Coordinate teams and projects beautifully
What do you like best about the product?
I love that asana is a flexible tool that is not pushing the user to a specific working methodology. Instead, asana allows the user to see and organise the information in different ways, making it a versatile option that will suite all kind of needs for different departments and industries in one single place.
Also, I love that asana gives managers a complete overview of what is going on inside the company and on each department, and gives employees a detailed view on their daily, weekly and monthly priorities so nothing falls into the cracks. Making progress tracking a breeze.

What do you dislike about the product?
It has a big learning curve, which may frustrate some newbie users if they don´t have a consultant that can guide them on best practices and walk them through how to digitalise their processes into the tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Visibility. Asana is great to have the big picture of the company, department or team. This helps reducing duplicated tasks, unnecessary interactions, and quickly find the information you need to move forward with a task.
Productivity.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you´re looking to unify all your tools into one place, asana is the way to go.
Asana is helpful but could be better
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has a very user friendly UI, and you can get your team setup within minutes. There is no in-depth training required to be able to use the program, however there is a wide range of functionality that can be used to further optimise your teams performance.
What do you dislike about the product?
Once a task has been edited or a step completed there is a convoluted process to retrace the step. As an example if the step has been marked completed by the team member it is difficult for a team leader to mark that specific task back to "In process".
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I used Asana whilst working for a news website and it allowed me to work on a few different article series at the same time and keep track of my progress on each article written within different departments.
Easy to use system to stay organized in tasks
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to use and clearly displays tasks that need to be done. Collobarotation with teammates is simple and it is helpful to have an area to leave comments or feedback.
What do you dislike about the product?
If an item does not have a deadline set it is not difficult for it be hidden as it sits off the screen if you do not scroll down.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps stay on task and show you what other team members are working on so you can be proactive in helping them stay on time if you know they will need your help.
Good project management software
What do you like best about the product?
Pretty easy to learn and use. I like that I can assign task to team members with due date along with notes to the team. I also like that you can create multiple projects and only assign the people to them that are involved with that project.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sections are great for splitting up different stages of a project, but once you complete the tasks, you can't clear the section without deleting what tasks were associated with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
great for working with clients - we're able to have a central spot for project management.
Great tool for managing tasks across teams
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to see a calendared view of team tasks
What do you dislike about the product?
The only issues I've had so far is that finding where/how to make tasks recurring is not immediately obvious. Once the option is found, setting a task to recurring after it has already been completed does nothing. A user has to mark the task not complete and then mark it complete again. This causes issues with reviewing, but is a one-time issue per task.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is helping the team manage a process with a lot of time-sensitive tasks and helping managers stay on top of issues.
Great visualisation tool
What do you like best about the product?
Fluidity of timelines & dependency tracking, it allows us to see in real time how things are planning out
It also allows us to see the cause and effect of moving work based on priority
It also allows us to see the cause and effect of moving work based on priority
What do you dislike about the product?
Setting the security on each project is more complicated than it should be.
At the start we made project locked down but didn't realise that they weren't!
Also adding people to tasks gives them visibility over the whole project, sometimes that's not required

We are using it across departments for visibility and project tracking
Great collaboration tool for Marketing teams
What do you like best about the product?
Simple to use, yet packed full of powerful features, I've been an Asana user for years. I've tried a lot of tool for project and task management and it's the only one I've consistently come back to. The design and layout is carefully thought through and intuitive and most of all it's fast. While other tools promise endless features they end up getting in the way, with too many clicks required to do simple things like reorganise or complete tasks. Not Asana. It's perfect for team work and project management. I've used it heavily for planning and executing marketing campaigns with teams of creatives and marketing co-ordinators.
What do you dislike about the product?
About 2 years ago Asana went on a mission to roll out a LOT of new features. While overall I think they did this well, there's still the danger that as they add more "stuff" it will lose its focus as a project management tool and will become cumbersome to use. It still requires a bit of training for people not used to working with PM tools and you have to keep on top of how people use it, or they'll fill it with junk, but that's true of all PM tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing remote, distributed teams, with both internal and external stakeholders is a breeze in Asana. Standard processes like the steps needed to create and roll out a marketing campaign across 12 countries are simple with Templates. We even used it to track and approve invoices. It's super flexible.
Productive Project Management for Teams

It might be too much for freelancers, but for teams handling multiple projects it's practical and efficient

Check it out if you are managing projects with your team, especially with remote work
Powerful Task Management Tool

What do you dislike about the product?
Many functions are behind paywalls (several tiers)

Collaborating with teams
Asana - the most versatile Project Management Tool available!
What do you like best about the product?
- price / value for money comparing to other similar project management tools/software.
- intuitive interface / not a big learning curve. Even inexperienced team-members can start using Asana straight away and collaborate with no issues, thus minimizing communication friction among the team and increase productiveness.
- versatility. Asana does not constrict you in a certain way to use the tool. You have the ability to adopt any framework you want like Agile, Scrum, Kanban without restriction - while at the same time offering pre-set templates to kickstart your projects with ease without locking you in a rigid approach/way of project management.

What do you dislike about the product?
- Portfolio option available only to Business-tier members. In general the sell to the Business plan is quite hard as there are workarounds that can be implemented to achieve the same goals in the Premium tier.
- There is no ability to not include certain members to the Business-tier. This is a bit odd as only managers would need to have the features available in this tier and not the whole team. It would be great if there could be a distinction so when in Business plan only certain members could have access to the most advanced features. Having access to the Portfolio feature for example does not make sense for a team member that does not need this zoomed-out, birds eye view on their daily workflow.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
- Project Management for Digital Media Projects - from website creation boards / to-do lists to Bugs boards to Promo boards in order to manage internal workflows so that all team-members are aware what are their tasks, what everyone is doing and what is the status of each project - without bombarding each other via emails or IMs, everyone is on the same page about different projects in the easiest way possible, minimizing communication friction and saving time with a piece of mind.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
My advice to those evaluating Asana is that is the best tool if you want to manage an array of different Digital Media projects, as it is not rigid but quite flexible in letting you apply the PM framework you want or hybrid approaches where and when needed. You can manage Site creation workflows, Product creation workflows, Promo-Offer workflows while also have the dev-team following up with Bugs and Improvements in a more defined Agile / sprint based way.
The implementation with the team is quite easy as the intuitive interface permits for small learning curve even for team members that didn't have previous expose to the concept or project management or other project management tools and is a great introductory tool for them as also stands really good for professionals with more advanced granular needs for control with the ability to add custom fields and amazing Filtering/Reporting options.
With a great documentation, pre-selected templates for a variety of projects and also a very useful community forum, Asana is a tool that when implemented on the team's daily workflow will minimize workflow bottlenecks, increase productivity, save time and also help the team achieve the goals needed with a more focused communication that makes all the difference needed.
Highly recommended!
