Great app to use
What do you like best about the product?
Very simple and intuitive interface makes it a great app
What do you dislike about the product?
There’s no ability to add semi-steps for big tasks
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
One of the simplest way to manage tasks and teams and keep everything organized
Pretty good.
What do you like best about the product?
Adding tasks and then bullets under tasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile app. The interface is tricky.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of deadlines
Easy to use, no training needed
What do you like best about the product?
It was super easy to just create an account and start using it. My work uses another project management tool that has more features than the free version of Asana, but I don't need the bells and whistles.
What do you dislike about the product?
A lot of the cooler features are only available as a Premium member, which I guess is understandable. So the free version really is no frills. I also wish that when I pick a view (List vs Timeline vs Calendar), that it would save that view so I wouldn't have to always switch to that. Minor issue though.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I have a lot of little tasks related to an ongoing project, so Asana is really helpful for keeping track of all of those smaller deadlines. I also use it to communicate with my organization's web developer. It keeps us both accountable so things don't get lost in email.
Good to ensure nothing falls through the cracks
What do you like best about the product?
The ability of Asana to easily schedule and collaborate on tasks within a team or department.
What do you dislike about the product?
That it can get quite noisy if you are following many projects, then it takes lots of time to wade through where you are added and to adjust notification settings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To ensure that in meetings tasks are followed and communication on the progress of a project is instantaneous and moving.
I’ve only had positive experiences working with Asana.
What do you like best about the product?
I appreciate how organized you can be, primarily while being on a team/group to assign tasks and see what has gotten done, what needs to get done etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don’t love how the app version is missing a lot of features you get on the desktop version.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Working in a research lab, it is often difficult to keep track of who is doing what on a project. This is such a great way to stay organized. I also use it for individual purposes to make lists of everything I need to do and for when, so it makes me more efficient at work
Uncluttered and intuitive
What do you like best about the product?
Easy to organize the way I want it, especially by project or category. Simple dashboard allows me to find things quickly, change settings, etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
Despite being an application with a ton of integrations to other apps, Asana does not yet have an integration for either of my accounting or time tracking apps.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Running my own company, I have a high volume of tasks that I need to track and they are spread across multiple projects and administrative categories. Asana helps me to organize them in a way that is easy to use, without bogging down another app (like email). This type of system allows me to track both long and short range tasks without getting cluttered.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Research Asana's integrations with other software - it has plenty. Asana is good by itself but would be great if your other app's can integrate with it.
Overall a really good tool
What do you like best about the product?
Ability to collaborate with team members across department. I really like being able to tie contingency tasks to each other. That way, if a task gets delayed, when you change the due date, it will shift the contingent tasks
What do you dislike about the product?
At times, it was too granular and just needed a simple overview. For the power users, they put EVERYTHING in this tools which is great for them but at times, I just needed an overview.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana allows us to manage multiple projects at the same time while adjusting accordingly with setbacks
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Review them, Monday.com, and Trello. We preferred Asana
Annoying
What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to access. It seems like they went out of their way to make it easy to get in.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's confusing once you get in to it. I have the hardest time figuring out where I need to go.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Time management, mainly by using it to plan events.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Learn it before using it. Watch the tutorial videos!
Successful Usage interface, calculator and productivity
What do you like best about the product?
In our organization, we use the basic option for project management software that provides what the mid-sized teams need. None of the premium features seemed more appropriate for larger organizations. It can successfully perform many functions, such as status updates, deadlines and calendar views.
What do you dislike about the product?
The lack of any desktop applications for Asana has prevented the expansion efforts in our institution. After a year, for example, if you are accustomed to use over time, you are still trying to find all the features and best uses and therefore get good case studies to get best practice examples.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Due to the successful design of the application, the site loads quickly and this is always a plus. Project management solutions may become difficult in the future, but Asana's approach is the most flexible solution I have ever seen. The ability to add media and document files to each task item is useful for our employees who can split each task into sub tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You can consider integrating with HipChat to extend your communication access without having to upgrade to the paid version of Asana. Of course, after using it, you can at least consider getting a basic package. Asana has always been happy to try to improve the design and functionality of the site.
Asana has a lot of potential, but doesn't always deliver.
What do you like best about the product?
As a user who is assigned tasks more often than I create them, I like Asana because it is easy to see at a glance what tasks I need to complete and I can prioritize my list according to due date. It's super straight forward and makes it easy to be organized so projects don't fall through the cracks on a busy team. They also have great and easy to follow tutorials.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana has a lot of features - tasks, projects, portfolios, sections, and more. It can almost feel like they have TOO much going on. For me personally, I concentrate on tasks and the overarching projects they fall under. All the other features are unnecessary and just make the program seem cluttered.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest benefit to me is the ability for teams to easily break projects down into individual tasks and assign those tasks to team members. It makes it so everyone is on the same page and can easily find out what they have to accomplish that day, week, and month. Asana makes it simple for everyone to be organized and not forget about assignments, no matter how big or small. It helps organize teams, but each individual user can use Asana in whatever way makes sense to them.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is great, just figure out what you need it for and make it work for you. Don't get overwhelmed by the amount of different options and features.
