    E-Learning

Great, but can be a bit too complex

  • September 01, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is great for project management as it allows you to properly track any task along with who did what, when and how. It is also a very good collaboration tool for such purporses.
What do you dislike about the product?
It has a steep learning curve apart from its basic features.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana allowed each of our internal teams to have a board to track all of their current issues and how they have been handled, watch over open issues and collaborate on them. It has forced the entire mentality of the team to change from spoken word to trackable actions.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
While we are still using Asana for some purposes, we have now moved a large portion of our projects' management to daPulse. While daPulse itself suffers from a few - different - issues, it also has several distinguishing features, and ultimately, it is worth a look before making the decision.

Awesome Task Management Tool for Teams

  • August 31, 2017

What do you like best about the product?
I LOVE Asana! I've tried many task management apps and this one is by far the best. I love that you can easily create templates of tasks and tweak them to match your current multi-part task. I use this on a team of 10+ and we manage a huge portfolio of clients using it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Hm...The only thing I can think of is that I'd like the project organization to be better. We've sort of jimmy-rigged our own system to track all of our projects on the left hand side, but if we could compress things using drop downs or something that would be nice.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We're doing project management and client management with a fully virtual team. We're making sure that tasks don't fall through the cracks and having great success. I love that file management is integrated too.

What do you like best about the product?
Asana allows users to coordinate and handle projects as a team, effortlessly.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be nice for it to integrate into another calendar setup, such as outlook.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use Asana for project tracking in all departments. We are able to see what other teams are working on and pass tasks back and forth.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana teaches time management and project tracking. If you value your time, then value your employees time and provide them with the tools to manage projects and tasks.

What do you like best about the product?
I LOVE the ability to organize everything I need/want to do on both a big (project) and little (subtask) scale. Asana keeps the overwhelm at bay and prevents procrastination, because I always know how to get started and what to do next.

I wish the task order would default to due date.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management across a team - seeing who's doing what and the progress
Recommendations to others considering the product:

Nearly perfect project/product management tool

  • August 30, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana worked well as a product and project management tool at the start-up I was at. It was quite easy to create many projects that cross-referenced the same task and bring in the various assigned users as needed. The separate taxonomies of users/projects from the task itself made it quite possible to track the development of one idea as it went through the product development process, from stakeholder ideation to design to eventual development. Our team came from using Trello, and the ability to have both a board view and a task view was quite helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana as a stand-alone would be fine for most teams. There were times that I wish it was less fully featured, like Trello, to make it easier to parse and read what was going on. The simple ability to add an image to the card like Trello can would greatly help more creative teams remember what each task was. And there were also times where I wish it would be easier to grade and sort by difficulty scale and position in the product development process as an attribute of the card (e.g. "Icebox" as a status instead of having to put it in a separate list or project called Icebox), more like Jira.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To handle nearly all projects and product tasks that we currently do, Asana has been helpful to contextualize conversations to the task and bring a lot of the conversation that used to happen across email and Slack onto an archival tool. It's easy to integrate mocks from Zeplin or Invision and attach images, though a more fully featured media management tool could help. Right now, when I need to upload an updated image, I have to manually delete any old images.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Especially for small teams, Asana has what you need to get started.

What do you like best about the product?
It's a great to-do list tracker for everyone on your team! Everyone can assign different tasks and it also tracks which tasks are completed & when.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'll admit, it was a little confusing to me when I first started working with it. But after a few days, it's pretty simple!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task management is a big thing that we solved within our team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Definitely recommend testing it out for your team, especially because it's free!
