    Consulting

Lots of great features, and also lots of frustrations

What do you like best about the product?
I really appreciate the fact that I am basically building my templates from the ground up. The best thing for my team is the various ways that someone can sort or view their assignments, since everyone wants to see their to-dos in a different way
What do you dislike about the product?
There are several features that seem like no-brainers, yet they are not included. I have even looked up most, if not all, of these features and found online forums dating multiple years back asking for these features, and absolutely no response:

1. cannot duplicate templates
2. Cannot change due date or assignees after you create the original project
3. It would be great to be able to create a "customized" home page for my entire team. ie, just a place where I can put my "asana how-tos" for them to easily find.
4. cannot add a "notes" document to a template
5. to-dos still showing up for people even if we archive a project
6. sub-tasks are INCREDIBLY CLUNKY to add to a template
7. Why can't portfolios be part of projects? This is a major one for our team.
8. "Notes" documents have very few formatting options (different colors, highlights), making it hard to identify important information beyond just bolding it
9. I'm confused as to how I can get help if I can't figure out how to implement something. Do I write my sales rep? once they pointed me to external asana consultants that I would have to pay extra????
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
organized to-do lists that can live as "sources of truth." ability to sort, filter, and view to-dos in a variety of ways to meet a variety of preferences

    Manufacturing

User friendly

What do you like best about the product?
It's user friendly and Doesn't need any training.
What do you dislike about the product?
Still needs some progress. on the left side where we see all the projects and portfolio names, it's better to be able to see them separately. Now all of them are mixed.
Also a project will have some milestones that I want to see them in the timeline which now is not possible in Asana unless I name the milestones as a seperate project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's easy to use

Complex Yet Comprehensive for Growing Teams

  • September 01, 2025

What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate that Asana consolidates all my processes into one system, which helps me organize everything efficiently. I also find the project boards, templates, and AI rules incredibly helpful for managing tasks. The ability to track workload and team capacity is particularly beneficial for our growing creative studio.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana feels unnecessarily complex for a small business like mine. I had to hire a project manager just to get it set up, and even then, it felt like dealing with complicated Excel formulas. I manage operations and finance solo, so I need tools that are efficient and intuitive.

It sits awkwardly between something too simple like Trello and something overly complex for our needs. The $3,000 annual price tag is hard to justify — I wish there were a more affordable plan for startups or smaller teams.

Contractor access is also limited — they should be able to input and track hours, not just view tasks. I spent time setting up workload and portfolio features, but they didn’t work as expected and felt overly complicated.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana consolidates our processes, moving everything from disparate systems into one, which is helpful for managing tasks and team capacity.

A Gamechanger for Multitaskers

  • August 27, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the organization of tasks, and having the ability to make rules creates an opportunity to really automate a lot of reminder tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
With so many options, it can get confusing to understand the best way to use the system. I would also recommend being able to sort sections by alphabetical order to help us further organize our projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of little to-dos around a certain project and assigning them to team members (in a nonagressive way) is so helpful!

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is reasonably easy to use. The organizational structure is good.
What do you dislike about the product?
the side bar gets incredibly cluttered, and it is not easy to implement as it requires a good deal of training to use effectively. the video tutorials are ok, but not effective for different learning styles.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It has allowed me to support stakeholders in strategic goals across the organization

What do you like best about the product?
Great for organizing daily, monthly, or yearly task for finance and accounting teams.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that i can tie products into it. For example, after a task is complete I would like Asana to generate an excel sheet tied to that task
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Month-End Reporting
