It's a great project manager!

What do you like best about the product?
I've been using Asana daily for project management, and it's been a game-changer for organizing my workflow. The platform is intuitive and highly customizable—I really appreciate the ability to tailor dashboards and views based on my personal preferences and project needs. Whether it's tracking deadlines, assigning tasks, or collaborating with teammates, everything feels streamlined and efficient.
What do you dislike about the product?
That said, there is a slight learning curve in the beginning. It took me about a month to get fully comfortable navigating all the features, but once I got the hang of it, everything clicked. One area I feel could use improvement is the search functionality—it works, but it’s not as fast or as precise as I’d like, especially when working with multiple projects or archived tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps my team collaborate effectively on various projects by providing a centralized space to assign tasks, set deadlines, and track progress in real time. It keeps everyone aligned and accountable, which has significantly reduced miscommunication and improved overall productivity. Having a clear view of priorities and timelines makes it easier to stay organized and meet our goals efficiently.

Back on Asana

What do you like best about the product?
Not going to lie - Asana was CRITICAL in our organization for YEARS -- then we cut it to save costs, thinking we could manage everything we needed with docs and sheets. WE WERE WRONG - Everything became chaos, nothing was connected, and everything was duplicated, leaving us all scattered and misaligned on projects, clients, and goals. We quickly realized how important Asana was in keeping our teams and projects running smoothly.

We will never cut Asana again!
What do you dislike about the product?
The copying of timelines is super annoying. Would be awesome when you copy a project you could fill in a new “start date” and the timeline would auto update. 👍🏼👍🏼 Also - were do I submit my pup for more Tab+V options 😆
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organization and staff accountability. No one is stuck asking or answering the “What do I do next?” Questions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Best work flow management platform — HANDS DOWN.

Flexible to almost any use case

What do you like best about the product?
Asana can help cut down on the duplicated work, and all the issues that come along with duplicate work. We've removed a lot of potential copy and paste issues by migrating more of our work and documentation into Asana. This increase of accountability has helped us work as a tighter and more strategic team.

The education sets you up for success when planning how your system will work, function and integrate. There are a bunch of classes but the intro classes are the most important for your system admins (and users) to take so they really understand the value of the system.

I'm hoping they will launch a way to integrate AI notetakers from Zoom meetings into the notes on projects. This will exponentially streamline work. Right now, we're just copy and pasting from our AI notetakers. I'm sure they will get to that soon though.
What do you dislike about the product?
Two biggest complaints - plan break down and customer support.

How much you can utilize a single feature stretches across multiple membership plans. You're teased in at a lower plan, but cannot use all of it. To fully utilize some of the features, you have the most expensive plan. They teach the courses like this as well - you will go to learn how to do something that you know starts in your plan, but they show you features across the most expensive plan - which is not helpful at all if you don't have it.

Unfortunately, you have to be self taught and very independent to use this software. Their customer support is embarrassingly bad - they will send you links to 50 second videos that do nothing to answer your question and their support documentation is equally as useless. The best answers come from youtube accounts of Asana consultants. But then you will need to pay ample extra funds to get their support in solving the issue. I've given up on getting answers from the support team before I end up getting the answers I need - and that is NOT a good situation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to manage our projects and people in one platform, allowing us to tie their performance to their actual work.

Using Asana for Years + Love It

  • April 21, 2025
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that it's worked well for us when we first started using the free plan and over the last several years as our team grew, we added users and incorporated the additional functionality from Asana. It's been flexible as staff, client mix and projects change.

It's easy to use, as we onboard new employees, they catch on to it quickly.
And, we use it every day. Asana is one of the core tools our team has in our tech stack
What do you dislike about the product?
Time tracking in any package seems to be a challenge. We had the much higher package with portfolios and workload, but time tracking and reporting - mostly reporting - did not for us to bill clients accurately or have a clear vision of capacity.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping all clients and their projects on track.
Understanding what our individual tasks are, how we communicate with each other.

Asana Review for GiveMN

What do you like best about the product?
Clear Task Ownership & Deadlines: Asana makes it easy to assign tasks, set due dates, and create subtasks, which keeps everyone accountable and ensures we’re moving forward on time-sensitive work.

Customizable Project Views: Whether we’re planning a comms calendar or managing a major fundraising initiative, we can switch between Kanban boards, calendars, and lists based on what works best for our team.

Collaboration & Transparency: Conversations stay connected to the work. Having comments, attachments, and updates all in one place helps reduce email clutter and keeps the team on the same page.

Templates: We’ve created reusable templates for campaigns and reporting cycles, which save time and help standardize workflows across the organization.
What do you dislike about the product?
Notification Overload: It’s easy to get buried in Asana notifications, especially when working across multiple projects. This can be overwhelming and lead to missed priorities unless team members are proactive about customizing their settings.

Overcomplexity for Small Teams: Sometimes, Asana can feel like using a sledgehammer to push in a thumbtack, especially for smaller or one-off projects. It can take more time to set up a workflow than to just complete the task.

Limited Reporting Without Paid Tier: While the basic version is robust, the more advanced reporting dashboards and features we’d love to use for strategic insights are behind a paywall. That’s a consideration for nonprofits trying to stay lean.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We aren't in the same place so being able to manage products from various spaces and places is so important.
