Digital Marketing Agency Go-To for Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
For my agency, Asana's strengths lie in its flexibility. Where several other project management tools fell short in their ability to track multiple projects for multiple clients, Asana handles this seamlessly. Asana is a critical tool for trafficking work through our agency. It allows for effective and efficient communication related to task requirements and feedback. We make good use of the custom reporting which makes it easy to see tasks, due dates, and priorities by team member or client on a rolling basis.
I also appreciate the integrations with other tools, especially Slack and our time-tracking tool, Everhour.

What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn't call this a dislike as much as a heads-up: We had a dedicated team member (along with support from a small informal internal committee) who was responsible for setup, implementation, documentation of usage standards, and training our team. During this process, she spent a lot of time getting to know the product, understanding its features and flexibility, and deciding how to most effectively set up our clients, projects, and tasks. In the absence of this, I don't think the tool would have been as intuitively useful moving forward and I suspect adoption across the agency would have failed.
This is not a criticism of Asana, but rather an acknowledgment that it is a robust and flexible professional tool that merits dedicated ownership and management within an organization. Since set up, it has been easy for new team members to onboard and use daily with little to no education or experience on the product.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since integrating Asana into our daily workflow, we are better equipped to set and manage project timelines, share files and feedback consistently, and prevent updates from slipping through the cracks. It improved communication by adding a level of objectivity as we maintain Asana as our "single source of truth." This means that through the natural course of our work, we are creating and keeping a historical record of feedback, decisions, timelines, and deliverables all in one easy-to-reference place.
Asana provides order and visibility
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to gain oversight on all ongoing tasks while collaborating with many parts of the company. Instead of having to email, message, or call a colleague to determine the status - anyone can see where a project stands and who is either working on the next step or holding the next step up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inbox madness. We've developed different work styles to help manage the inbox. If you're working or overseeing many tasks your inbox can be hit hard with notifications with every step or touch a project has. To avoid this I've just turned off email notifications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Order! No longer do we have people pointing fingers and matters of he said she said. All projects must start via a form within Asana that connects to our project tracker. This has alleviated quite a burden from our Creative team.

Asana is my favorite project management platform!
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has the best combination of features for the type of project management work that I do. As a community manager, I use multiple project boards to plan, manage, and implement the various moving parts of our community programming, and I love being able to have a unified task that can appear in multiple areas based on who I need to give visibility to.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve to using the platform, which can keep other team members or clients apprehensive to using it. But once you get them through a quick orientation and they see all the capabilities, that is usually not an issue for long!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is a unified project management tool for my department and team. As a mostly virtual team with a lot of projects and moving parts, we need a lot of over communication and visibility, and Asana is a great match for us.
Pretty great for internal project management

Great Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
I like how easy it is to track steps and create tasks. It also integrates nicely with our files in Microsoft Teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it can be hard to keep up with a lot of different tasks at once. The dashboard can get crowded if you have a lot of due dates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Since our team is all remote, it cuts down on having to send emails or instant messages to see what needs to be done. We can just use Asana and see the status on everything.
