Useful for Teams, But Needs Better Board Management

  • November 29, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Its easy to create portfolios of projects and from a project management perspective, its an effective tool. There are some good automations, which are helpful (although annoying you have to upgrade for some which would be very useful). I also like that I can easily create dashboards and templated.
What do you dislike about the product?
From an organizational perspective, I do not like that we cannot audit our Asana boards and remove them. I also do not like that its difficult to find simple integrations from my email to add actions into an Asana board. We have found workarounds but not ideal.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps us track projects and workflows.

Helping Shape Stakeholder Management and Collaboration

  • November 25, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
In my current role, I have utilized Asana to stay in contact with multiple stakeholders or manage project/activity needs. It is very useful at helping yo keep track of roadmaps and frameworks while also helping to coordinate digital learning rollouts. Since I manage a committee, this has helped me assign action items to various members, and track goals, keeping everything centrally located to our work.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is a separate platform. Sometimes individuals and teams do not see the need for another PM program. If everyone isn't using it together, you get limited results. I also wish there was a better storytelling/storyboarding feature. Because of this I have to utilize separate apps to design frameworks, and track assessment, like Miro or Lucidchart, etc. More of an all in one platform would be more ideal and limit bouncing from program to program, especially considering Asana is a PM platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Honestly, one of the biggest issues in L&D management, is dealing with multiple stakeholders across timezones and regions globally. This helps centralize that into one location, being able to consolidate people into groups to manage easier, notify, etc.

Smooth Task Transition, Needs Better Terminology

  • November 24, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate Asana's user experience and the overall feel of the platform. The ability to switch between tasks feels very smooth and efficient compared to other tools I've used, allowing me to jump between projects and tasks seamlessly. I love how it allows me to add tasks to projects, create dependencies, and make them visible. This feature is integral to my daily activities, enhancing my productivity by saving time and reducing the number of clicks needed to manage tasks effectively. The immediacy of transitions within Asana not only saves time but also contributes to a pleasant work experience.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don’t like the terminology in Asana being too rigid. For instance, the term 'Project' is not always appropriate as sometimes I use it just as 'Boards'. Additionally, I find the Goals feature not particularly intuitive. It lacks the cohesive feel of the rest of the Asana experience and does not link to tasks very well. Furthermore, when using Asana in conjunction with Miro, I experience the integration to be very slow.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana to structure topics for meetings and track action items efficiently, facilitating smooth transitions between tasks and projects, enhancing my productivity.

What do you dislike about the product?
Some UI is counterintuitive and some updates hide things and/or limit previous features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We track with the team our deadlines and projects' completeness.

Flexible and Intuitive for Project Management, But Needs Outcome Mapping

  • November 24, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I find Asana to be incredibly useful for project management and project reviews. It offers great flexibility and allows me to set up projects in a manner that suits my needs, which is a huge advantage because I deal with different types of projects. The ability to customize columns in every project provides significant flexibility, accommodating the varied demands of individual projects. Asana is also intuitive to use, making it a breeze to manage a large number of tasks efficiently. The Rules engine is another feature that I appreciate because it automates the setup process for complex projects, allowing me and my team to focus more on execution rather than configuration. The platform's compatibility with Google Suite integrations enhances its utility further, streamlining workflows and facilitating better collaboration across distributed teams. Asana's capability for visibility and transparency empowers seamless collaboration and enables us to follow timelines effectively, ensuring that every team member is aligned and aware of any project deviations.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find that Asana is not effective in managing outcomes. It works well if you have a project built to its template, but in cases where my workflow is not like that of a tech product, some of it has to be managed outside Asana because it cannot be structured properly within it. Additionally, if I have several separate projects contributing to a single outcome, Asana does not allow me to map their interplay effectively since it is designed to manage projects as separate portfolios. Furthermore, the initial setup of Asana requires quite a bit of time and thought to determine the best way to set up a project for my specific use case.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana for project management, providing visibility, transparency, and seamless collaboration for distributed teams. It helps templatize workflows, simplifying complex task tracking, and allows customization to suit different project needs.

A Solid Project Management Tool, Though Sometimes More Complicated Than Necessary

  • November 19, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a reliable, well-structured tool that keeps our team organized and aligned. I like that it gives you multiple ways to view work—list, board, timeline—which makes it easy to switch between high-level planning and day-to-day task management. It also integrates well with other tools we use, so information doesn’t get lost. Overall, it’s dependable and helps me stay on top of projects without too much friction.
What do you dislike about the product?
At times it feels more complex than it needs to be. There are layers of features, menus, and settings that can make simple workflows feel heavier than they should. Compared to tools like Trello, which feel extremely intuitive, Asana can be a bit overwhelming—especially for quick, lightweight task tracking. It gets the job done, but I often find myself wishing the interface were more streamlined and straightforward.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps me coordinate work with external contractors, especially designers and web developers. It gives us a single place to share tasks, files, and feedback, which cuts down on back-and-forth messages and keeps everyone aligned on what needs to get done. Having clear deadlines, comments, and status updates in one workspace makes it easier to manage multiple projects at once and ensure nothing slips through the cracks. Overall, it keeps our contractor collaboration organized and predictable.
