Easy to use with tight integrations

  • June 03, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana's integration with my time management tool works fantastically and seamlessly. I never even think about the process, because it just works.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish they supported mobile on the web client, but that's about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I use Asana to receive tasks from my PM and keep track of my estimated and actual hours working on a project. Not having to worry about time tracking, and having clear communication with my coworkers, lets me focus on getting the work done well.

One of the best task management tools

  • May 31, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the fact that you can create tasks and organize them as easy as making using a simple todo list app on your phone. You type your task and can drag them and make dependencies too that way. The design is pleasing to the eye and, for a visual person like me, helps layout all projects in an organized fashion. See everything across your team in a holistic view. Create dependencies and track progress with assignments, timestamps, and updates.
What do you dislike about the product?
Honestly, not a whole lot. At this point, I can't think of any improvements outside of maybe a color picker to assign colors outside of the standard options they currently provide.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is a beautiful and flexible tool for managing your project and for team collaboration. The tool provides a very simple and easy to use GUI that provides you with quick buttons for all the common things you would need, such as creating a new project or task, assigning users, notifications, scheduling, permissions, watchers, etc. I am pretty impressed as all these options are available right on the main window in a very intuitive manner, as opposed to a bunch of buttons being cluttered in one area or options buried within menu trees.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The Asana app is a great tool when working on a group project. It's simple to assign people to a task. The task reminders and due date help you manage and stay on top of what needs to get done.

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is an excellent tool with which I can manage all the tasks of my work, it allows me to make cards and in them I can add all kinds of documents or text, also something very good about Asana is that it allows me to work collaboratively.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like them to update their interface since I think it looks a bit old, and something I do not like about its functions is that I do not find the option to prioritize tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is a very useful tool for our design department because with it I can see the changes made by my colleagues in different tasks, it also organizes us to finish our work on time.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana can be a good option for a team of few people; However, for large teams, they must carry out studies to verify if it can be profitable, since it is a somewhat expensive software.

Clean and Useful

  • May 30, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use asana not only for daily and weekly tasks, but also to organize company passwords, logins, and other important information in a central area.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not many dislikes. I would maybe like a bit more of a focus on how the pages can be organized based on what your business is. Different user faces for different industries.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps keep me on track with my work, and helps me see what my co-workers are working on.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Think of it as a larger interface than it actually is. It's not just task management, but a hub where you can keep important notes, document links, and content related to the business. Putting it in a workspace sharing location keeps the content safer in the event of an employee leaving the workplace.

Asana - Task tracker for Professionals

  • May 29, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The list view that is more organized than Kanban apps like Trello. The ability to add subtasks. The ability to assign multiple people on the assign list, and have that work in conjunction with tasks and subtasks. Ability to add documents and view them. The ability to search for things on demand.
What do you dislike about the product?
The app and the mac version. It seems to be buggy and crashes a lot. The ability to only have teams limited to 20 people.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task management for a small team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it as initially it's free. Some competitors have come up that offer more for less, so the pricing is a problem area.

Asana helps us organize tasks

  • May 28, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like that you can make an assign tasks to individuals with deadlines. Also, the conversation area is great. IT keeps track of important information that we need to discuss about a project and keeps it for future reference through the entire project. I also enjoy the archive feature as it allows us to keep the information in perpetuity but not have to have it clutter our daily life.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the search feature, it does not seem to be robust enough and often seems difficult to view or interpret the results. I am not sure how I would change that but I would. I would also like the ability to prioritize things easier and for each person as well as make tasks dependent on the other but that is part of the premium option that we don't have.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are being more efficient in our workflow as well as not forgetting small parts of the job until the end so it is saving us time and hectic work environment.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
the free version seems worth it, it is hard to get older generations to adopt asana

A User-Friendly Task Management Tool

  • May 26, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
At Occasion Brands, we rely heavily on Asana to keep all teams on track with their tasks. My favorite part about Asana is the ability to customize my task list according to my needs i.e., not having the order default to something like oldest to newest task. I like to break up my personal task list according to priority, and the ability to reorder and add sections to my task list help with this significantly.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like that there can only be one person assigned to a task at one time, even if there is a "followers" option. There are tasks that occasionally need to be worked on by two people, but it will physically appear on one of the two people's personal task lists. This does open the possibility of forgetting about the task. Yes, there is an inbox that provides you updates about your tasks, but as someone who receives notifications at least thirty times from various tasks on any given day, it's easy to miss important updates sometimes especially on tasks that I am responsible for but not directly assigned. I can only do so much remind myself as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Asana, we are looking to communicate needs/information amongst different teams, maintain visibility on tasks that are incoming, in progress, or require review, and in certain cases, get written approvals. Having used Asana, I do appreciate that it can be customized to streamline communications between teams. Asana is especially key for our Project Managers who have to oversee a large pool of tasks at any given time and they may not necessarily have a direct hand it. Asana also helps keep teams accountable and transparent when it comes to statuses and meeting deadlines.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are considering Asana, I would take advantage of the customization that is available throughout the application. There may be an initial learning curve, but the most basic features can be learned within a day. If your team is very task-driven and requires a lot of back and forth that may not be easily achievable via email or in-person, Asana is helpful in that sense.
