It runs our entire remote and in-person operation.

What do you like best about the product?
The accountability is second to none. Having people tag who needs to know what, set deadlines, and make it easy to monitor progress and response has changed our game.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is slow to add features we really need - and I don't love the graphic experience (I do love the narwhals and such - just wish I could make it cleaner appearing). There are add ons that allow us to get the workflow we want but we wish it could either integrate more easily with 3rd party apps or function such that we don't need them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accountability
Communications - we've all but eliminated email
Discovering holes in our processes and finding ways to solve them
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You need to get at least one person certified as an Asana ambassador who administrates and trains, not a full-time role, but it should be someone devoted to that expertise or you won't be successful in adopting it - and you'll likely need to get fluent in Zapier in order to get the most out of the software.

Organization

What do you like best about the product?
The most useful thing about Asana is that it helps you define workflows in your team. The advantages are many: Better organization. Effective productivity. Tracking and achievement of goals.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I don't like is that it doesn't let me convert already structured projects into the components of another project. I can import or do tasks from another project, but it doesn't allow me to pull the entire project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
definition of processes, structure of new and established areas.
creation of workflows in a department.
Distribution of new tasks
tracking of objectives.

Great tool for tracking tasks and getting work done!

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of creating a task. This makes it pretty much impossible to forget to record a task for future effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sorting and viewing items is very limited. This should be expanded so that data can be filtered in any way which is useful to the organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Tracking recurring tasks, yearly renewals, etc. The benefit is that these things can be worked proactively instead of reacting to an overdue notice.

Effective for managing EVERYTHING

What do you like best about the product?
I love how Asana keeps developing more ways to make work more fluid. As soon as I can come up with a way that it would be more useful, they release features that help solve my issues.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think the initial learning curve can be a bit steep for someone who's never used task management before. Sometimes there is more than one way to accomplish a task and it can make it overwhelming to figure out the "right" way to get something set up.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving how to effectively transfer work and information between team members without needing meetings. Our office is 100% remote and it would take so many meetings to get everyone as on the same page as Asana does. We can collaborate seamlessly with Asana!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I recommend Asana to anyone wanting to collaborate work tasks across teams and even just for daily task tracking.

ALL THE THINGS!

What do you like best about the product?
The complexity of capability is somehow elegantly hidden in a visually simple interface. You can find everything you need in fairly intuitive ways, but it's not all on the screen to busy up the place.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's some functionality I wish I could see. Things like "Sections" being "cards" on my screen that I can scroll through (as in, inside of - not scrolling my screen). And more nesting of things within things. Subtasks doesn't quite have the level of mechanical development that I'd like. Essentially, I want to look at entire projects without having to scroll down or sideways. Get the entire Kanban board on my screen and let me scroll within the sections in some way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My god, everything. I've got a team of 6 Project Managers managing at least 50 projects between us at a company with 400+ employees. Keeping all that straight is a massive undertaking and Asana gets us there in a snap.

Streamlines Our Process and Keeps Me Employed!

What do you like best about the product?
Pretty much anything I can think of, Asana can do it. The controls are intuitive, and I never have to navigate complicated menus to get where I want to be. Asana is efficient and easy.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could assign more than one person to a task and also create fields with calenders.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When I was hired, my department's organizational skills were a mess. Asana allowed me to clean up our "to-do" list while helping our artists better keep track of their upcoming projects. We're saving money no longer wasting time trying to track down files or project information.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Other departments regularly ask me to show what Asana is capable of, and people think I'm a genius. It's Asana doing all the work, but I get the credit. Asana is affordable, and you're going to save money in the long run because productivity will go through the roof.

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is an AWESOME tool for organizing team workloads and keeping track of everything that's going on. It's user-friendly and helpful for all (no matter how much project management experience you have). And the flying unicorns are icing on the cake :)
What do you dislike about the product?
I can't think of anything I dislike about asana! The functionality is great. The only downside is that it can be kind of pricey... But I think it's worth the cost. Oh and sometimes the PDF viewer is slow...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use asana to make sure our team is all on the same page with projects, keep track of where we're at in the process, and project workloads (so we don't burn our people out!).

What do you like best about the product?
Asana has amazing features but, with no doubt, the custom fields are the best because it makes it possible to organize the activities in an efficient way.
What do you dislike about the product?
The limited number of rules (25). This number needs to increase
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Today, we can guarantee the centralization of the initiatives of the company that is cross areas, with people working from different parts of the world.

What do you like best about the product?
The interaction between the team allows you to explain and have directly points and objectives; leading to the team to interact within the expose ideas. Feedback becomes organic.
What do you dislike about the product?
The software is expensive for latin countries. There is no official content in spanish; and no rewards if you create or guide a new team through implementation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Communication; and proyect analisis in a more casual interaction; Feedback is also that becomes organicly through the conversation.
Mostly sharing ideas and reviews.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be aware that most of the companies are different & implementattion becomes key for smooth and organic integration.

I can't work without Asana

  • February 23, 2022
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's super user-friendly. It does allow me to create a personal task for my work, so I never forget any deadline or follow-up. Also, with the portfolio, we can follow the workload of everyone, so we make sure never to overload someone
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing I dislike. Maybe, right now, we got a bug, and we can't even add a new user to our board. We did contact the support, and we are still waiting, but it's only been 48h hours (so it's we should probably have a solution soon)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We don't overload our people, I never miss any follow-up or any task, we can plan our project better, I always know what I have to do. I can share new task and check if it's fits in our current workload. Yes, it did help my productivity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is a great tool to manage projects and a team. It is easy to use, and it allows a better teamwork.
