Review of Asana
What do you like best about the product?
That it is cloud based, easy navigation, looks mordern
What do you dislike about the product?
Cannot see nested sub tasks, dependencies do not automatically change dates, a bit restrictive
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration and making sure that everyone is on same page when it comes to tasks and deadlines
Asana provides a good balance of features for teams, individuals, and large organizations.
What do you like best about the product?
I like the ease of use and flow of the application. It's easy to see how projects are tied to each other which is beneficial, especially in big teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes I wish the notification system was a bit "lighter", that is, being a bit simpler for large teams.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Resourcing, mainly - easy to see who has bandwidth and who does not.
Like it, but could be better
What do you like best about the product?
It's a useful tool to help get everything in one spot.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't love that you can create a Portfolio of Projects, but every Project still shows up on the left-hand toolbar. I'd LOVE to be able to hide the Projects that are within the Portfolio, since the Portfolio already shows up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's working towards cutting down on emails for projects and allowing everyone to have the same view of where the project is.
Hinder small businesses
What do you like best about the product?
The automations you can build in Asana are limiting, a lot of potential value here. I create workflow automations using zapier instead.
What do you dislike about the product?
I hate how I can only add seats in multiple of 5. This is ridiculous and does not help small businesses.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Building integrated campaigns.
So far mostly happy but have some frustrations
What do you like best about the product?
- Intuitive at a high level and makes creating templates with a waterfall flow easy.
- Love that I can set timelines in templates and exclude weekends.
- Comes highly recommended by multiple teammates who have used
Asana and other PM tools
- Can multi-home work so everyone can have what they need where they need it.
- Asana team have all been very positive and helpful, I'm happy to work with all of the different people I've connected with - they represent Asana well.
- My Task function is easy to use and makes finding work easy.

What do you dislike about the product?
- I absolutely HATE the lack of onboarding and the self serve / one size fits all trainings.
If the trainings were more broken out maybe they'd work but Asana has PMs, Copy writers, Tech, etc all taking essentially the same trainings and if you don't know the specific key words to search the asset library isn't very helpful.
- Asana has functionality that they ultimately don't recommend or really support, which my team wasted hours on. While we have processes that are unique to our team and company they are not wildly unique. We created parent tasks with subtasks & some sub-sub-tasks but then when reviewing how to make them into templates were told sub-tasks really aren't recommended because of reporting and automation abilities. A huge reason we switched to Asana was the sub-task and automation functionality so this was very frustrating, especially when there could have been training at the very start showing us how to make Asana work for our needs.
- There is minimal 1:1 training time provided in the package, this is especially noticed when the bulk of the time is spent just discussing our basic needs. After having to have 3+ meetings with Asana before we decided to purchase, I expected a more cohesive experience where these teams talked and I was set up with the tools and processes I said I needed during the research phase.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Ensuring I can assign each step in the process of a task to a specific user and set their due date clearly
Love Asana, but to get the most out of it you would need to upgrade
What do you like best about the product?
Asana helps streamline my day to day workflow and strategically plan out my week
What do you dislike about the product?
The features within the free plan are not as robust as i'd like. I can only use the most basic rules in my projects and the forms feature still requires a lot of manual work on the free plan.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps me build out robust timelines and project schedules. It helps my team manage their tasks throughout a project
I LOVE almost everything about Asana... but their customer service is abysmal
What do you like best about the product?
I love that Asana is easy to use (I've implemented it with many new teams and they all pick it up seamlessly), the extra delight is well.... delightful, and I feel like it's reasonable value for money overall. I also love that they continue investing in the product with new features, so it always feels like you're getting more value all the time.
What do you dislike about the product?
The customer service is absolutely appalling. They tout that they have 24/7 customer service, but there is no ability to call or live chat. Your only option is email, and it often takes them multiple days to respond. It's awful. I just use Asana daily, praying that I don't actually have any issues that require customer service support. If I didn't have so much time and effort invested, I would have jumped to a different product already for this alone, but unfortunately I'm hooked on the product. Live customer service in real time available via live chat should be a barrier to entry for a tech-focused online service product like Asana... it's truly appalling and so upsetting that they don't have it. As a paying customer especially, it's just unfathomable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Everything related to task management, collaboration with others... Asana makes it easy to review/approve marketing or documents, especially with the ability to link out to other places like dropbox. It's also great for recurring or semi-regular tasks so I don't have to remember. I have AuDHD, so Asana is a lifesaver in literally so many ways... I would LOVE it if they would just fix their freaking customer service. Live chat is a barrier to entry these days and the bare minimum for a product like this, get it together, Asana!! If I didn't have so many years invested, I would have bailed by now to a different service, but I love the product so much I stayed.
Asana is great as a project management tool but I sometimes wish it can help me with organization
What do you like best about the product?
Project management among the team, easy to learn
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not organized enough, not enough features. So much so that I don't really use it for my own tracking, more of communication between myself and the team on their own tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working as a team remotely. It helps me keep track of other team members' tasks.
Asana Integration for Our Growing Business
What do you like best about the product?
I love the new addition of portfolios and how they house everything in one place. We use Asana daily and have fully integrated it into our business across the board.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the UX could be better in the view, it just is so many words and lines it is easy to get lost in it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping all our projects in one place with a clear trail of the work and tasks to refer back to.
Helpful for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
That it allows teams to collaborate on projects, divvy up duties and track progress all in one platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
Trying to determine the best place to share information and comments that may be relevant to multiple parts of the process or project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It is helping cut down on the use of spreadsheets, google docs and emails to divvy up items that are part of current projects.
