What do you like best about the product?
It is a very handy application to track and manage your projects. Work can be divided and deadlines can be set.
What do you dislike about the product?
It took time to get used to. The interface though good wasn't beginner friendly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working for a startup it is easy to slack off. We needed a reminder to get things done at the given deadline. As the work was divided in modules, it helped us track which module is being done by which person.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is a very powerful tool but takes a bit of time to get used to.

Asana excellent tool for your company

What do you like best about the product?
I like Asana because it makes it easy for me to organize my projects and divide them into subtasks. It also has a simple and remote access, since its application version is available. On the other hand, it's great that I can easily communicate with several people in a project and I can avoid email chains. In addition, you can simply create a dashboard that is visual in nature and can help the user see where a request is in the process.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be perfect for Asana to be more easily implemented with Outlook or Gmail. In addition, it was very useful that there was a great facility to send tasks by email to the application, and that more aspects of the interface be customizable. On the other hand, I think there is room for improvement in terms of how simple it is to create new section headings for tasks and lists.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana for our personal to-do list. It allows us to reduce the exchange of spreadsheets for updated manternos. Also, if I want to know where a team player is from a project, I check the Asana panel and we can get a quick update without having to write another email. On the other hand, it is one of the best tools to manage and collaborate on project tasks in parallel with any other project management tool such as Primavera, SAP-Projects, Systems or Microsoft Project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is especially suitable for replacing your daily notebook or post-it stack. The excellent ease of use and access means that it will always be there for us and will not delay us. Meeting agendas and shared notes have definitely improved in our office. The only areas in which it falls a little short are in the administration of the calendar and communication.

Project Management for Type As

  • November 21, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
List and board views for Asana are both a great way of viewing everything in one place. I like the emailed reminders of deadlines and project status. I like the ability to tag others, comment an update and assign sub tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
The dependencies and calendar view is not overly useful unless everything is listed at a high level instead of sub task level.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Accountability of all employees, scheduling, priority assessments, project management, reporting to upper management.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do you need to view projects based on calendar scheduling and timelines, do you need to assign multiple people one task (this is not possible from what I have found), do you need all projects listed and assigned in one place.

Asana is great for simple projects.

  • November 20, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is helpful for simple projects. The creation of tasks and sub-tasks helps to assign accountability to various staff members and stay clear on expected deadlines. The calendar view is also incredibly helpful in getting an overall view of progress and how the work will be spread over time. Finally, uploading files to Asana helps with visibility of the work.
What do you dislike about the product?
Because of the way the tasks-subtasks are assigned, you have to dig through the tasks to find important information. The information does not layer in a way that allows the main project manager to get a holistic view of the work being done. Editing files and re-uploading them can be time consuming and creates versioning issues. Asana also does not assist with financial information, resourcing, or dependencies for work, which are essential to successful project management. Finally, lack of variation in filters for the calendar views reduces its effectiveness. Overall, the tool is helpful for simple projects, but does not meet the needs for large more complex initiatives.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana has helped us to organize a standard process for simple projects. Because of the ability to assign dates and owners, it has helped us generate more accountability in the department. However, it has not proven useful in managing more complex work.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would try and rate the complexity of the work you plan to put into Asana. For simple projects, this may be the tool you need to manage the work. However, for more complex items, it will be more difficult to manage financials, resources, and dependencies, as those will have to live outside Asana.

Used Asana daily for years

What do you like best about the product?
Clean interface and integrates with my other apps
What do you dislike about the product?
The most recent update is not my favorite. I think it takes away from the clean look of the old platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Used it for personal and team task management, project management associated with software and services implementation, tracking system for customers and employees
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If needed, Asana can be used for way more than project management. Have used Asana as a workaround CRM for years as a low cost option.

Great task-based assignments tracker

  • November 20, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I do like the ease of use. Makes it very simple for a team to pick up and implement.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not really any downsides, but the UI is a little clunky. Sometimes projects have abandoned Asana in favor of more direct methods (meetings, 1-1s, etc.).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I do like tracking my progress and delegating through the software.

Asana is great!

  • November 20, 2019
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is really great to keep tasks in order and to maintain deadlines. It lets you attach google files automatically which can be of any size, which is really useful. It also automatically connects your google account so the calendar syncs up with your tasks. It also lets you organize teams in your company, and within those teams each person has ranks so you know who to report to. There’s also a fun sticker that pops up when you finish a task. It’s really useful, especially for those juggling multiple files and working on 10-20 tasks a day.
What do you dislike about the product?
I liked Asana a lot, but one thing I didn’t like was the inability to keep stickers on your profile because I thought they were really fun.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is great for keeping your schedule organized without even having to sort out your tasks. Everything gets done automatically by who assigns tasks to you. You can see every team’s projects so you can offer to help on a project and make it collaborative.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It’s great and super user friendly. However, I only have seen it from a non-administrative perspective.

Asana review

What do you like best about the product?
I recommend this software as it was a great tool and solution for collaborating work teams to manage tasks and work projects. With Asana you will be able to develop different types of collaborative tasks efficiently, very time effective, improving the product and adding to your work dynamics a lot of productivity.
What do you dislike about the product?
mid-level pricing tier for non profits to take advantage of some of the pro-level features, but not have to commit to the fairly pricy upgrade.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the beginning keeping accountability and on task was difficult without sending numerous emails and micromanaging. There has been a large improvement being able to work, post and develop all in one place see progress, check-in and further support
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I highly recommend Asana, to improve your work team productivity.
