Good Project Management Solution

  • July 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I think the boards format is excellent. It allows me and other teams to organize their projects their way while other teams assign tasks over to them.
What do you dislike about the product?
In order to assign a task to another team you need to be a member. After 15 members you need to upgrade each team to a plan. That seems punitive when I only need to assign a task. Teams should just be those people who work on the project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use it for marketing project management. It works well enough. We complete campaigns and interface with our designers in our remote offices.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Let the users trial it, not leadership. They will be the ones who need to understand its elements and whether it works for your company needs.

Keeps me (and my team) organized

  • July 31, 2017

What do you like best about the product?
Communicating with team members without clogging up my e-mail. You can attach files, and add quick notes, which automatically notifies those that are included on the project or task.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is more user error, but for this software to be successful, everyone on the team or involved in the project must be on board. Sometimes the e-mail alerts get a little repetitive, and I prefer the notifications on my phone, but this may just be a personal preference.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It helps me (and my team) hold ourselves accountable and also keeps an organized and easily accessed record of all of our projects and steps completed.

What do you like best about the product?
Great platform for keeping track of ongoing department projects/assignments. You're able to see who has been assigned what and when tasks have been completed.
What do you dislike about the product?
This is a great product, but it is one more for me to keep track of.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use to help track projects and activities discussed in weekly departmental meetings.

Great tool for tracking team activities

  • July 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Full transparency of activities of all your team members. Ability to assign tasks to others.
What do you dislike about the product?
The full overview of all activities is not that great, would be great if you could map specific deliverables and milestones in addition to individual activities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping overview of progress of a project and or team

Keeping Up With Your Stuff for Dumbies

  • July 31, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
How simple and straight-forward Asana is. You have a task. You can have subtasks. You can have categories for your tasks. You can have different tasks for different teams. You get emailed when a task is about to be due or is overdue. It's like there's no way you could mess this up.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not really anything. Could Asana do my tasks for me? Could their app take up less space on my phone? It's overall a great tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The "forgetting a very small task" problem is now almost non-existent. Sometimes my boss will have a task as simple and small as 'hey go get this book for me from downstairs' and if I don't do it right that second, I might forget. But it takes her two seconds to add that as a task for me to complete that day, so when I check Asana before I leave it reminds me! Easy.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Do it!!

Good collaboration tool

  • July 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
We use it primarily for marketing initiatives and I like how tasks are assigned and can flow into a full team effort.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing that I dislike at the moment.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We use this tool to collaborate on future documents being made available for the public and is used in it's separate environment so not to get bogged down on the day to day workflow of our jobs.

Best Task Manager Availible

  • July 31, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is great for both individuals and teams. You can track the progress of any project you are working on using the easiest UI I've ever touched. I suggest Asana to everyone I know.
What do you dislike about the product?
I actually can't really think of anything that Asana does wrong, and I'm only typing here to meet the word minimum. I've used both the paid and free version and both are fantastic. No tricks or micro transactions. I love them.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm a big project person. I like to see all levels of a process, and I need to know which steps are getting ignore. Asana is great for this whether I'm working alone or with a team.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
You might as well just try it. Asana has a mobile app as well that is a fantastic companion. I will point out that I use Mindly as well as a starting point, but I no longer return to Trello as Asana's boards are much better.

Modern Software Tool

  • July 31, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the interface of the product. Its great for mobile meeting and keep track of projects. It is very easy to use. I was able to learn quickly how to use the product with little training.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be hard to share things on the software. Also it can be hard to share between groups on the app. Sometimes it can be hard to find things and you might not be able to find things you uploaded. I had trouble searching for file using the app.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Its great for working with people on the road or people who work from home. It also because you can plan conferences see the different moving pieces need to make the conference possible. You can also track what other people on other teams are doing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make it easier to find flies and share different formats.

Useful for Marketing Teams

  • July 31, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana allows for cross departmental collaboration through projects. I like that I can assign duties to those beyond my team and still hold them accountable on a project (like blog contributions, PR, and promotional timelines). The interface is clean, easy to use, and customizable.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish that Asana were able to show a single person's scale as it pertains to projects. For example, at what point am I getting more tasks than I can complete? How can I justify to leadership that I need to grow my team or reprioritize duties? To try and track this I've created a standalone project in Asana that I put all of my weekly tasks into. As they're completed I can see the 'progress' of projects listed vs. completed. So far I'm getting by, but I'd like to take it a step further and track those projects by type without creating new project lists.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm learning to manage the marketing department with Asana. I'm experimenting with tracking which types of tasks occur most in a role and when it's reached maximum capacity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Other task management tools on the market are free. If you're looking to implement Asana, experiment with those tools, find what you like about them or what's missing. Use that experience to shape your implementation with Asana.
