Every org I work in, I convince them to use Asana

  • January 09, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most about Asana is its impressive balance between power and simplicity. The platform is robust enough to handle complex, cross-functional projects, yet the user experience remains light, modern, and even enjoyable—something that's uncommon in work software.

Several aspects really stand out to me. First, the ease of use: the interface is intuitive and visually clean, allowing new users to become productive quickly. Customization is another highlight; you can adapt workflows, projects, fields, views, automations, and templates to your needs without requiring an admin or outside consultant to set things up.

Asana also offers a deep set of features—tasks, rules, portfolios, forms, goals, dependencies, reporting, and more—without ever feeling overwhelming or bloated. Integrations are straightforward to set up and work reliably, which is especially valuable for coordinating across teams.

One of the strongest points is how the tool encourages daily use by consistently delivering value. It becomes a habit because it helps keep work organized and manageable. The fun, human touches in the UI, like celebrations and a modern design, make the experience more engaging and enjoyable, which in turn boosts consistency and adoption.

Overall, Asana is one of the rare tools that supports serious project execution while remaining approachable and pleasant to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana offers a remarkable level of flexibility, though this same flexibility can introduce a learning curve for teams unfamiliar with structured work management tools. Without setting clear conventions—such as consistent naming standards, project templates, and defined intake workflows—work can easily become somewhat inconsistent between teams.

I do find myself wishing that the reporting and dashboard features were more robust by default, especially when it comes to handling complex, organization-wide metrics. While it is possible to create the necessary reports, it sometimes requires additional configuration or access to higher-tier features.

Nevertheless, the user interface and overall user experience are streamlined enough that the platform rarely feels overwhelming. Additionally, the support resources provided help make the implementation process smoother compared to many other tools in this space.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana solves the biggest challenge in cross-functional work: alignment without chaos. It creates a single system for planning, tracking, and executing work across teams—without turning into a rigid or overly complex project management platform.

I like how it helps with:
Clear ownership and accountability: tasks, deadlines, and responsibilities are obvious, which reduces follow-up and “who’s doing what?” confusion.
Faster execution and fewer meetings: status updates happen inside the work itself, so we spend less time syncing and more time delivering.
Smooth implementation + scalable usage: onboarding teams is fast because the interface is intuitive and the structure is flexible. Once teams start using it, it becomes part of daily workflow quickly.
AI + smart automation: Asana’s AI and automation features help with niche challenges like summarizing updates, creating tasks from context, and reducing administrative overhead—something other platforms feel weaker at.
Integrations reduce tool-switching: Asana integrates easily with tools like Slack, Google Workspace, Teams, Jira, and more, which keeps workflows connected without friction.

Intuitive Project Management That Boosts Team Productivity

  • January 08, 2026
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I appreciate most about Asana is its intuitive interface for managing tasks and planning projects. It simplifies the process of organizing work, assigning responsibilities, and monitoring progress across different teams. The various visual views—such as list, board, and timeline—make it easier to see priorities and deadlines at a glance. Additionally, the automations and integrations help minimize manual effort and ensure everything stays in sync. Overall, Asana enhances collaboration and transparency, allowing teams to remain aligned and productive.
What do you dislike about the product?
One downside of Asana is that its wide range of features and configuration options can be overwhelming for newcomers. Many advanced tools, like timelines, goals, and reporting, are only available in more expensive plans, which may lead to higher costs as your team grows. Furthermore, if projects and rules are not managed thoughtfully, it is easy to experience notification overload.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana addresses the issue of fragmented work and limited visibility among teams by bringing tasks, projects, and timelines together in a single platform. It streamlines coordination, clarifies who is responsible for what, and allows us to monitor progress in real time. As a result, our collaboration improves, deadlines are less likely to be missed, accountability is strengthened, and everyone remains focused on shared priorities. Ultimately, this leads to more efficient execution and better outcomes for our projects.
