Managing teams with asana
What do you like best about the product?
The most useful aspect of Asana is the tasks and subtasks. My team and I have a more streamlined method of assigning tasks and prioritizing them. The task deadline setting has also helped us to be more aware of task deadlines and make sure we don't miss deadlines.
What do you dislike about the product?
In the case of Asana solution, I really don't like the option to create task templates
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team uses Asana to manage project deadlines. This enabled managers to track progress more efficiently.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My whole experience with Asana has been positive. Asana is a cinch to use and should take no more than a few hours to become used to. I am certain there are other things I have not learned from the curriculum that I am unaware of. Extremely user-friendly.
Nice Visual Project Management Software for Cross-Functional Teams
What do you like best about the product?
Very easy to use and is a good to-do list to keep projects on track and also to track the status of projects in other teams
What do you dislike about the product?
When creating subtasks to a task, they do not get automatically added to the timeline unless you also make them subtasks of the project, which creates multiple duplicates.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project tracking. When a lot of people work remote or from different facilities, it's nice to be able to see what is going on everywhere
Easy to Use With Distributed Teams of Varying Savvy & Pushing New Features Regularly
What do you like best about the product?
I like how simple and easy the tool is to use. Just about anyone, regardless of their tech savvy can get onboarded and utilize the tool quickly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I feel like Asana does lag behind some competitors like ClickUp in terms of total function, flexibility, integration, and power.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We handle project management on several different fronts with Asana. Both internal projects and external projects we manage on behalf of clients.
Great new tool to use!
What do you like best about the product?
I really like the graphics, outlines, and really easy to use and collaborate with team members.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some visualizations of the tasks can be a bit daunting, but it just takes a moment to adjust and understand.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keep track of tasks and understanding what other people on the team need from me without having to communicate it through other channels
Everything you need to manage projects in one place
What do you like best about the product?
I like how my tasks can be easily organized by project, but then the view for each project can be different based on my needs. Sometimes I have a project that needs to be viewed in a calendar, other times I need a board with cards, and sometimes I just need a long-running to-do list.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that it is sometimes hard to navigate once a lot of projects have been added. I find that the left side menu becomes a long-running scroll bar since all navigation and projects and settings are listed in the same place. It could be broken up a little more to spread out the organization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project Management has improved with Asana as well as team collaboration. I've been working remotely and as we add team members it's easy for us to all look to one place (Asana) for everything we need.
Intuitive project management software
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is one of the world's most popular project and team management software that can be operated from a web browser or mobile app for Android and iOS. With this easy-to-use tool, we can easily organize the team's work, whether we are dealing with a small project or a large, strategic initiative. In our group, Asana has helped to reduce the number of emails we send and simplify internal communications. We can, in literally seconds, share our notes, send attachments, track and find individual tasks, combine related tasks, and organize them by priority
What do you dislike about the product?
- lack of possibility to delegate a task to two people at the same time
- the need to become more familiar with the application and regularly check for new tasks
- the need to become more familiar with the application and regularly check for new tasks
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana facilitates the way we communicate and collaborate on multiple sentences in our team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is an essential tool for any team that wants to easily organize project work, communicate with each other, assign tasks and send attachments.
Great task and project manager for teams
What do you like best about the product?
Asana makes it easy to have both private tasks and shared tasks with specific collaborators or teammates. I also like the projects feature, which makes it easier to organize tasks. I love that I can set preferences for how to sort my personal task list. My favorite Asana feature is that sometimes you are rewarded with a cute animation upon marking a task complete.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana can get messy if you and your teammates are not on the same page about projects and about which types of work warrant an individual Asana task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
While teleworking, Asana has been integral to my communications team completing our work on time and being aware of project deadlines and our teammates' progress on their portions of the project. Asana makes it easy to pull up a teammate's current task list so you can easily estimate how busy they might be during a specific period.
Great Platform for Collaborative or Multistep Projects
What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to keep tabs on tasks that are due and see where a project is at in the different stages of completion.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notification options are confusing and hard to personalize.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work with multiple clients who have a team of individuals that have to complete certain tasks prior to my work on the project. Asana allows me to check in at any time to see the progress of projects and see when tasks are due.
A versatile and productive work space
What do you like best about the product?
The communication is very fluid thanks to its excellent chat channel, thanks to this it is easy to have a communication with the team and carry out a more synchronized work, the asana interface is easy to use and in which you can carry out a better management of tasks and multiple functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
First of all, asana is a large program, so it takes a considerable period of time to learn how to handle it perfectly and another detail is that you can not assign the same task to two team members, it is an important defect that limits the time to complete a task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This program has helped me to be more organized with the tasks I do every day, as well as with the tasks that are assigned to my work team, the facility to be in contact with the whole team makes the work have a better result.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This work tool can be used in both small and large companies or enterprises, providing workers with support to improve their performance.
Great teamwork space, easy to use and productive
What do you like best about the product?
I like how there are multiple chat spaces to talk to all of your team members. All channels are pretty organized and you can view both your tasks for WFH and all your communication channels all in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
I believe there is a little bit of a learning curve when it comes to first getting on the platform. I don‘t think, during my time using Asana, that I was able to fully learn ALL of the features that could have been useful to my line of work. I think there are shortcuts that I should have figured out but just couldn‘t do.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working with Asana, I‘m able to review what my boss has assigned to me for the day and am able to follow the article‘s progress as it moves from In-Review to Edited to Published. This allows me to keep track of what I‘ve done and what needs to be done, still. I also am able to keep all my chats with this team in one place, which eliminates the need for extra e-mails and figuring out who is all on the e-mail list.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Since there are so many platforms out there, it can be hard to sort through which is best for your team. Although you can‘t go wrong with most, Asana is definitely a user-friendly platform for all of us working from home now. For the future, I‘m assuming most of us will be considering a hybrid WFH and go in-office. This is great for both.
