Perfect application to organise, track and manage my work as a researcher and lecturer
What do you like best about the product?
intuitive and compelling interface, colour coding, tags, collapsible sections.
What do you dislike about the product?
pricing for the education sector; that 'start date' is a premium feature
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
First of all, I have decluttered my calendar. Furthermore, I have re-organised the (paper-heavy) workflow for the seminars that I am teaching at the university. When planning and teaching, I now ONLY work digitally with Asana to plan each session, tasks for students that I have to prepare, scans that I have to upload to the university's e-learning platform and so on. Additionally, I use Asana as an editorial calendar to execute scholarly communication through different social media channels for the research project that I am working in. It is also great to write proposals or concept papers collaboratively: e.g. different sections of a concept paper can be assigned to different team members. Most importantly: I now save myself from receiving too many e-mails, especially in terms of website and social media management; now if there is anything to add to the website or to post via social media channels, I get a task assigned or request information via Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Even with the free version, you will be able to declutter your tasks and organise your own workflow. Use the "My Tasks" section. Use boards and lists for different types of 'projects' (and yes: to plan a university course is a 'project'). Don't be put off by the 'marketing charm' of Asana: It can very well be used to track and organise tasks in fields such as academia, research project management, scholarly communication.
Great task manager app!
What do you like best about the product?
I can create tasks and assign them to my colleagues. I can also select who could access/follow the said task. I could also create personal projects and design it (Kanban style, etc). I could set deadlines for each one and also set up notifications/reminders for it. The best feature it has is the custom animations whenever I finish a task. There are unicorns or cats depending on your settings! It makes me motivated to complete more work.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit pricey for organization plans. It has limited features for trial users which is understandable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps our organization in keeping track of what needs to be done. We can also visualize the progress of each project. It also keeps our employees in sticking to their tasks. We do not need to send daily updates as everything can be managed/reviewed in Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a really good tool but it might be costly bigger teams.
Organize your teams and projects with asana
What do you like best about the product?
there are many asana functionalities that I love, so I consider it to be one of the most complete task management tools on the market. It has a considerably intuitive interface for the number of applications it has, which has benefited me and my team, mainly when working with multiple design projects, so we can prioritize each of the activities depending on the delivery time and priority of projects. really is an excellent tool to keep the whole team and customers informed about the progress of projects, get notifications directly to the mail, and helps considerably increase the productivity of the entire company, having a tool to capture all the objectives and also allows you to track the activities.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a couple of things that I consider in what you can continue developing the application, the first has to do with the initial load of the page, which becomes a bit slow. And the second has to do with its mobile application, which does not have all the functions of its desktop version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To manage design projects within the company and work as a team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking for a very powerful tool to manage projects, tasks, a work team, I recommend you use asana, which has a very comfortable interface, a lot of features that make your job much easier, and its free version is very good, and if you have more demanding requirements you can easily move to its paid version.

Asana is a cornerstone towards the success of businesses of today.
What do you like best about the product?
There is a revolving door of resources when it comes to Asana. With the program always evolving, I've found extreme use from tutorials, the community, and live/in-person events. The user interface is lovely.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Asana was more affordable as I build my business.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team is completely remote so between Asana and Slack, the two exists as our virtual offices.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
GO FOR IT! Asana is essential.
Perfectly managed my tasks with this app!
What do you like best about the product?
All I can say are great things for this application. It serves well for it's purpose of being the perfect platform in doing daily tasks. It allows its user to prioritize what's important by setting a due date and by allowing to rearrange tasks on feed by the user's choice. It also lets the user assign a task very easily. It accurately finds all relevant task with a simple input of a keyword on the search bar which allows for an easy backtrack.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't see anything I do not like on this application.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems on forgetting important tasks is completely solved. All that you need to remember, you can simply create a task for it and set your deadline and add people who are involved.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Please have a reminder notification for tasks nearing their due dates.
Gamechanger
What do you like best about the product?
My entire team now uses Asana several times a day. We have a much better grasp on which tasks are urgent and we collect all information about a task the same place.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you don't have clear conventions, it will easily get confusing. A thorough cleaning of old projects is very important.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collect information one place

Do it, but make clear conventions for usage.
Awesome product for tasks management - Customise it based on your needs
What do you like best about the product?
Lots of things. We do literally everything through Asana, from HR to product design and development.
It's what we use the most, all tools combined.

What do you dislike about the product?
Templates are hard to use properly. They're fine if the templates don't evolve, but not easy to get by when templates are updated and "duplicates" aren't. Could use a way to sync those based on different strategies.
Also, copy/pasting tasks doesn't copy the description or sub tasks, which doesn't help to manually update projects created from templates.
Also, there are really dumb things that Asana is missing out, like allowing Markdown for tasks description or comments. That would be very useful and could also allow us to use Asana as a "rich-text" content platform, where we could write tutorials, guide and such.

We handle our HR integration, product design, product development, marketing, strategy, lots of things really.
We were using Trello before, but Asana is on a complete different level of quality of communication and interactions.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try, one of Asana's best quality is its flexibility: You adapt it to your needs, not the other way around.
Asana Review
What do you like best about the product?
Something that sets apart Asana from the competition is the ability to repeat tasks. In my professional and personal life, the ability to create a task and have it repeat has been a very useful tool. I also like that I can create teams. I am an admin in my work and I can create just an admin team. We have operations, managers, and sales as well. It allows us to create different projects based on what we do in the organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
I want more add-ons. My work goes between Trello and Asana because Trello has a style that fits our needs as a company but Asana is better for tasks and communication. We are working on making the switch but it must meet the needs of everything Trello does, which it does, but I need add-ons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At my work we track jobs. Delivery scheduled, jobs in progress, called off jobs, and complete jobs. Every department in the company is needed to make a job go throughout its process. Sales are first, then operations, and then admin, and back around. The benefits of Asana is that we can assign tasks to people to make sure the task is getting done.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Watch the training videos. Due to Asana being more advanced than most other applications, Trello included, it can almost be overwhelming and confusing. If you watch the videos it allows you to better understand everything and know what is the right style you need for what you are trying to accomplish.
Asana Raises the Bar for Optimized Workflow
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful aspects of Asana for me are the user interface (colorful, easy to use, intuitive) and the customer support (very responsive and friendly/willing to help). I also value the community aspect of Asana Together. I like how Asana encourages users to become Ambassadors or Certified Pros, and Asana entrusts them to be creative and lead their own events in their communities/with their teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside of Asana is that I wish there was an Event Planning template on the Basic version of Asana, so I could test it out with my team before deciding to upgrade to Premium (I understand that I can do the 30 day free trial).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Asana I am solving the problem of assigned workflows and breaking up tasks between my team and me. I've realized that Asana helps me stay on track. I used to use calendar reminders for all my 'to-do' items, but I've been trying to move all my reminders over to Asana, so everything is in one place and so there is transparency w/ my team, to communicate to them which tasks I'm working on, and the ability of my available bandwidth.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You won't regret trying out the Basic version, and then decide if you'd need Premium/Business/etc. It'll bring insight into ways you can improve your workflow.
