to simplify would be great. For example, smart filter to focus only on high priority updates, or cleaner way to organize and collapse comment threads.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana to track client projects and deliverables, serving as a single source of truth for project status. It helps assign due dates, manage dependencies, and maintain visibility, ensuring alignment across sales, creative, and operations teams for completing projects.
