What do you like best about the product?
It makes managing a remote team so much easier and functions so much better than other much more expensive software I use for my firm. The basic features user friendly and easy to learn and use.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was more clear how to operate the premium features such as the automations and I wish there were more integrations with popular case management softwares such as clio.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
i lead and manage a remote team and we work together, this helps with commication and efficiency

Asana makes tracking simple

  • August 08, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The attention to detail in the user interface really makes working with Asana incredibly smooth and helps the tool disappear into the background so you can focus on work.
What do you dislike about the product?
please note this comment is based on an investigation that I did many years ago, so things may have changed since. I wish that asana's API and integration was simpler and that there were more opportunities to extend Asana to integrate with our internal systems than what it seems like from my original research, which has been a few years now. It was a fairly large amount of work if we wanted to automate any integrations to Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana for customer support tickets, developer tasks, project management and specs for new features. The ability to have a unique URL for every comment. Every task and to be able to cross link and tag any task within Asana is super valuable. We share links to Asana details all the time.

A place for (nearly) everything, and everything in its place!

What do you like best about the product?
It's so nice to have a place to track things and use automation to simplify work flows. It's user-friendly and fairly easy to pick up as a new user. We're able to efficiently track and view information we never could previously, automate some of the lost-value processes/workflows, and simplify where and how we store information. The community build around Asana is incredible - there's a group of Asana users who can usually answer questions you have about how to do something, especially with creative automation.
What do you dislike about the product?
The automation/rules are lacking in extremely logical and/or simplistic ways, requiring some creative thinking to get things to work how you need them to. The admin/superadmin doesn't have access like an admin SHOULD have in a system like this. There are 3 or 4 ways to do many things (keyboard shortcuts, 3 or 4 different ways/places to create new tasks, etc.), which can be incredibly confusing for new users who aren't as tech savvy. Bundles being limited to Enterprise tier, with no other way for non-Enterprise users to update multiple projects/rules at one time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before Asana, we didn't have a great way to track what everyone was working on in a project. Asana makes it easy for teams to have visibility of where projects are in the process, and allows for better accountability and ownership of tasks (I know I have to do this thing by this date, because I'm blocking this other person from doing their next task to keep this project/process moving forward). We're also able to more easily track projects whose actual work happens in multiple other systems, by having Asana be our one-stop guide to what's happening where and when. We're still building in Asana, and finding what works best for us, but Asana has been a complete game-changer in our daily task and workflow management.

Asana Bettter than Click Up? - I think so

  • August 02, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
As someone that always used click up I have to say im impressed with Asana and the ease of setting up things and the flow between apps. As a web design and hosting company we use Asana for our tasks integrated together with slack and other apps and it works so well. Even everhour is a great add on.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is where Asana struggles- pricing. Click up gives you almost the same features on the free plan with a AI assistant and upgrading is a lot cheaper. So its hard for those who are a small agency to afford Asana long term especially if you are going to be needing other tools for your agency.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its solving all my freelancing work projects and helps me to stay up to date with my tasks. Its also easy to get feed back from other team members and to prioritize your hours in a more streamlined way. At the end of the day as a freelancer its all about your hours and not wasting time. Asana helps you to stay on track and get what you need from clients faster then back and forward on email. Its a great product management tool.

If you're not super technical, Asana is for you!

  • July 29, 2024
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I started using Asana in 2019. I tried the free version for years because my business budget was tight, and I couldn't afford a robust tech stack. But when I did have some extra money, I ran to Asana to upgrade.

Over those two years of using the free version, I loved how easy the platform was to use. Having tried more technical project management tools, Asana was so easy to use—and fun! (Who doesn't love a rainbow character shooting across the screen when you finish a task?!)

Now, I log into Asana every day before I jump into work.
It's the lifeblood of my business and my number one accountability partner.

If I have a new idea when I'm walking with my dog, I grab my phone and open Asana to jot it down. If we onboard a new team member, the first thing we do is explain how important Asana is to our business and give them a tour.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside to Asana is not being able to add team members at different levels for your subscription. For instance, as a business owner, I'd like access to features like "Goals" and "Portfolios" without having to pay for our entire team to upgrade. But, we manage anyway.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps our team stay organized and on-track. Before we begin any new project, we outline all the tasks we need to complete and assign them a due date. It's been game-changing for team collaboration and communication to have everything documented in one place.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am just starting to use Asana personally, and I use it to organize and accomplish my tasks."
