Asana is helpful but clunky.
What do you like best about the product?
Being able to pass tasks from one team member to another is helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
My biggest complaint is the lack of clear transparency. The interface doesn't clearly show how a task has been passed around--it's just in subtle, small grey text. I'd prefer a visual diagram of what's going on. For instance, I'd like each task have a diagram showing who created it, how it's been passed around, and what has been done or said about it along the way.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It mitigates emails and centralizes tasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I'd try out the other options as well, like MS Planner. I'm not sold on Asana. It's awkward. But so is MS Planner.
Clean, Smooth, Productive Interface
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a great platform for teams to have a synchronized and well-laid out platform to assign and complete different tasks. What I like best about Asana is its organizational structure. It provides a simple and streamlined way to create tasks under specific topics and gives a wide range of options for each task such as notes, assignments, comments, and alerts.
What do you dislike about the product?
What I dislike about Asana/What I think can be most improved is its calendar feature. It would be much more efficient if the calendar were able to sync with Apple or Google Cal so that the events are able to merge with more commonly used calendars for users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
For me, I used Asana for two major projects. First, as a Captain of a Dance Team, I used Asana to organize logistical tasks and set timelines for certain events, such as applications for competitions, timeline to learn certain choreography, etc. Second, I used Asana as Co-Founder of a non-profit, where I used the capabilities of Asana to better understand the long term timeline for the organization and make sure that certain tasks are completed in order for larger goals to be reached. I think the benefit I realized through this process is how Asana makes it easy to breakdown larger goals into small more realizable aspects that we can reach step-by-step.
super cute and fun
What do you like best about the product?
it is easy to use and access to track what point in the process a project is in.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wouldn't used this more multitask and huge projects. better as a use to sign a part of a project to a specific person.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
task management and making sure nothing slips through the cracks
Great for Small Offices
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is really easy to use and very intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
It might just be the way my boss has it set up but I wish I got email reminders if a task is coming to a due date, or if the due date has passed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We would put our clients "on hold" while they completed a specific task such as see a doctor. Before Asana, our clients would just kind of get lost in the shuffle and no one would follow up. Now we have a centralized place to list our clients on hold, why they are on hold, expected dates of their task completion, and a date at which we have to follow up. As a result, we are losing less business by keeping track of our clients, and our clients feel they are truly cared for because they get a follow up call and anyone they talk to knows what is going on in their case.

Great software for groups that share responsibility for tasks.
'Do yourself a favor and use this!!
What do you like best about the product?
Everything. Literally everything. I first used this program when I worked for a company out of Australia. I was in the USA. We had been using email, skype, and all this other stuff. We came across Asana and oh my word did it make life easier! We were able to assign projects, upload files, add people in, and you could set email reminders as needed or desired.
What do you dislike about the product?
At first it was a little weird to change an owner of a task. They fixed that problem though. I honestly have no complaints about this program. It seriously saved me a ton of time and saved my email inbox from being flooded.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Emails were filling up faster than we could go through them. My boss would send me a project and then send 20 other emails clarifying, adding things on, sending additional info as she thought of it. With Asana they are able to assign me a task and then update that task as needed. I was able to adjust my settings so I did NOT get an email each time they made a change to a new project. That way I could just go look once everything was setup and begin my project. I was able to upload files or work done and not worry that it got lost in their email. They could go to any project and look and see what I had completed.

Just give it a try. Don't cancel anything you use now, just add this to your routine. I promise you will end up loving it.
Client relations & marketing associate who's been loving Asana for 2 years.
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is very user-friendly. It's easy to move things around, make adjustments, and all of the functions work smoothly. Nothing is clunky.
What do you dislike about the product?
The Asana team is always improving their product & introducing cool new features. I don't have anything that I dislike about it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am a client relations coordinator, so I''m always managing projects, timelines and inter-departmental tasks. Before Asana, I wasn't using any type of system to keep track of all of these tasks. There was so much that was missed, and it got really messy. I don't miss anything now that I use Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Use tags! They help with organization and you can search by a specific tag, if you're ever looking for a certain task.
Excellent Collaborative PM Tool
What do you like best about the product?
The ability to easily create, assign and prioritise tasks for a project, as well as being able to create subtasks and mark dependencies is very helpful.
The conversations view allows basic email tracking to log communications with clients, which is incredibly helpful. And although still basic, the Timeline view gives a good overview of a gantt chart view.

What do you dislike about the product?
Reporting is quite weak, your currently can't report on subtasks which are important to how we manage our current projects.

All our companies Projects are managed through Asana. This allows us to organise and plan out our current a future workloads. It also allows us to easily provide customers with updates based on the progress of their project and any tasks outstanding.
We have multiple projects that follow the same process, with a lot of duplicate tasks and a few specific to that project. We can use the template feature to recreate these projects and update the specific tasks as necessary.
The integration with Instagantt is also very helpful allowing us to update Asana timelines and view them in a Gantt chart, and calculate individual or team workloads.

Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is a great tool even if just used at a basic level. However there is a lot of added benefit from spending time learning all the additional features that can be used and turn it into a very powerful project management tool, such as task dependencies, recurring tasks, sharing tasks between multiple projects etc.
A great piece of webware for those looking to plan a project.
What do you like best about the product?
The ease of use for the product is fantastic, it is really easy to get started adding tasks to projects. The mobile apps also allow you to easily manage your tasks on the go as well. I also like the way that you are allowed to structure your projects; you can create tasks that are dependant on other tasks in order to determine how long a certain project will take based on its dependancies. I also love the dashboard features of the project, as it allows you to see a quick overview of how your projects are coming along
What do you dislike about the product?
One problem for me was how focused Asana was on task management. Some competitors like Airtable and Coda allow much more functionality on top of their database platform such as adding in time trackers. But if just task management is what you're looking for, Asana is one of the best.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I was using Asana personally to manage my business projects. Asana is a fantastic, quick way to see what I need done, and keeping track of what has been done.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I think the Gantt functionality that Asana is implementing will be a great boon for people looking for a project management tool. However, it does not come in the free version.
Project Management Tool
What do you like best about the product?
Easy Platform to use and a great way to manage projects, events etc. Minimize the use of email and a great way to communicate with your team.
What do you dislike about the product?
I have not had any dislikes so far using this platform.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Minimizing emails, a great way to connect with your team, simplifying processes.
Good way to assign tasks, track workflow
What do you like best about the product?
I love the ease of use even without specific training; it's easy to organize tasks into larger projects, set internal deadlines for tasks, assign them, etc. It's incredibly intuitive.
What do you dislike about the product?
Wish there were levels of permissions that we could set for interns, junior employees, etc -- currently it's all or nothing; an intern can archive or delete tasks without permission from a manager. The ability to set certain roles would be a huge improvement.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps increase our productivity and helps us track progress on multiple projects at once -- this is of utmost importance in a fundraising and communications setting where there are constantly follow-up tasks to complete.
