A great team hub for most of my collaborative work activities
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to set up projects and tasks in Asana. The control panel has bright colors and is engaging to use overall. The various progress meters motivate me and the people I collaborate with to get things done and marked and completed. Getting started with Asana didn't take long at all. I was able to get my account set up and connected with my group within an hour. Using the buttons and cards to update projects is very smooth and not too technical for me. There are also loads of templates geared towards very common field-specific projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are certain projects that have taken us a long time to set up. For more advanced project specification and configurations, we have to dig around for further information and do some trial and error to make things fit the way we needed. So basically, I don't feel it will always work so well out of the box for absolutely every business or creative project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana keeps everyone abreast of project activities and status updates. We can get a quick glance at everything that's going and what needs to be done. For me, it has greatly reduced lots of the stress that I once had when I would jot project notes down and email information around to different team members. The Asana system keeps everyone more on the same page and serves as a hub for documents and files related to our projects.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana works great on its own for many business and creative projects, but you should definitely explore the many extensions that are offered to further your use of the platform. You can also integrate it with popular cloud-based software like CRM and online storage accounts.
Manage your tasks and activities from the web.
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has very good characteristics for the development of projects and activities, I can keep my team working and what really matters, another of the advantages of asana is having a notification system that alerts when an activity is a point expire. This tool is ideal for tracking large projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
Its interface lacks a little more color, in my opinion, I think it should be customizable at sea, and something I can not find is an option to prioritize tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my case, I am a web programmer, asana allows me to share with my colleagues all my changes and updates, I can upload files so my team can see them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Before using this tool take into account that you will need a time to adapt to use it, once you achieve it you will be able to obtain incredible benefits in your work.
excellent project/task management tool
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can add others and provide visibility to your team of the projects and task you are accountable for. Useful to build in collaboration between your teams.
Also helps tracking, assigning and setting deadlines.
Also helps tracking, assigning and setting deadlines.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is not as user friendly as it seems. You need someone to teach you all the perks of how to use the tool properly. Get the assistance in order to ensure efficient usage of the tool and all its capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project and task management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure it is a tool that makes sense for all parties involved.
Control your activities and projects as a team
What do you like best about the product?
It is a very complete platform with which I can organize my projects and activities, it allows me to be able to sort and add activities to my calendar, I can upload all kinds of files and I can also keep track of the activities of my team.
What do you dislike about the product?
The search for the cards is not as good as I would like, in addition, in addition the application on Android and Iphone still needs many improvements.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Asana we avoid hiring project managers, since the administration of the activities is carried out in an easy and simple way, also with it we can keep the ideas of all the members in one place.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you have time to train your team to be able to use this tool, it will be very helpful at work.
Great Tool but Expensive Pricing Plans
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a project management tool I use for assigning tasks to interns and employees, keeping projects on track across the organization, and managing tasks associated to projects within and outside of my department. It allows me to see projects at a 3000-foot view when I get too consumed with details.
What do you dislike about the product?
It is too expensive. Across my organization, several teams use Asana. An implementation of Asana is exorbitantly high. It would give us access to more project templates like gaant charts and custom tools. Asana should consider letting individual users upgrade themselves (and not their teams) or purchase templates separately.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Some use it to manage ad hoc teams while departments use it to communicate across projects. We also use it to create an automated workflow with the email-to-project system.
I Like the Software
What do you like best about the product?
I love that you can collaborate with a team in a more organized way. Scheduling future assignments per team member and what not.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes there's too many notifications. Like if a person on your team forgets to tag the specific person they're talking to, then everyone gets an update.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
File access and collaboration. Asana makes these things simple for everyone. Each person has access to the materials that they need to do their job. Team members can talk to other team members directly. So cool!
Asana Review
What do you like best about the product?
I am in Asana on a daily basis. I have never found a platform that keeps me so organized in such an easy way. My team does several marketing campaigns, which require a lot of daily tasks. Asana helps me stay on top of everything without missing a beat.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be difficult to search things in Asana sometimes. Unless your other team members have a good organizational structure (setting up projects, naming conventions, etc), things can be hard to find.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana to work across almost all teams in our company. It helps us all to stay extremely organized and able to comment on/see others’ projects.
Manage your projects with the amazing tools of Asana
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has useful functions such as subtasks, table view and calendar view, it also has functions with which I can see the status and progress of all my current projects in real time, so that it can keep everything in order, recently, a new one was added. characteristic of the Gantt chart that can be very useful for managing projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes some time to learn how to use each Asana function, since there are many features. I can say that their tools are easy to use once you work on them, but some users struggle with more specific functions, such as panels and communication tools.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With this tool I have been able to work in a team in a very easy way and it works well to coordinate each member and meet deadlines.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is easy to use, very intuitive, Asana will allow you to simplify your work.
Task management, well done but redundant
What do you like best about the product?
Asana provides a way to keep track of projects and priorities, things I'm not great at and tend to keep in my head. Everybody knows that it's helpful to make a list, and Asana lets you create a detailed list you can interact with in more meaningful ways than simply crossing off entries.
What do you dislike about the product?
Lots of other business software has its own means of planning and tracking progress; they make Asana superfluous. In these cases, the more detail you add to Asana, the more trouble you make for yourself.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana will help me keep on track with the numerous new responsibilities I'm about to have. As such, I haven't realized any real benefits yet. At the moment, I'm being told to use Asana to track my onboarding progress through the LMS, hence the redundancy complaint.
Powerful, robust, FREE platform with few limitations
What do you like best about the product?
I LOVE how much is included in the free version. I use Asana to organize work tasks but also personal tasks for managing my home & family with my husband. I love that you can be a part of teams to share responsibilities and easily assign tasks to one another.
Within each tasks, tasks are easily set to be recurring and to include notes or subtasks. Tagging is also easy and provides another way to view tasks.
It's also really handy that you can organize projects into categories using either a list view with subheadings or a more visual 'board' view.

What do you dislike about the product?
It is really inconvenient that you cannot drag/drop tasks in order of priority in the My Tasks view (list or calendar). While I understand that tasks are ordered based on if a time is assigned, I feel like most people look at their day's to-do list and would rather be able to order it based on when they plan to do it.
Things also get messy if you want to have a recurring tasks with also recurring sub-tasks. It often creates duplicates so you can't use this structure.
Lastly, you can't assign more than one person to a task. While Asana holds the position that assigning ONE person to be responsible promotes them actually getting it done, it does create some hassle when you have to create multiple tasks if multiple people are working on something together (i.e., a meeting or group project).

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps SO much being able to keep everything all in one place. There are so many different ways to organize, categorize, & view tasks to keep track of everything. It is so helpful to be able to collaborate with other team members and see the same tasks, progress, etc.
Personally, it has cut down on repetitive communication & lists with team members. We can easily say "check Asana" and check off tasks, even if the items were assigned to someone else! It also allows team members to easily check to see what someone has going on and how they can help (or hold off adding more to their list!)
Personally, recurring tasks take the "mental load" out of things I need to do every day, week, month, etc. Setting up a system automates my approach and makes more time for more important items.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take some time to set up a framework for how you will organize tasks using teams, projects, tasks, sub-tasks, tags, etc. Write instructions so that going forward, everything is consistent and you can rely on what you see in the app based on assignees & lists, etc.
