Asana is a good solution!

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a great tool for task management and team collaboration.
Asana has a great team behind its product that constantly updates the platform to meet customer demand.
What do you dislike about the product?
As with all services, there is a learning curve to actually becoming proficient in using Asana, but that can be easily accomplished with a bit of time and practice.
The only thing I want to mention as a negative is the lack of an option to hide team members from the sidebar because they are shown on top of each project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Based on my experience, Asana is a great tool to coordinate small teams (or startups) and be more productive while keeping an eye on progress and bottlenecks.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the communication between my coworkers on our tasks, I also like the recurring option for tasks. This helps me not have to try to remember my weekly tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish it had a few more capabilities. We especially needed something that would also track our customers. I wish it had a few more cheaper options for companies like us ~ 501C3's that are working with a very limited budget.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
inter office communication is a huge reason i like Asana. i am able to see everything my coworker is doing on each task. how much she has pushed it out, the notes she has made on it, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take the time to learn what all it can do. very beneficial with inter office communication. take the time to set it up correctly.

Fantastic for recurring tasks and projects

What do you like best about the product?
We do a lot of things on a monthly, quarterly or project basis and Asana lets us easily create tasks, duplicate them and have them on various repeating schedules. Being able to see everyone on a project and seeing the timeline view is also great. The integration with Slack fixed the problem of me always losing conversations in Slack, now I can quickly add to Asana as a task with a follow up due date.
What do you dislike about the product?
We still tend to over-schedule resources because it doesn't flag us when we've assigned multiple big projects to a persona at the same time and it doesn't adjust deadlines or flag things when dependant tasks don't get completed on time so not sure what the significance of dependancies are. You can set up multiple workspaces, eg I have one for my work and one for my volunteer work but you can't get a combined view of all tasks. I wish there was an integration with Confluence for task syncing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our new client and employee on-boarding tasks plus all recurring monthly marketing tasks and one-off tasks are managed in Asana. I use the integration with Slack to make sure I don't lose conversations I need to follow up on, adding files and integrating with DropBox ensures everything is in one place where we need it when we need it.

Ideal for the distribution of projects and teamwork

What do you like best about the product?
I like that through this program I can work in real time, it allows me to manage all my projects, programs, attach comments to the tasks to be done, and allows me to follow up on what is being done.
What do you dislike about the product?
I would like it to have a desktop version since it only has one mobile application and one web application, and sometimes I have problems with the permissions of who can delete or add tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My team and I have used Asana for about 3 years to track tasks and stay connected to make sure we do not forget any activities or tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is an innovative tool that will allow you to manage your company's projects, keep you informed of your progress at all times.

Versatile project management app

What do you like best about the product?
I like Asana because it is packed with a lot of features. You can create tasks with due dates and assign it to a team member. You can also store files within the task. There is also a comment section where you can tag teammates. I like the followers list because it easily shows you who has access to the information stored within the task. This is useful especially when dealing with confidential information.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is a bit complicated when you get started. It is not very intuitive. At first, I am not sure what to click and how to proceed. Sometimes the inbox also gets flooded when we work with a lot of tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helped me with managing projects with a team.

I organize each and every one of my tasks in one place

What do you like best about the product?
It is a very complete and interactive tool with which I can manage all kinds of tasks and activities, it has a very easy to use interface and in which I can create cards in which I can add items such as reminders, files, list and many other things, also something that I like a lot of Asana is that it has many accessories which I can expand its features.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is a tool a bit expensive since the monthly plans are measured by the number of people that make up the team, although it has a free version that is very limited in terms of features and functions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In my work I use Asana to be able to keep up with my activities, since I can configure my calendar to notify me when something is about to expire, I also use Asana from my cell phone through its application, which helps me a lot to access quickly from anywhere.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you want to have all your work organized and updated Asana is an ideal tool, with it you can get excellent results in the office.

Asana

What do you like best about the product?
I really like that you are able to set due dates and make different categories for your tasks in Asana. It is also helpful to be able to have shared projects with others. This is especially helpful in a billing setting when two of us are handling billing tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that things don't save as drafts because sometimes I'll accidentally lose everything I typed into a task. I also wish you could archive a bit easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As I mentioned before, it makes handling billing tasks easier when there are two of us managing it. We can assign each task so it is clear who is doing what.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great task management system with multiple capabilities. I would strongly consider it in terms for a business management tool. Your entire team can use it.

Great for task management, but not as great for managing large scale projects

  • May 23, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Ease of use, Integrations with 3rd party tools, Customization options
What do you dislike about the product?
Reporting, No gantt charting (unless through 3rd party tools)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of what team members are on and less emails circling around
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use it to stay organized with personal tasks, to manage task distribution in a small team (<10), or to get a good top-level understanding of what other teams are up to.

You will need to create separate Asana projects to track milestones and separate Asana projects where you can be more granular in terms of tasks, their description and possibly subtasks (these projects are where the work will happen). This would all be for the sake of better visibility of the status of cross-departmental projects.

Asana order and solutions

What do you like best about the product?
An essential tool for planning internal tasks within the organization, it is also very convenient when managing multimedia content shared internally. An essential way to handle traffic within the agency.
What do you dislike about the product?
Information can be lost if one does not place tasks on the corresponding side; it can be somewhat overwhelming to see the inbox with so much information.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The internal organization of the agency has improved a lot, and it is also essential when organizing the content.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Excellent task organizer, highly recommended for agencies and companies where there is a flow of tasks.

Project Management Tool - Asana

  • May 21, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like that it is a collaborative tool. Myself and other staff are definitely more efficient in our various projects when we can see how steps are being completed without having to have meetings or emails back and forth.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it was native to Salesforce. Asana can work in SF with a third party app, but it's a headache. I also wish that it had a kanban view like you see in other tools like Taskray.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our main use of Asana has been getting everyone to use an "office standard" project management tool. We're solving a lot of time waste issues. Before we were all using our own preferences for project management, but this tool has really helped bring us together to meet deadlines and collaborate on the spot.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It doesn't feel intuitive at first, but give it a day or two and soon you'll understand the benefits of this tool and why my entire office is using it. It is definitely superior to most project management tools I've used.
