Easy, Fast, Responsive Application that's Easy to Learn/Use
What do you like best about the product?
This is a simple and easy to use application that helps to keep you - and your team - on track/focused/able to meet deadlines. It helps keep you organized and I also like the fact that it integrates seamlessly with Slack.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana can overdue it with the number of emails that it sends. It would be nice to be able to go in and designate either the types of emails or the frequency in which you receive emails.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Most importantly, project management. It has helped to keep me up-to-date/organized, focused on-task, which ends up helping me to meet - if not beat - deadlines.
Great for collaboration and keeping track of projects
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can section out tasks and projects and assign takes to different users. Keeping chats, documents and links all in one place is so great for remote team management.
What do you dislike about the product?
Can be easy to lose information in a long thread and also the tagging of people when writing isn't always automatic (like say, facebook) so if you are not tagged properly in a thread it can be easy to miss messages etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Team collaboration from multiple locations. Complex project management. Increase efficiency and communication.
Great for Keeping a Small Team Organized
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can keep track of your own tasks, while being able to see coworker's tasks at a glance. I also like the ease of being able to go back and look at previously completed tasks, and uploading documents for reference. Overall, Asana integrates well with other products we use (i.e. Harvest, Dropbox, etc.)
What do you dislike about the product?
The biggest issue that I've experienced is having no clear way of seeing full projects. It's a frustration that if one deadline moves, everything else has to be manually moved. The start/end dates also are a bit misleading. If we add start dates, the task doesn't show on the top someone's task list until the end date, which at some points may be too late. Instead, it would be helpful if they showed on the start date and stayed at the top until the end date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Before using Asana, the team was using a Google Doc (back when there was only a handful of employees). Now with 18 employees, it's a far better way to manage projects and deadlines. We can easily see how busy each person is, and when they have capacity to fit additional work in.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great for small companies - but still is lacking in some respects (i.e. start dates/end dates), doing bulk changes, etc.
Project Management For Everyone Else
What do you like best about the product?
The Asana platform eases you into projects and tasks management. With its web based interface and collaborative tools built in, you can get directly involved in using the software without all the traditional Onboarding headaches associated with other project management tools
What do you dislike about the product?
The Asana platform is singularly project /tasked focused. While that is a great feature, some integration with other web services or platforms is suggested. The Asana Platform is also appears alittle sophomoric. Yeah its easy to use, but visual counts as well The UX design could a better.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The chief business problem we are solving is the alignment with all stakeholders. The Asana platform is allowing for a single version of the truth in where are with project/program progress. The chief benefit is accountability
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give the trial a serious go...at the end, you will know without a doubt if this is platform for you.
Great task management with room for improvement
What do you like best about the product?
Asana makes task creation and editing project timelines easy thanks to its very user friendly design. Very few steps are required to get a project set up and everything is very clearly laid out, so there's little excuse for an individual not to know what's happening with a project.
What do you dislike about the product?
Like many PM programs, Asana could use improved reporting and exporting. You can export project data into a google sheet, but it's very raw data that requires organizing in order for it to make sense for supervisors. You can also print the project timeline as a list of tasks and due dates, but it becomes a much different looking task list that is not very clearly organized and hard for others to know what they're looking at. For such a nicely designed site, that user friendliness doesn't translate once you take data out of the site.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are solving issues with accountability for tasks and outcomes. It takes project tracking out of email and puts it in clear terms, as long as you set up the project well.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Be sure the paid version will satisfy your reporting needs before you move everything into this program. There are also a lot of integrations you can use with Asana which is helpful to fill in the gaps. We use the Instagantt integration and it's a nice compliment.
Great Task Software
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can drag and drop in files. Makes it easy. You do not need to go researching opening, etc. You can simply drag and drop right into your task and makes it easy for everyone to find.
What do you dislike about the product?
I hate how you can't mark items urgent or low priority. This would make it easier as projects make come in and they sometimes need to be worked on asap.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
That is it centralized and can be utilized in many different aspects of the business.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it! It is a fun system.
Asana: Perfect for Digital Filing Needs
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is amazing because it can keep all of your digital paperwork in an organized manner per project.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is a strong application that is organized but at times could do better in it's organization of it's calendars and sections within a project
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I know where all the paperwork for every project is and know I can rely on it if I ever need to go back and find anything
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's very good about keeping files organized and searchable. The amount of tabs can get overwhelming if not maintained well
Simple and Flexible
What do you like best about the product?
Asana's shining characteristic is its balance between ease of getting started and your ability to flexibly adopt features as and when you like.
What do you dislike about the product?
The distinction between list projects and board projects feels artificial and unnecessary. It seems like they should be different views of the same data. The distinction makes the workflow slightly janky if you want to move a task between different between projects of different kinds.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task management, project management, team collaboration.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can use Asana as a simple shopping list of tasks, or you can use it as an enterprise-level management tool. This flexibility creates a danger: it is easy for the list of tasks to become a forest of forgotten ideas and dead projects. Go in with a plan.
User Friendly
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to use. Easy to create tasks, and helpful when you have recurring tasks that your need to get done every week. A great way to keep things organized and helps you not forget anything.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not as helpful for tasks that only happen once. It's still ok, but more ideal for recurring tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps managers see what has been completed and helps me keep on tasks.
Easiest, smoothest and one of the most collaborative tools there is..
What do you dislike about the product?
Connecting sub-tasks between different teams, especially different projects is a really convoluted process. You need to move the task up, then drag to main task, then move to a project and then move to another project. That is so many clicks and moves -- just super annoying.
It is easier to re-create the task in another project and close out the earlier one.
Very difficult to connect JIRA tickets with Asana. Wish there were some connecting SSO projects within Asana so instead of copying URLs of JIRA - we could just add it in the right fields. That would have helped a lot with reporting.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Easy to assign tasks to different team members.
Easy to add followers, create sub-tasks as they arise from main tasks.
Provides the bigger picture to the executive leadership.
