Great Tool to Keep up with Projects

  • March 30, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really enjoy the ability to easily create tasks and organize them into various projects. Then with the click of a button, I can assign somebody to the task, set a due date, and make notes about the project. Being able to upload attachments directly to the task as well is very beneficial.
What do you dislike about the product?
Being that it is very easy to add and close out tasks, sometimes I've accidentally "checked" off a task before it was done, and it's sometimes difficult to go back and find it (although possible).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is a great project management tool to keep workers accountable. A weekly update is emailed with highlights and tasks to be completed. I like being able to comment directly in the task and keeping a pulse on everything going on in the project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Get your team to buy-in to the software and actually use it. Sometimes it can be difficult if not everybody is updating their projects regularly. Remind them that if they are working on something, that they should throw it into Asana too so that you can keep up with the progress.

Asana has a long way to go

What do you like best about the product?
You can create tasks and assign them to people. There's also a chat function where you can mark people with @ so they will be notified.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's just not very intuitive. It's slow to load. There are too many tabs. When you comment on a task and attach a file, the file is always at the top instead of next to the latest comment. If there are too many comments to display, they collapse and you can only see the most recent ones. I wish you could just scroll without having to expand/collapse. When you get an email when someone mentioned you, the preview of the task is always cut off so it's not helpful to even have a preview.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Looking for a task management software that's not focused on software engineering.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would not recommend Asana.

    Marketing and Advertising

Provides a very clear picture

What do you like best about the product?
I like the overall project views - sortable in many ways, most usefully (for me) by due date. Also, the platform is very visually appearing and the ability to assign team members to tasks and subtasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I haven't run into any problems using Asana yet.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are keeping track of a major development project, including tasks both technical and marketing in nature.

What do you like best about the product?
It's easy to set up, get projects going, and add collaborators
What do you dislike about the product?
I've had some not-so-savvy clients have trouble with the emails that are sent to notify them of new items or changes to a project.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project Management and client communication have become easier with Asana.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is a breeze to use and is very intuitive to set up.

Simple, beautiful way to stay on top of your workflow

What do you like best about the product?
I love the design & UI and how simple it is to use. Bright colors makes for easy organization and a pleasant, upbeat "feeling" when staring at the things you need to do still.
What do you dislike about the product?
The mobile app was weak when I first started using it. They've definitely made some improvements over the last year or so, but there's still plenty of room for improvement. I'm actually in the process of moving away from Asana because of CRM integration complications and not being able to view Gantt charts.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Staying organized and on top of projects and tasks is extremely simple.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great overall solution. Much better from a task standpoint than tools like Trello or 17hats in my opinion.

Project Management, Quick and Easy.

What do you like best about the product?
The array of features are one of the things i like most, everything is at your fingertips. You can easily do tasks with or without a whole entire project, the option to communication via email to the threads is also very helpful.
What do you dislike about the product?
I really haven't run into anything that I dislike about the software, the features that it doesn't have because of the pay tier are worth paying for in my opinion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
In the past I've struggled with maintaining order once i've hit a threshold of projects at once, asana gave me the features i wanted from basecamp at a price that I can't beat, FREE.

What do you like best about the product?
Tracking, organizing and searching through multiple projects in one cohesive platform. It saves me from wasting tons of time searching notes, emails etc., to remember who wanted what.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit too robust. Adoption has been very difficult among my organization. Not always intuitive and a bit daunting to new users.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Saves me tons of time tracking all the threads of multiple projects. Deadlines keep projects tracking and the multiple user conversations keep everyone informed, which has been particularly useful with staff distributed in various locales.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The onboarding is the most difficult process. Adoption has been reluctant with the result that we continue to use multiple tools to communicate, although I rely heavily on Asana. Even after more than a year, I don't use, much less know all the features available, but it's highly doubtful I could wean colleagues off their Outlook Calendars to use Asana's instead. So...if you don't have the buy-in off the top, or tech-savvy colleagues, it could be a struggle getting widespread adoption.

Easy to use!

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
What I like best about asana is it is easy to use, easy to assign tasks and know that tasks are being completed in a timely manner.
What do you dislike about the product?
There is nothing at this time that I dislike about ASANA because it is so easy to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The problems I am solving with asana is account ability, not knowing when events are and when tasks are to be completed. The benefits that I have realized is that more tasks are being completed in a more timely manner.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is a great tool to get more organized, hold people accountable for tasks and great tool for meetings !

What do you like best about the product?
Simple to use, nothing new to learn when starting to plan your projects
What do you dislike about the product?
When you add a lot of tasks it tends to get cluttered and it's not so easy to see the whole picture
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Coordinating with team mates
Recommendations to others considering the product:
try deleting previous tasks to reduce clutter
