Asana keeps remote teams on-track
What do you like best about the product?
Calendar of tasks with color codes! Ability to create multiple projects and assign tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I can’t think of anything I dislike about the product.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We work with several contractors on the opposite coast, so Asana solves “after hours” communication
Asana is great to keep projects organized, but not that user-friendly in my experience
What do you like best about the product?
I like how you can create tasks and projects for certain teams. This is helpful for us since we can give our Product and Dev team deadlines and prioritize tasks. I am not a current user anymore since I am not the in the team that handles asana anymore, but that is what I really liked about it. It is still very useful for use as we now log tasks for our Product team to get detailed information about our product -- that way we can add it to our wiki.
What do you dislike about the product?
Looks good, but it is still not that user-friendly. Especially on comments. When I first started using it, it was a bit hard to locate where exactly I should place my comment. Another example is that I would get an email saying that a colleague commented on a task, so I logged in and could not easily find it. Like there's no notification whatsoever or easy link access.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keep our Product and Dev team organized with their projects/tasks
Recommendations to others considering the product:
great software, not sure if they have any competitors but I suggest looking to see what other options you have. Or request a trial first to see if it's easy to use for your users.
One of the Best Apps in our Business.
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has overhauled the way our business works. We have complete transparency across our entire team on every single task or project we need to manage. Each Team Member begins their day by opening Asana Whether it be our daily lunch orders or the management of our entire client base and their many jobs, this system is indispensable. Asana has given us the tools to allow a significant reduction in email and provides a complete work history. Every action, comment, mention or file relating to a task or project is documented and accessible via the powerful search feature. Asana makes getting stuff done easier. It has increased our capacity and it has helped our accounting firm become 100% cloud first.
What do you dislike about the product?
We can have many tasks categorized under one , rather than making a new task for every new employee , even when the task is same. I would like to see more pricing options in asana according to team size.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are getting our deadlines meet by Asana and assigning tasks to employees keeping a track of them. We also have prioritised the tasks with it's help to get know what we need first and what can wait. We are achieving a responsible behavior in employees with Asana
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Sometimes the ipad app crashes and has to be restarted. That's the only downfall that I've had using it
Good tool for task management
What do you like best about the product?
Extensive options for creating and managing both personal and team tasks, with a specific chat for each one. Tasks can be created via email and receive notifications through the same medium, if desired, about updates on them. It includes the possibility of incorporating different views of the tasks, such as personal lists, by subtasks, kanban, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be a bit complicated to manage at first, if you have the role to perform those functions.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task schedule management, many of which are shared by several team members. It facilitates maintaining that task list and communication with the rest of the team involved in them.
Asana - Simple yet Robust
What do you like best about the product?
One thing I love about Asana is the ability to create both boards and outline-oriented list views for tasks and projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish Asana had more features for burn-down charts, budgeting, hours-tracking, Gantt views, and reporting. (To be fair, I only use the free version, so I'm not sure what's available in Premium.)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I currently use Asana for my personal to-do lists, though I have also used it with teams. I love having a place to organize all my data visually with deadlines and assignments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Stick with it. Once you get past the initial learning curve, it's an amazing product! Watch tutorials to fully leverage its available features!
what about Asana
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a web application that allows me to communicate directly and quickly with the members of the company and create work teams. The application focuses precisely on improving communication among my colleagues by facilitating the organization and planning of tasks for the progress of the project, developers and our tester team maintain a fluid and constant communication to give priority to errors that we can find in the application
What do you dislike about the product?
I could say that the appearance in general, I would like it to be more friendly and appropriate for my eyes. Something more interactive could be. But despite that, the application has made the work more organized
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes it very easy to coordinate tasks with my teammates, the client can validate the progress of tasks and the project in general and facilitates communication with developers to correct bugs
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Although the application is easy to use, I recommend that you see a tutorial and use the support to be able to use this tool 100%
Great for project management
What do you like best about the product?
One of the best features of Asana is that the free account allows unlimited tasks and projects for up to 15 people. I have the free account and it is perfect to use for tracking my personal professional or home tasks. It's also extremely easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is more task oriented, if you are looking for project oriented such as tracking budgets, issues, etc., this is not the right software to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I love that I am able to create a group and add people to it, this is a great function for simple to-do projects. Both personally and professionally I am able to track my progress (tasks) on what I am working on.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is a great, free product available to anyone. If you are looking for an easy to use task tracking software, this is the way to go. You can integrate other products as well, I use the Chrome extension for Asana and I connected my Google Drive.
Better Than Most
What do you like best about the product?
Overall I like the layout and color scheme. I prefer Asana to some of the other alternatives out there. I recommend starting with the free version it's a great way to get familiar with everything and you may find it suits your needs just fine.
Asana has tons of features and can really help you and your team stay on track. I like the project Timeline feature which creates an excellent view of the tasks and team members working on them. Creating and assigning new tasks is a breeze. You can also very quickly tell which team member is supposed to be doing what. Assigning a due date will also send automatic reminders to the team member involved. There are also many different view modes to fit your company's specific needs.

What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is not as intuitive as some other options. Some team members struggled to navigate their way around the platform. The slack integration doesn't work. It shows all alerts. Wish you could do more complex sorting for projects such as sort by priority and then date. It won't let you do this. The Gantt Chart can be done a little bit better UI wise, it is too big to follow it properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making assign tasks and creating projects easier. The way you can divide the project in tasks and create boards with the tasks make it very easy to visualise the entire project, it really helps to project managers and developers to make the communication easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great, especially for smaller business, I find it a bit annoying to do scrum tho.
Ideal project management for you!!!!
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has great things that make you really love working on it. One of those things is the ease of use. You can add as many tasks as you want, edit them, set the dates, scope, and description of the task, among others. On the other hand, you can not only have them individually but you can add several people to the same project through their emails, and in that way allow establish responsibility for the tasks of the project and send information about the task to those responsible for the tasks, noting how the progress of their work has been.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the things that I do not like is that at the beginning it is not so easy to use. This facility is taken with experience, but once you know how to use it is super easy. Another thing that I do not like is the fact that the email you receive about the progress of the tasks has very little information about the task. I think I should have the name of the project and the dates set for it at least.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
you really learn to be much more organized with your projects, even with personal things that can become much easier if organized by asana
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend it easily. No matter if you are a student or you are the CEO of a company because there you can easily establish a schedule of how things will happen with respect to the project.
Simple but effective adhoc task management, flexible
What do you like best about the product?
When I was first introduced to Kanban a number of years ago, there wasn't any really easy to use software out there that I liked, until I was introduced to Asana. The notifications, project visualizations and overall UI is superb. They also continue to advance the product, some of the newer project management features and the things on the road map are particularly exciting.
What do you dislike about the product?
For non technical people who are used to working in email, it can be a difficult learning curve, but if you stick with it (them), they get the hang as soon as the concept clicks for them. I'd like to see more templates made available for starting projects with boards, there are a few good ones now, but there could be so many more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting work tasks, especially adhoc tasks, out of email and into a trackable system so that everyone on the team knows what is done, what is being worked on and what isn't. It makes the whole team more efficient. It also helps with alignment and communications broadly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are unfamiliar with the concept of boards, I suggest reviewing all the videos they have that explain some of the kanban concepts as well as how different types of people use it. You might also be interested in going to Youtube and searching for how to get the most out of kanban or how to get the most out of Asana. There are a lot of videos and user reviews out there beyond this site and some fantastic guides.
