Helps me manages my time and tasks efficiently

  • June 13, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I benefit greatly from the freedom to create projects, tasks, and subtasks that keep my ongoing duties moving forward efficiently. Given that I have limited hours each week as a part-time employee, the ability to re-create a task or project and tweak it for future use has been a life-saver.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm still figuring out the subtasks, repeating tasks, and dependencies. But I suspect it's less about the function of those features and more about the time I have to dig into the learning.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana allows me to track the moving parts of my and my co-worker's projects, particularly where our roles overlap or interact before a final product is complete.

What do you like best about the product?
Asana allows me to see the status of tasks without using precious meeting time to get updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Projects involving a team require everyone to be equally invested in using the product- meaning, the product is only helpful if everyone uses it!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collaboration is required for nonprofits to succeed and this tool helps us do that.

Allows us to prioritize tasks effectively at reasonable pricing

  • June 12, 2024
  • Review provided by PeerSpot

What is our primary use case?

We use the solution to create some tasks. Each task is assigned to somebody here.

What is most valuable?

The way it handles the task is good. The whole team needs to organize all our tasks using Asana. It helps to clarify and allows us to prioritize tasks effectively.

What needs improvement?

The solution could have a bigger pop-up when someone assigns a task or have a notification similar to Facebook, where you see a number indicating the notifications you receive. This way, you can see the notification when you use Asana. Perhaps a larger notification or a different color could make it easier for everyone to identify that they have a task assigned.

For how long have I used the solution?

I have been using Asana for a year. We are using the desktop version of the solution.

What do I think about the scalability of the solution?

The solution is scalable.

How are customer service and support?

Technical support is very useful.

How was the initial setup?

The initial setup is straightforward. 20 members, including the manager, were involved in the development.

I rate the initial setup an eight out of ten, where one is difficult and ten is easy.

What's my experience with pricing, setup cost, and licensing?

The pricing is reasonable. We paid and received equal functionality.

What other advice do I have?

I recommend the solution. You can view and manage your tasks, assign each task to the appropriate team member, and track the progress and status of each task.

Overall, I rate the solution an eight out of ten.

What do you dislike about the product?

Great bridge tool between other organizational tools that don't quite get coordination done right.

  • June 12, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Merging information and communication under a highly maleable task and organizational structure.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would want stronger partitioning between "personal todos/scheduling" (MyTasks) versus "organizational todos/scheduling" (the todo's/scheduling that come to me from the organization). While I can organize my tasks under a "category" of ALL my tasks, I'd want better isolation of "MyTasks" from others so I can schedule and plan my own path independent of the demands of others.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I don't currently use the tool. I just received an intro on the tool

What do you dislike about the product?
There is a great amount of features which I not always need.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me stay organized, get work done, track my tasks and keep my notes in one place.

Gen X Newbie

What do you like best about the product?
As you can see by the title, I'm almost a Boomer, but not quite. I "designed" my first website back in 2000. It was just a GeoCities drag and drop, but I was the only person I knew who had ever done one at the time. I've added RAM, replaced MacBook Pro screens (not touch screens though), designed on Gimp, etc. Little things. That's my tech background.

So, that being said, I can see how Asana will be incredibly helpful once I start using it regularly. For the past 2-3 weeks, I've been like a deer in headlights when I log on and then I play ostrich when I log off...without accomplishing much of anything. But now that I have attended the Getting Started and the Personal Productivity online presentations, I feel more confident. I can see how it will help me organize my projects and the rest of my life. And that is what I like best about Asana.

I am a single mom of two boys who are in college and still need me to coordinate some things for them like doctor's appointments, taxes, and school administrative paperwork. If I had known about Asana when they were young and had baseball, softball, soccer, and football practices and games I needed to manage, I probably would be a different person today.
What do you dislike about the product?
I've only tried working with Asana for the past 2-3 weeks. At this point, I haven't found a downside yet. I do see a steep learning curve for someone like me, and it's a little intimidating. However, Asana Academy has live presentations that seem helpful. I just took the Getting Started and the Personal Productivity sessions today, but I feel much more at ease with the program. It seems intuitive and I may just have to go a little slower than other folks. And since Asana emails the presentations to attendees, I'll be able to review these sessions as often as I need, which I definitely appreciate.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is helping me bundle all of my projects and tasks into one portal and that simplifies everything. My team uses Asana for all project-related communications so I am never looking for a lost email or message. It is all under the proper heading. With emails, that doesn't always happen. Too many times, the subject of an email will have absolutely nothing to do with the email itself. Because our communications are under the name of the project, I don't have to spend an untold amount of time looking for information. It's all right there.
