Great Project Management Software

  • August 29, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love that you are able to add tasks and subtasks and pick and choose what people you want to follow your project. I like there there is a "My Tasks" section so I can easily see what I need to do today.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that when people responded to Asana notifications from their email that it did not include their email signature and all the social media icons in their signature. It ends up cluttering up the Asana project conversation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
This helps keep our marketing department organized and on track. It also allows us to keep all conversation and proofs regarding a project in one place so I'm not having to dig through old emails.

Asana, The tool we use for event management

  • August 29, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a free, complete solution to manage teams. It makes easy to collaborate with multiple people to plan, organize, keep track the tasks and projects. Most of the time we use it for event management projects. And it has mobile apps and Chrome extension to make it more productive. Asana has apps to connect with Microsoft teams, Dropbox, Google drive and many other favorite services. It's a great solution to manage all these services in a team work space.
What do you dislike about the product?
Actually, I am quite confused and feel bad about the dashboard interface of Asana. It looks bit messed up. The new team members also take a lot of time to be familiar with Asana's user interface.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
As a media company, we have to take part event management as the event hosting or a partner. Asana gives plays a big role as the team management software of the events we manage. Asana takes the responsibility of the communication and task management part of the event in a very organized way.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is a good solution for event management and other organizational works.

I like that it can help me stay organized with the projects that my staff is working on and I can see once they have completed an assignment. I can also assign 1 project to multiple people when many of us are working on the same thing.
What do you dislike about the product?
Take a little while to get used to the system and didn't find it user friendly at first.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps my team and I to stay organized, keep deadlines, and helps me keep track of how long it takes someone to accomplish a project. Great way to measure productivity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Find a tutorial to view before use. I feel like I'm not using it to its full potential.

What do you like best about the product?
I like the web based tool that allows me to share projects with others or schedule them to keep my plans in order.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't always want to be so granular in my plans and the tool is less useful for big picture plans I just want to keep track of.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am the project girl! I dream of the possibilities and like to see them to fruition. It allows me to prioritize plans and keep track of ideas that might be sidelined for the time being.

Very neat tool for keeping todos under the radar

What do you like best about the product?
I like most the easy to use interface, and the fact that tasks can be easily visible and shared, from desktop to mobile - even in the free version.
What do you dislike about the product?
The free version has basic features, but this is enough if you are under 15 persons and have basic needs.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a multi-location sales & marketing team and use Asana to keep the main planned tasks (demos, etc.) under the radar, very practical to use during an online weekly meeting.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It is useful in a small setup / small teams.

    Non-Profit Organization Management

Great user interface, easy to use

What do you like best about the product?
I love the design of Asana most - it makes it fun to work in and makes me feel both 'trendy' and organized.
What do you dislike about the product?
It takes a little bit of time to get used to the different characteristics, and is not initially intuitive. But once you play with it for a little while, it is enjoyable to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management across multiple geographies and time zones. Great to know where folks stand without having to check in with them separately - especially when there is a time difference.

Takes Some Time to Get used To, But Once You Do, It's Irreplaceable.

  • August 23, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The user interface for Asana is really best feature as far as I am concerned. Each tab/clickable object is clearly labeled and in a logical place, which is especially helpful when training people that are first time users of project management software.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are a few features that take some time getting used to when you are first getting started. For example, it may sound simple but I learned the hard way that pressing enter in the comment section would post the comment, rather than skip to the next paragraph. This was a minor inconvenience that was akin to hitting send too early on a text or email, but nonetheless, it was frustrating until I figured out how to change it in the settings.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
At my place of business, virtually every project has shared responsibilities between departments and teams. So Asana has been an extremely valuable tool in keeping track of who is doing what, and when internal deadlines are approaching. The number of emails and check-in conversations this tool has replaced is worth the cost alone.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is becoming a very competitive space but I am confident in saying that Asana is a quality project management tool that would be a great fit for virtually any industry. The price point, at least for a company of my size, is fair and comparable to the competition. I really like the user interface and they have invested a significant amount of time and resources making the experience enjoyable and easy on the eyes.
