Works well for large teams
What do you like best about the product?
I liked how I was able to manage a team with multiple projects. The team could check off tasks that were completed and the whole team could see what still needed to be done.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only issue I saw was that people would not go in and update their tasks. Maybe it would be good to set notification reminders.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
When having multiple people on one project, it was nice to keep track of the progress without having to ask each individual person.
Asana Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
I love the simple, logical interface of Asana.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike that Asana makes me feel like a machine at the end of a long work week...
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps with communication and oversight between minor steps in projects that otherwise might become a source of tension.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a simple project management software that focuses on transparency of workflow, look no further.
Worthwhile Tool, but a Little too Complex & Time Consuming
What do you like best about the product?
There's no doubt that most companies will need some variation of a tool like this, whether it's Asana, Monday.com, Zoho, or any other well known project management software. It's easy to breakout different sections/teams within your business- teams like Marketing, Sales, Engineering, Customer Support and so on. Also, for smaller companies it's simple to create and break out areas of responsibility for individuals, which lets others know who handles what and where you can go to find help on certain topics.
What do you dislike about the product?
The problem with a lot of project management tools is that they often require a lot of time and effort to enter individual projects, the details of those projects, tag key followers, and then to make sure the task is organized correctly. Asana has this same problem. It takes too long to navigate the tool- it's difficult to navigate, especially when a company has a dozen or more teams and then 10-20+ channels under those teams (for example a team might be "marketing" and some channels would be "Digital acquisition", "Digital retention", "TV acquisition", "brand digital", "brand offline", and so on..).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows everyone to stay connected and up to date on what everyone is working on, however it's only as good as the people who are using the tool. It takes a lot of time and effort to keep it updated and organized, as well as to manage the users who are utilizing the tool.
Productive if you have a smaller team
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can have different boards, either for projects or individuals, to keep track of project stages. It makes it really easy to see where individuals are at any given stage of a project, which makes it easier to locate where problems are within a project.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's REALLY hard to keep track of things if you have a lot of projects or if you have a larger team to keep track of. Things can get confusing pretty quickly if you're not actively managing projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's easy to set dates and deadlines in Asana, which makes it easier to stick to a timeline. It also makes it easier to identify who might need help, or what parts of projects are really starting to fall behind.
Project Management
What do you like best about the product?
Visibility of projects for management and ease of data entry
What do you dislike about the product?
When integrating email or creating tasks from an email the attached documents do not get attached to the project
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management, scheduling, and communication around projects
Asana almost has it but just misses the mark
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has a pretty streamlined dashboard. It's not difficult to use because there are no hidden features that you have to follow breadcrumbs to get to. What you see is what you get. I also like the attachment feature. It's good for trafficking deliverables through the system.
What do you dislike about the product?
My least favorite thing about Asana is not being able to assign multiple people to one task. Duplicating the task for each person is time-consuming and clutters up your project. I also don't like the search function. I wish there were a way to search for old projects by, for example in my company, client name, so the first portion of the project title.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Problems that are solved with Asana are mainly communication-based. You are able to collaborate on projects without the need to be in the same room or even building. It has made the traffic process easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Good for project management, but it depends a lot on the way you use it if it will be effective.
With Asana I can do ask group tasks very easily and achieve great goals.
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is the easiest way for teams to track their work and achieve results. From tasks and projects to discussions and notifications, with Asana teams can advance their work from start to finish. It's easy to get started, but Asana is also powerful enough to manage your entire business. Asana can be used free of charge.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only thing I didn't liked in Asana was it's Ads, there is too many ads that make tasks get more times, by the way it's sometimes impossible to open links from slack.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana offers a variety of team productivity, collaboration, and organizational tools available online, including via a mobile application (collectively, the “Service”), and websites and Asana is also powerful enough to manage your entire business. Asana can be used free of charge.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The users would always be happy with more new features and not too much ads.
If everyone's on board, a great tool.
What do you like best about the product?
Compatible with phones, tablets and PC. Easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
integration with google calendar.
The price is somewhat prohibitive.
The price is somewhat prohibitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For people who use it, it's really helped. It is a little tough getting everyone on board.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
EVERYONE'S involvment is critical. If one applicable person isn't active with this application it's almost useless
Easy to learn and navigate
What do you like best about the product?
I love that it was easy to learn the interface and when you complete tasks, the unicorn shows up!
What do you dislike about the product?
The daily emails reminding me I’m not done
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Helps me remember what to do and what’s important
