Gamechanger
What do you like best about the product?
My entire team now uses Asana several times a day. We have a much better grasp on which tasks are urgent and we collect all information about a task the same place.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you don't have clear conventions, it will easily get confusing. A thorough cleaning of old projects is very important.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Collect information one place

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it, but make clear conventions for usage.
Awesome product for tasks management - Customise it based on your needs
What do you like best about the product?
Lots of things. We do literally everything through Asana, from HR to product design and development.
It's what we use the most, all tools combined.

What do you dislike about the product?
Templates are hard to use properly. They're fine if the templates don't evolve, but not easy to get by when templates are updated and "duplicates" aren't. Could use a way to sync those based on different strategies.
Also, copy/pasting tasks doesn't copy the description or sub tasks, which doesn't help to manually update projects created from templates.
Also, there are really dumb things that Asana is missing out, like allowing Markdown for tasks description or comments. That would be very useful and could also allow us to use Asana as a "rich-text" content platform, where we could write tutorials, guide and such.

We handle our HR integration, product design, product development, marketing, strategy, lots of things really.
We were using Trello before, but Asana is on a complete different level of quality of communication and interactions.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try, one of Asana's best quality is its flexibility: You adapt it to your needs, not the other way around.
Asana Review
What do you like best about the product?
Something that sets apart Asana from the competition is the ability to repeat tasks. In my professional and personal life, the ability to create a task and have it repeat has been a very useful tool. I also like that I can create teams. I am an admin in my work and I can create just an admin team. We have operations, managers, and sales as well. It allows us to create different projects based on what we do in the organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
I want more add-ons. My work goes between Trello and Asana because Trello has a style that fits our needs as a company but Asana is better for tasks and communication. We are working on making the switch but it must meet the needs of everything Trello does, which it does, but I need add-ons.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At my work we track jobs. Delivery scheduled, jobs in progress, called off jobs, and complete jobs. Every department in the company is needed to make a job go throughout its process. Sales are first, then operations, and then admin, and back around. The benefits of Asana is that we can assign tasks to people to make sure the task is getting done.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Watch the training videos. Due to Asana being more advanced than most other applications, Trello included, it can almost be overwhelming and confusing. If you watch the videos it allows you to better understand everything and know what is the right style you need for what you are trying to accomplish.
Asana Raises the Bar for Optimized Workflow
What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful aspects of Asana for me are the user interface (colorful, easy to use, intuitive) and the customer support (very responsive and friendly/willing to help). I also value the community aspect of Asana Together. I like how Asana encourages users to become Ambassadors or Certified Pros, and Asana entrusts them to be creative and lead their own events in their communities/with their teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside of Asana is that I wish there was an Event Planning template on the Basic version of Asana, so I could test it out with my team before deciding to upgrade to Premium (I understand that I can do the 30 day free trial).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
With Asana I am solving the problem of assigned workflows and breaking up tasks between my team and me. I've realized that Asana helps me stay on track. I used to use calendar reminders for all my 'to-do' items, but I've been trying to move all my reminders over to Asana, so everything is in one place and so there is transparency w/ my team, to communicate to them which tasks I'm working on, and the ability of my available bandwidth.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You won't regret trying out the Basic version, and then decide if you'd need Premium/Business/etc. It'll bring insight into ways you can improve your workflow.
Asana streamlines internal communications like no other product.
What do you like best about the product?
My workplace utilizes Asana to minimize the number of communication channels my team utilizes. It has made project management so much easier, too.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside to Asana has been the learning curve associated with adoption. Not every team member is on the same level, regarding product knowledge.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The number of emails and meetings have been reduced drastically since my workplace started using Asana. We are working more efficiently because of this product.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Just give it a try and you'll see how much your organization can benefit from adopting Asana.
The Best Thing
What do you like best about the product?
Having everything in once place. I love that I can now set up projects with dates and use it as a template. We have no-weekly product launches and this was a tremendous help! We also upgraded recently so now we have teams so now everyone only sees the projects they need to see instead of everything.
What do you dislike about the product?
Inability to change from list to board. We use boards for each department and some prefer lists so I have to create multiple projects and multi-home things to be able to see it in both versions and that a huge pain. Being able to switch between list, board and calendar would be a great feature.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My department was in chaos when I started and after researching multiple platforms, Asana was the best one. It has helped us become so much more organized than ever before.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get the premium version and watch the trainings. They are so helpful.
Asana is a true game changer!
What do you like best about the product?
I use Asana for HR Operations activities, the project feature is so easy to manage. Task assignments have been a game changer for our onboarding activities, depending on the new hire's role there could be 12 different departments participating in pre and post onboarding activities. Before Asana onboarding a new hire could take 3 weeks, now it's done within a few business days.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only downside is at this time there isnt an automated date rule in place for projects. We use the CSV import feature as a work around. The project template remains in a Google Shared Drive CSV template, including the date rules for task assignments based on the triggering date (new hire date, leave date, exit date, etc). Only adds a few extra minutes to the entire project management process, so completely worth it!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are using Asana projects for the entire employee lifecycle, as well as for our 1:1's and project management for Quarterly Goals.
Finally, My Team is on the Same Page!
What do you like best about the product?
I can see what my team is working on! We use Asana to collaborate and keep each other in the know about projects and tasks. Now, it's easy to see a summary and then dive deep if needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is no two way Google Calendar integration.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
There's never a question of "what are they working on?" or "Do they have bandwidth to take something else on?" anymore. Asana has helped us make sure all projects are planned and finished in a timely manner.
Getting things done
What do you like best about the product?
Even the free version helped a colleague of mine and me to work across our different disciplines/fields. We were able to coordinate in a way we never could with the tools given at our work. The team I am working in now is rarely at the same place, so we use Asana to coordinate across borders and continents. It is helping us to manage requests, stay on track with our milestones and to never miss a deadline.
What do you dislike about the product?
Some functionalities depend on third parties and are expensive. I would prefer not to have to provide such broad access to my data. My biggest issue with Asana is, that it is tailored too much towards businesses, the academic research sector is almost neglected, which also shows with the roles you can pick in questionnaires or when it asks about the company I am using the software at. I think it is a missed opportunity not to cater more towards that type of user.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our team is rarely in one place at the same time, so it helped us to stay on track with our milestones and getting closer to our goal.
Easy to use tool that makes work efficient
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is extremely user friendly. It's very easy for even a first-time user to understand. I love that it tells me exactly what's due each day, and where things are in the process. The subtasks make it easy to ensure that all parts of a project are completed. The comments also make it easy to communicate with multiple team members working on a project.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the differences between tasks and projects can be confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Using Asana allows things to be done on time. I wish my previous organizations had had a system that shows work and due dates so easily!
