Great tool for project management

  • October 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a cost effective platform with a very supportive surface for project management. Projects and departments are easy to handle and set up. Although it lacks certain useful features provided by other software for task management such as JIRA. Asana has a really good optical look and is very well constructed. This works in an easily understandable manner to organize programs, timetables, and assign activities. It offers a good version of the app.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has informal interface and lacks certain reporting features. You can't switch between Kanban and regular view after you've created a project. It's somewhat pricey and may deter smaller enterprises.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps me organize my team and track projects efficiently. It is a very fun, immersive application that motivates the users in a timely manner to complete tasks. Some software may jeopardize the design of an easy-to-use interface, while others may sacrifice the elegance of their app to look vibrant and new. Asana is doing both! Our team makes regular use of Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a nice project management tool and you should give it a try.

What do you like best about the product?
I like how intuitive Asana is. It is self-explanatory and requires minimal onboardibg and training of the platform.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how there are too many choices for customization.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I’m solving basic project management problems including tracking teammates’ progression.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Assign one project manager to assign and organize tasks in each individual project.

It helps us stay organized, but can sometimes can be frustrating.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the modern design of the web interface and the extensive options for tasks, subtasks, etc. We also benefit from the extensive task features, like subtasks, dependent tasks, and uploading documents within specific tasks. I also enjoy some of the new updates to the inbox feature. For example, now I can filter my inbox to only show updates from tasks assigned to myself. These are good updates!
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features are unintuitive and needlessly time-consuming. For example, when trying to remove dates for multiple tasks at one time you run into problems. Another thing we dislike was the addition of a new pricing tier for new features. It would have been nice to extend the benefits to existing users. Also, adding clients to our projects can be confusing at times, as its hard to control the number of notifications and emails they get initially.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps us keep client projects organized, on-time, and helps us keep team members updated on task progress. With Asana we've been able to make sure that client work doesn't fall through the cracks. We've also been able to easily share files and project updates with our team. Overall, Asana helps us improve team efficiency and communication.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to learn how to use the features under the hood. These can make the difference between it working and not working for your team.

Great Group Collab tool! Worth Trying

  • October 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The brilliant UI accommodates a perfect and sorted out approach to add assignments to your rundown, alter undertakings, and check errands off when finished. As I fundamentally utilize this product for business purposes for cooperation with colleagues inside my office, it is a one-stop-shop that has disposed of paper agendas, clingy notes, and schedules, by joining these in a smooth web interface. The convenience brings about regular assignment refreshes which can be seen and remarked on by the whole group, guaranteeing errands are not missed or overlooked. As I am regularly chipping away at numerous ventures all the while consistently, the comfort of adding new undertakings and errands to individual activities is incredibly useful to remain composed, see the majority of the pending assignments, and timetable time likewise dependent on consummation dates you have inputted for each errand. Another extraordinary component is connecting messages to specific activities in Asana; a fast duplicate of the URL for the venture in the stage, and you can without much of a stretch send messages and connections legitimately into Asana for easy recording. As a free programming, Asana is a brilliant apparatus to use for bunch cooperation, or for individual use to ensure you are viably overseeing agenda, undertakings and tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
The significant drawback to Asana utilized in a workplace is that undertakings can't be allocated needs, which can bring about successive registration on the rundown to guarantee you are organizing assignments appropriately. A shading coded need strategy would be amazingly useful in raising high need assignments over the rest. As Asana is a cloud-based programming, idleness can now and then be an issue bringing about a deferral in composing and moving among ventures and errands, however this is just a minor comfort. As a result we settled on another app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have had the option to streamline bunch association and coordinated effort into a solitary source. Asana has kept current arrangements of undertaking related errands, and guarantee colleagues know about, and finishing assignments by the given consummation deadlines. Asana has additionally diminished email mess caused from visit 'to and fro' messages for little remarks between colleagues by giving a solitary area to remark on, and update statuses of errands. Generally speaking, Asana has been an extraordinary app that has given a huge positive change in the manner we impart and track venture statuses in our group.

It’s So Easy!

What do you like best about the product?
My RAs were hesitant about using Asana at first because, per one of my top RAs, ‘it’s just another piece of technology and I hate having all this technology to keep up with’.
Well, Baby Girl, this is 2019, and gone are the days using paper forms and obnoxiously hounding my staff because I don’t know the progress. I see their progress on team projects, I can congratulate the folks that’re on the ball and get their tasks done, and encourage them to go light a small fire under the butts of the students that’re slacking (and scaring them a little by saying, “it’s better if you hear it come from me rather than Billy because if he finds out you’re behind...he’ll have you in a chokehold during the next staff meeting.”
It helps me heard the cats that are my 18-23 year old ‘adult’ staff, and even the one that was reticent to change and having just another thing to keep up with...she came around and said, “okay, I don’t hate it like I thought I would.” Trust me...that’s high praise coming from that little ray of sunshine and sprinkles.
What do you dislike about the product?
I had some problems getting some tasks assigned...it was a tinge cumbersome and redundant, but once that was out of the way, it was smooth sailing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Read my ‘What Do You Like Best’ response because I answered that pretty much.

Love the functionality and features that allows my direct report and I to manage projects and our weekly meetings. Also love the sub tasks options that allows managers to provide detailed direction when needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't love using it for larger teams where you have to provide more context.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Streamlining communications and provide clear direction on action/items and priorities.

Great for small teams, gets cluttered for larger teams

  • October 22, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is very easy to use and combines not only some well known project management concepts like kanban boards but also adds a twist on how you navigate and filter work. Great for small teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
When your team grows beyond say 15 people, work gets really cluttered and adopting a SCRUM or similar project management strategy that uses a more advanced tool such as JIRA becomes necessary, especially if you need flexibility and can afford the initial setup.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps manage smaller teams and is great if you have a small team of freelancers that are self-starters. If you need to keep a closer eye on the work (say if there is a rapidly approaching deadline) or you have a larger team, there are better alternatives but for small teams, Asana is almost always the way to go.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you are selecting the right tool from the start. If you're a small team, chances are it's Asana but if it turns out one specific tool isn't right for you, it's really hard to change during a project.

Useful for content marketing an planning

  • October 22, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The board system allows us to move through content marketing projects and manage content ideas and content strategy.
What do you dislike about the product?
Project management workflows could be improved a bit. I'd like to see functionality where we can set up timelines for people to work on specific parts of one task. Right now, only one person can be assigned to a task at a time.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
More organization and clarity into the content marketing process. Visibility to others outside our team into the important work that we do.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure everyone is committed to maintaining their work, otherwise, things quickly get outdated.
