Standard Project Mgmt System at Work
What do you like best about the product?
I like how you can see all of the projects in the pipeline on your dashboard in one place. I also like how we can send Asana forms to our cross-functional teammates to organize their thoughts into a brief, as my team is service-based.
What do you dislike about the product?
One big limitation of Asana is that it can be difficult to route new work streams. For example, I had to take a work stream off of my colleague's plate but the notification system is still messed up and it's difficult to fix. Also, the way that our project manager has programmed our separate work streams can be confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can see all of our ongoing initiatives in one place and update their statuses through each phase of the campaign process. It is certainly better than keeping a personal to-do list or trying to keep track of everything in your head. It's helpful that we can see the details from each cross-functional colleague in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure you know how to organize yourself before trying this product
Asana Review
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is user-friendly, feature-rich, and has a lot of customization options.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lack of bidirectional synchronization with various SaaS applications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana to track our team projects, and it does a great job at that.
Organized and streamlined
What do you like best about the product?
Asana allows users to easily Create and assign tasks- I appreciate how simple and streamlined the process is. You can easily Organize your workflow day to day.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was more of time tracking features so we could view what areas we spend the most time on. There are also a lot of features that I haven't needed to explore so it could potentially be more simple.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Day-to-day organization of projects and tasks. When things get busy, it's easy for a simple task to get overlooked. With asana, I create the task/memo as soon as I get the request and it stays on my radar.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Easy to track tasks, however does not track timing.
Nice tool, but too much email clutter!
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to view projects and manage tasks in several different ways. Switching between views gives project managers a big picture perspective on where the project stands.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile app is not very efficient, the app is generally fine, but it can be tough to use. This software tends to work better on a full computer screen. I also did not like the number of emails I used to get from Asana with notifications.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It was super easy to automate processes, repetitive tasks, and workflows. Automating processes helps ensure things get done the right way while eliminating repetitive tasks to free up time for more important activities.
Great tool to organize tasks for multiple Departments
What do you like best about the product?
Tasks can organized quickly and easily thanks to asana
What do you dislike about the product?
The "look and feel" of asana is too simple
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems that I am solving are to see what I need to do every day; it creates a very specific organized calendar that can be reached from any device.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend companies to do a POC of Asana to make sure it fulfills their demands.
Basic Task List
What do you like best about the product?
Asana offers a great place to dump all of your tasks, then create headers to nest them all under.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana could use an aesthetic facelift to feel less heavy. Makes me uninterested in doing some tasks, lol.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy brain dump area for tasks, then we can assign, categorize, and dive deeper with subtasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is a great place to get started with task lists. It's simple to use, a list. Right off the notepad onto the screen!
Great for keeping everything in one place but takes some time to get used to
What do you like best about the product?
Asana helps you keep all your ideas, projects, and tasks in one place. I love being able to switch between board and list views.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you use Asana by yourself, not as part of a team, it takes a lot to get used to having to assign a task to yourself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana for content planning, website updates, and tracking goals.
A Good Project Managament Tool with Very nice UX but lacks in Features
What do you like best about the product?
Me & my team have used Asana 2 years back. That time there were not much options. Jira was very costly for us as our company was a small startup, so we used Asana. It was good to start with, the UX is really amazing and there presence over different ecosystems is also commandable.
What do you dislike about the product?
So even though we have tried Asana, we couldn't scale up our product management with it cause it lacked some of the necessary external integrations. As our team became larger, we needed those integrations to maintain accountability over sections and manage task+code syncs. Also, the pricing has become a bit on the higher side now; in that price range, you can get other software that offers many more features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were doing the product management entirely with Asana, starting with creating epics, tasks, features to assigning them to respective teams, and then tracking those tasks and bugs.
Asana organizes teams
What do you like best about the product?
Asana allows multiple teams to track their work while also sharing it with other teams. It's an easy way for a large group to know what's happening across a company.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some features in Asana are not intuitive. For example, it is too easy o delete a task when trying to click on or update the details portion of the task. Asana could improve usability in those small details, but overall it's a good product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We have used Asana to build a company-wide content calendar. We also use it to notify other teams about our current projects and fill them in on the details of our work, including where to find it within our CMS.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure you're ready to share work across workgroups.
Useful for some, not for all
What do you like best about the product?
It is helpful to have a central hub for all tasks that people need to work on, primarily if you are used to having tickets open across multiple platforms. And the display is fun and easy to interact with.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some employers I have worked with use Asana in the hope of it streamlining our work, but it just added another source to check. And some jobs, if the work is less quantitive and more qualitative, it is not a helpful way to track performance.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows employers to have a hub for all tasks that a team needs to accomplish, and it will enable people to see progress and what other people are working on. Visibility and accountability!
