This was my first introduction to a Project Management tool!

  • July 31, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
This tool was quite easy to use and they offer good customer service.
What do you dislike about the product?
Since our team is still a startup we couldn't get any training from their team, which was a bit unfortuante as even though they have help articles, having someone help set us up would have been ideal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This has allowed my team to track tasks and moving away from paper!

Make group projects easy with Asana

  • July 30, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like how Asana helps organise projects and make them easier to manage. Its to-do list feature allows you to create quick reminders for those involved in the project, while also allowing regularly assigned tasks to stay grouped in one place, making it easier for users or organisations to provide feedback on results. It's easy to create sub-groups so that everyone's needs are taken into account when taking on different roles within a team. The user interface looks great and makes navigation very fluid; there are also plenty of sections, adding an extra layer of customisation options.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike the fact that Asana only allows one primary assignee per task. This makes it difficult to allocate responsibility and track progress across multiple users in a team. To get around this limitation, when working with large teams, subtasks or task collaborators can be used, or duplicate tasks can be created to share certain activities with other members of the group.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps me save time and stay organised by streamlining our processes, tracking data, and facilitating communication. Staying on top of my growing responsibilities is now much easier thanks to Asana's easy-to-use platform.

What do you dislike about the product?
There's not much that I don't like about Asana. It does exactly what I need it to do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has helped me stay organized and on track for my projects

Good tool to track day-to-day productivity

  • July 26, 2023
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about the tool is intergration and automation via zaprier, most of the times in work, we have to connect google sheet with third party software and Asana is useful for this task.
What do you dislike about the product?
Prices for small team is a bit on the higher side, even though for 10 people team one need to pay around $11 which is high since company is just starting. Also, they have a lot of features so learning for new members takes time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I was in simplilearn, it was difficult to manage multiple project in Adwords and we used to keep reminder for team so that we don't overshoot the budget. Also, it was usefull to connect with Google Drive, and Zapier.

A tool requiring an easy setup phase that can help manage software development

  • July 20, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

I use Asana for advanced use cases, including managing software development and other projects.

How has it helped my organization?

With one particular project, we manage the development activities with around twenty people on the project team and about five hundred tasks, for which Asana helps to manage our sprint planning.

What is most valuable?

The most valuable features of the solution are the different views, including the list view, table view, dashboard, and the ability to add fields or customize by adding some specific fields for a project.

What needs improvement?

The calendar view in Asana has shortcomings and can be improved. The other element is the ability to natively be able to add additional connectors to better manage the planned time versus the actual time for each task.

The timesheet aspect is an additional feature I like to see in Asana since we now use another application called Toggl for managing our time cards. It would be better if we could do what we do in Toggl directly in Asana since it would be easy to plan activities.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Asana for a year and a half. I use the solution's latest version.

What do I think about the stability of the solution?

Stability-wise, I rate the solution a nine out of ten.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

Scalability-wise, I rate the solution a seven out of ten.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup was straightforward.

The solution is deployed on the cloud.

What was our ROI?

I have not specifically seen any ROI using the product. We use it as a part of different tools, so it is like looking at the ROI for an email, which is a part of the tools we need.

What other advice do I have?

To those planning to use Asana, I would say there are many similar applications. It can be hard to choose from applications like monday.com, Asana, ClickUp, and others since they are all good for collaborative project management for smaller projects, which have not quite reached the level in terms of capabilities to manage very large projects. I have managed projects ranging from 25 million USD to 50 million USD, and I feel Asana cannot operate at that level.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

What do you like best about the product?
The best thing about Asana is you get to create multiple projects you are working on and also gives flexibility to add subtask, set priorities and assign task to the repective team members
What do you dislike about the product?
Some times it doesnt allow to create custom fields as per the requirement or demand of the project categories. Which makes it a bit challenging to filter out on basis of specific requirements
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps us to keep a track all in one place and give a fine dashboard view of our pending task completed task etc. Its keeps all our project and day to day tasks organised and allows us to collaborate with time and send update and communicate with the team in task threads.

Asana unite!

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I've used Trello, Smartsheet, MS Project, and other platforms similar to Asana. I must say that it's by far the simplest to absorb and make your own but still align with your primary platforms for email and calendar.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have no dislikes at this time. I utilize Asana heavily within my role to keep organization and dependencies efficiently represented and documented for tracking purposes.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana solves work management, and project management collaboration disconnects for us here at MERGE. I utilize it for product management as well focusing on GRC and information security compliance.

Easy to use, good UI, and helpful for team collaboration

  • July 13, 2023
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

My team was seeking for a tool to provide direction, so I tried out a few.

Although there is a learning curve with every program, Asana stands out for having an easy-to-use UI. The templates are also excellent for getting us started, and Asana's extensive customization capabilities are a significant benefit. There are so many wonderful features to discover, and as my use case grows, I look forward to implementing new features.

Teams may cooperate and produce solid projects of all types using Asana.

How has it helped my organization?

The product's flexibility is its strongest feature; we can utilize it however we like to finish the project.

What is most valuable?

It’s a great way to communicate plans and progress across the business and is flexible about how much detail I include and how I present it. I especially like the way I can share different perspectives with different people and the flexibility in how I present information.

My team especially loves the Priority Poker feature: making prioritizing cooperation fun and easy, and helping me stick to my strategy and goals. I can modify it to fit my team’s needs and easily extend my process at anytime easily.

What needs improvement?

Some customizations and functions are still not available, however, so far, they haven't been a deal killer. Asana appears to be open to suggestions, and as they are continually making improvements, these might be implemented in the future.

It takes some time to get used to and is initially difficult to navigate Asana. It gets much better as you get to know about Asana. Since you can’t set up an advanced search to distinguish between tasks, folders, and projects, I also have trouble with the search feature.

For how long have I used the solution?

I've used the solution for two plus years.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

I adore how Asana allows us to be consistent and open with our staff. To keep track of all of our jobs, we used too many spreadsheets and manila folders, which frequently went missing and required workers to search the office for lost files.
