Balanced but isn't intuitive

  • May 02, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana provides all the necessary features for project management. Time tracking, task relation and file handling.
What do you dislike about the product?
The notification setting will need some work. For example, when I received 2 comments from the same task, the most recent comment will overlap the previous one leading to missed communication and deadline. Moreover, even updates such as status changed will also overlap comment notification which is really misleading.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management and task distribution.

Easy and Useful

What do you like best about the product?
Asana has been an incredibly user-friendly and efficient tool that has truly streamlined my workflow. From the moment we started using it, implementation was a breeze. There was no complicated setup or steep learning curve—just a simple, intuitive platform that made sense right away. It didn’t take long for me or my team to get comfortable navigating it, which made the transition into daily use smooth and stress-free.

I now use Asana every single day. It’s become an essential part of how I stay organized, prioritize my responsibilities, and keep track of both individual and team tasks. The interface is clean and easy to navigate, and I love how all my tasks are clearly laid out. It’s incredibly easy to find what I need and update progress in real time.

One of the biggest benefits has been the way Asana supports team communication and accountability. If I complete a task, I can mark it as done and leave a note for my team. If I’m not able to finish something, someone else can quickly take over without anything falling through the cracks. This flexibility has improved our collaboration and allowed us to move forward with confidence and clarity.

While I haven’t had to reach out to customer support yet—which says a lot about how smoothly Asana runs—it’s reassuring to know that support is available if I ever need it.

As for integration, Asana works well with the other tools we use, which has made it even more valuable. It blends into our workflow instead of interrupting it. Whether I’m syncing with calendars or connecting with communication platforms, everything feels cohesive.

Overall, Asana has made my job easier, more organized, and more efficient. It’s one of those tools I didn’t know I needed until I had it—and now I can’t imagine working without it.
What do you dislike about the product?
There has not been anything that I dislike, yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps solve several key business problems related to organization, accountability, and communication. Before using it, tasks would often get lost in emails, texts, or casual conversations. Asana centralizes everything in one place, so nothing slips through the cracks. It gives us visibility into who’s doing what and when, which helps eliminate confusion and reduces duplication of efforts. It also keeps everyone aligned on deadlines and priorities, which has improved productivity and cut down on missed deliverables. The ability to assign, track, and update tasks in real-time has enhanced our team's efficiency and overall performance. In short, Asana keeps us on track, on time, and in sync.

Efficiency has increased dramatically

What do you like best about the product?
Asana has made tracking multiple projects across our publishing platforms much easier. Having multiple clients and publications is a lot easier to juggle with Asana's tracking.
What do you dislike about the product?
Getting projects up and running can sometimes be a headache. I would suggest making sub tasks easier to track and manage. It works, it can just sometimes be a bear to work through.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes tracking projects from start to finish easier, and gives me a great overview of where we are across our many publishing channels.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Straightforward project management

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is simple enough that you can use it for small teams or straightforward proejcts, but has all the bells and whistles available to you if you want them in order to scale up with a larger organization or more complex teams and projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is not unique to Asana and is an issue that, as a project manager, I've encountered in EVERY project management software...but you have to be thoughtful about setting organization-wide "conventions" about how you are going to use Asana and how you are going to organize the workspace, or else the whole thing becomes an unmanageable nightmare. You need to train your team on how to use it so that you don't have a bunch of random Projects and Teams proliferating all over the place. In Asana, one thing I'd change is that it lets you create multiple Teams with the same name, meaning that I have staff members that have created Teams that actually already existed elsewhere. Likewise, it's not simple to just move a Project from one Team to another (though it is possible). Overall, the "housekeeping" of Asana, ESPECIALLY as our team grows rapidly and not everyone is familiar with project management software, is the hardest part.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing our tasks and goals, meeting agendas

simple and effective

What do you like best about the product?
The UI, structure, and integrations are intuitive and clean
What do you dislike about the product?
The conversion from tasks to subtasks and visa versa is not as simple as it should be. Scheduled and recurring subtasks replicate inside of the primary task and create confusion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For me, Asana acts as the ultimate to-do list. Organizing tasks into a flow of dependencies, including collaborators, and connecting to calendar entries and documents has helped me keep track of deadlines and stay on top of my obligations.

Asana drives efficiency

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful part of asana is that tasks do not get swept under the rug during a meeting. Things get done! It is also helpful that you receive an email when someone comments on a task you are on.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish when I completed a recurring task it would go back to the section that I had it in before.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It makes sure everyone is in the loop and that tasks that are further down the road do not get missed

I have enjoyed Asana. I like how many options for viewing there are for both managers and others.

What do you like best about the product?
The most helpful things in asana are the subtasks and the division of work. Being able to connect with the whole team is important to me and I like the opportunity to work collaboratively with all of the information in one place. I find the checklist easy to use and have not tried the customer support.I feel that the ease of use and notifications are very helpful as I use it everyday.
What do you dislike about the product?
I find Asana to be harder to manage tasks without some more in-depth training or time on the job. I realize that it is a platform with lots of options that allow companies of multiple types to function in the same platform, but I wish that there was a universal setup that was recommended and could be modified from a starting point. If that makes sense? I feel that the ease of use and notifications are very helpful as I use it everyday. I would say that implementation could be simpler and more training tools could exist for the platform. We don't specifically integrate with anything, so I cannot speak to this.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management is the most significant area that Asana benefits me.

Asana - Easy and Intuitive

  • May 01, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
It's so simple to pick up and begin using, but there's so much hidden complexity that allows you to go far beyond just scheduling tasks and writing comments. It's easy to add (and remove!) collaborators, and there's so many different ways to tag and visualize your tasks. You also get notifications instantly instead of on a delay, which is super helpful when you have teams in different timezones and need quick responses.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think sometimes it's a little too easy to get added to tasks. It does take some outside of Asana communication to make sure you're not getting too many notifications and pushes. Sometimes people might use comment threads to go back and forth in quick success, and the instant notifications means you get bombarded. If there was a comment thread option that might help.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Personally I have a lot of business related tasks and it helps keep me organized. I can easily bin tasks into different priority levels, and at a glance understand what I need to make on the fly priority shifts.

It's also helpful when working with others, especially in different timezones. It's very good at helping manage tasks and workflows with multiple simultaneous moving parts.
