What do you like best about the product?
If you've ever managed a team, you know that it's challenging to stay on top of everything — especially complicated projects. Asana makes it easy for teams to organize and manage projects, regardless of size or scope. I really like the way Asana provides prebuilt templates for different types of projects, which makes it easy to get started. I also appreciate that most of the key features are available for free, making it easy to use and test Asana fully over a few months before committing to using it long-term.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, there isn't much I don't like about Asana. One of the main downsides had been that there was no desktop application, but Asana recently added one that works well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
By using Asana, our team has been able to stay on top of various projects and ensure we aren't letting anything slip through the cracks. One of the main ways we use Asana is to manage all of our external emails and social posts for various campaigns. It's a great way to make sure everyone on our team knows what is going out and when.
The ONLY project management tool you will ever need
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can structure it however you want to use it. It syncs with Google Calendar and many other apps.
What do you dislike about the product?
The one downside, I think is that you can't download as a PDF.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest benefit of Asana for me is that you can create it however you want. I love too that you can tag tasks and that you can tag people into the conversations without adding them into the project.
Asana is amazing

I dislike that asana is a little difficult to grasp at first but once I learned the program it was easy.

Asana - Organization that Goes Beyond the Expected
What do you like best about the product?
I'm the Marketing Strategist for a financial institution with over 450,000 members, I have ADHD, and I LOVE Asana. It's simple to learn and capable of so much. Asana has what you would expect from any project/team management tool (create tasks, project templates, assign individuals, due dates, etc.), but it excels in so much more. The user interface is clean, modern, and easy to navigate. Beyond the expected, Asana adds features that enrich the experience and simplify project/team management. I am a huge fan of applying rules that automatically organize tasks across different projects, and add comments to or change the status of tasks when criteria is met. I love the different displays that are available for projects. I use the timeline display (Gant chart) to plan and organize our campaign calendar for the year, the board display to monitor and update the statuses of campaigns I am developing, and the list display for task management across teams.
The Asana mobile app is the perfect companion for continued management when I'm away from the desk. I love being able to add and update tasks when I'm on the move, comment on updates, and know that my team is on top of things.
The Asana team is absolutely fantastic! They are active in their efforts to improve all that Asana can do, and do it by listening to the needs of their users. I appreciate all of their outreach and encouragement to simplify life. The Asana community is also a great resource for learning how others across the spectrum are using Asana to accomplish great things.
Asana enhanced my ability to succeed so quickly that I jumped on their ambassador program within a few months of becoming a user. It is seriously so easy and useful. Productivity has nearly doubled in every area of my life that I use Asana. I primarily use it at work but also for my personal life, and now I have my church leaders using it as well.

What do you dislike about the product?
Whenever there has been a feature that I desired Asana to have, like task templates, Asana has always been 10 steps ahead and adds or updates the desired features in a timely manner. One update that I'm still waiting on, but know is on their radar, is to have guest/stakeholder accounts for those who would benefit from viewing and commenting on tasks only but won't count as one of the available but limited seats on my team.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Because of its clean interface, Asana has become the single source of truth for all of our campaign communication. The My Tasks tab helps members easily identify the tasks that need attention. The Portfolio tab helps us quickly understand the health of all campaigns that are running and in development. I am able to keep a pulse on 5-10 live campaigns while developing 3-5 more at the same time.
It's a time saver! The archive allows us to quickly find past projects or tasks to reference. Project and task templates remove the tediousness of creating new projects. Automated notifications help projects progress on time, if not faster.
One of the biggest problems Asana helps solve is team member accountability. Everyone knows everyone's tasks, and the organization of it all promotes on-time work and keeps stress levels much lower when the workload is higher than normal.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
You will move mountains if you commit yourself and your team to use Asana as your single (or at least primary) source of truth.
A great tool for project management!
What do you like best about the product?
The advanced features make this platform so useful - portfolio management, dependent tasks, status update templates, and more.
What do you dislike about the product?
These features should be available to everyone!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps our team workplan and provides transparency across the organization. It's been invaluable for asynchronous communication, tying discussions to the relevant project information.

Just go for it!
I've used Asana daily for 4+ years to organize my business, projects, and my personal life.
What do you like best about the product?
Best interface - flying narwhals and unicorns! Sign me up. In all seriousness, I find the interface much easier to navigate than competitors like Trello. Everything is easier to find. The color scheme is better. I like that I can break things up into organizations, workspaces, projects, boards, task lists, etc. I also really love the Gantt chart capability and the fact that I can integrate Asana with so many other tools. It also works on mobile and updates in real-time. You can also share/store docs within projects. Did I mention I love this tool? Seriously, give it a try!
What do you dislike about the product?
There is a bit of a learning curve, but it is worth it. When we refine our daily habits and schedules, it takes time to get used to those changes. This tool is no different - it is a tool that you must learn to use and how to use it well. At first, I made a big list of all of the things that I needed to do, wanted to do, etc., and that list was compiled from random notes, post-its, etc. Once I got all of that together, I then had to figure out how I wanted to organize it so that it made sense, was easy to locate items, and actually led to action (i.e. getting stuff done). I have reworked how my projects are set up a few times, but that is only due to my personal preference and it was fairly easy to do.
One other thing I would avoid with Asana: sub-tasks. I just never found these to be helpful and they actually make my task lists more confusing. A "sub-task" can sometimes evolve into a project, so it can be a pain to have it buried somewhere at that point. So, I write out each of my to-dos for each project as tasks within a "board", and then I drag/drop those tasks into the appropriate columns. Columns can be labeled and arranged however you want; mine usually include a "to-do" column and a "reference" column for just one "task" card where I store all of my notes for upcoming meetings related to that project board.
