Best To-Do list App!

  • January 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love how easy it is to create to-do lists and put the tasks into different categories. It is so easy to edit the tasks and move them around.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there were more frequent reminders of the upcoming tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
An easy way to have my to-do lists organized into different categories!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend trying it! If you're used to writing your to-do lists on paper it is a hard switch. But I'm believing that over time I will get used to it and love it more.

Fantastic task & project management tool

  • January 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana makes it super easy to manage tasks and projects. It's extremely easy to create tasks, assign users & due dates, notes, descriptions, attach files, and add subtasks. The conversation threads on each task are particularly helpful, especially since users can simply reply to the email and their response is added to the thread. The integration with Instagantt for timeline/resource/gantt chart planning is great, as well as the integration with Harvest time tracking.
What do you dislike about the product?
The ease of editing has it's setbacks, especially if more than one user are working on a project. It requires a team to agree upon & stick to a process for making changes to task structure/organization, etc.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana for everything, from tracking new business building activities, to tracking sales prospect progress, to project management, meeting agendas, and personal projects. Asana has proven to be especially helpful in managing projects with our clients. We create "teams" and "projects" for each new client, set up the project tasks, then share it with them. It allows our clients to work with us collaboratively on the project and they have full insight into the status at all times. The positive feedback we've received from our clients on this tool has further validated our choice to use it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is great if it's adopted by everyone you need to use it. It's dynamic and flexible, which is great for those with the need for tracking an ever changing set of tasks, but perhaps not the best tool if you have strict processes that people have to follow. There is a free version available up to 20 users, which is a great limit for getting your team started with it and proving the model before deciding if it's something you want to scale for use with the rest of your business.

Best task management software I've tried

  • January 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I started using Asana after reading David Allen's Getting Things Done. I tried a few other task management systems online before settling on Asana, but I think I'll be sticking with it for a long time. One of my favorite things about Asana is I can have a backlog of tasks that need to get done and choose which ones I want to get done today, which are upcoming, and which will be done late. I can put due dates on everything and add tags, priority levels, subtasks, and notes.

I also really like being able to categorize everything on my to do list with project names. It helps keep my professional and private life separate but still organized.

I also love how I can forward an email from my Gmail account to Asana and it will automatically create a task for me. That's the icing on the cake.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana can be difficult to figure out; there's quite a learning curve when you're just starting out, in my opinion. However, they do publish a host of webinars and learning videos to help get you started.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I work in a remote environment and it can be difficult to collaborate with my coworkers and have solid ownership of projects and tasks within those. Asana makes it so easy because all you have to do is tag a person on an assignment (or part of it) and it shows up in their Inbox and on their Tasks list. I love that.

Best Way To Keep Track of Your Tasks

  • January 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Having all of your projects and tasks in one place is convenient. Being able to effectively work with your team and see what tasks they have for the day is useful as well. I also love the easter eggs hidden in the program that keeps your task completion entertaining. Integration with Harvest is also great.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really wish there was a way to assign multiple team mates to a single task, instead of just followers. If there is a way, it's not very intuitive and I haven't figured it out yet!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing a large amount of tasks with a large team, organization, time tracking, time management
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure your time tracking software is compatible with Asana!

Asana keeps us on target!

  • January 31, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the way you can choose a range for the due date, versus a hard due date. This allows us to see the task and actively have our brains working on it, with a goal date in mind.
What do you dislike about the product?
I do not like the adding of a link. I wish you could add a clean link, such as you can on gmail or word doc with a clickable word, or phrase.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping organized and able to keep ourselves busy after "that days" tasks are complete, but working on tasks that are in the range, and due down the road, but open to you working on it now.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is a great product. Easy to manage, you can literally glance at at people or projects and see where you are with everything. Easy to assign new tasks and keep everyone on target with ranged due dates.

Just Amazing! Much more than just a task and project manager

  • January 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the way you can create tasks and projects, assign them to users, define due dates, etc. The best thing has to be the way you can link tasks from one project to an other, and the compatibility with other apps!
What do you dislike about the product?
When you are new to it, it can be overwhelming... but you will get the hang of it soon
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Now we can keep track of every project, know exactly on what stage they are, how much time will it need to get done, even when each task its assigned to a different person
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get It!! Ask for tutorials and support if needed.

Keeps you and your team on track

  • January 30, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
With Asana, there are so many ways to improve the efficiency of short term and long term tasks. First, the design of the interface is very nice and intuitive. Asana's foundational features are ones that make an organized person happy: ability to check of tasks, set sure dates and times, organize tasks into projects, and add subtasks to tasks. Asana also offers you varying levels of privacy for everything you enter. You can control who sees and had access to what, and you can also search for a team member's tasks to help keep them in track.
What do you dislike about the product?
Most of the things that I disliked when I first started using Asana have been updated now. The only thing left on my wish list is to be able to assign tasks to multiple people.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm improving work flow, keeping team members accountable, and allowing all stakeholders to have status updates available to them without having to ask for it.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
In order for Asana to work for you, your whole team had to be on board. It will not work if only a portion of your team uses it.

This tool is a Godsend

  • January 27, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's handy, it's helpful and my team and I can stay connected, stay on task and stay focused. It keeps all project management in one place.
What do you dislike about the product?
I tried to get some phone support and was told there is none. That needs to be fixed. Otherwise, I find no fault with Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We no longer have multiple list but 1 place for all of our project management. It's amazing!
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend Asana. Once I figured out the layout of the app, it was very easy to use, easy to add team members and great to keep everyone on the same page with the same tasks. No more email trails about what we are working on. It's all in one place.

A real productivity app. Something we all need.

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Features.
Asana supports many meaningful features that we all need. Sometimes I find myself learning something new from Asana that I never did before and it helps me manage my projects easier. For instance, for project dashboard, I learned there is a way to export the reported projects into Google Spreadsheet with charts. It took me 5 seconds to generate a useful report.
And I bet it's only getting better and better.
What do you dislike about the product?
Team Conversations should include some features to be able to add or tag projects and tasks in it. We currently use the name of the project with "" to make sure we understand each other but I've used Jira or some other task and project management tools that these features have been used for a long time.
Team Conversations feature should be good enough to avoid teams from using Asana.
Or have a smooth integration with Slack and stop developing the Team Conversation in Asana. (I'm aware of the current integration between Asana and Slack. But I don't find it that useful)
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task management among matrix-organized teams.
I've used, Jira, RedBooth (even before the new name changed to RedBooth), Bootcamp, etc. Each one has its own interesting features. But for visualizing and managing TEAMWORK, I have found Asana to be more helpful for Marketing teams than any other platform. I know web developers and engineers tend to like Jira more, but for marketers, Jira is not as useful as Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Start using Asana's free version to see how easy it is to use. You can have a good grasp of the main things they offer. It's very convenient but I recommend you to give it a try. If you have a Gmail account you can easily start the free account (it's not even a trial, so you can have the free version forever).

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Great for task management!

  • January 26, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that tasks can have followers, you can assign only one person per task so they are held accountable, and the overall organization of the system, including teams, projects, tasks, subtasks, calendars, etc.

I also LOVE that you can import tasks via CSV. For those starting with Asana, check out this feature ASAP!
What do you dislike about the product?
I am very pleased with this product. I have seen that they are working on integrations with other apps, like Slack and Google Drive, which will just enhance the experience even more. I honestly don't have any complaints.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task coordination for remote teams to ensure timely project completion.

People are looped in on projects so people can clearly understand their roles and hold each other accountable for project success.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Check out the features for CSV import.

Check out the features and turn on the features for the keyboard shortcut Tab + b
