Team work in one platform

  • February 02, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
An intuitive way of grouping up complex tasks and being sure that everyone is working in the same direction.
Improved our overall cohesion during complex tasks and helped us achieve our goals. Been using this software for 4 months and I am absolutely loving it.
What do you dislike about the product?
Email bombardment when a lot of tasks are being assigned and done at the same time
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organising 1 large event and we are working more effectively thanks to Assana. W e made major efficiency gains in the planning stage and task assignation also. Everyone knows where to go and when to hand in their work. It is as clear as it gets.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great software that should definitely be considered by your business. Really helpful and easy to use

Don't Hire a Project Manager..

  • February 01, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
All your project management solutions are on this one web app. You can create projects and view your tasks lists based on due dates. You can easily tag people and check off when a task or project is completed. Uploading files is no problem and the UX/UI is nice/clean.
What do you dislike about the product?
If you have a big team it's going to cost $$$. Sometimes you can get trapped in the worm hole of check off tasks all day. Not much to hate on Asana. I really like it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We currently don't have a project manager on our team, so this has helped organize personal project and team projects. With Asana we don't need to hire a PM, so in theory purchasing Asana would be a cheaper investment then hiring a PM.

Collaboration is Key

What do you like best about the product?
It's super easy to assign tasks between team members so everyone knows what they need to do. Email notifications are sent to team members so nothing gets missed. This is a great platform for small teams working on a budget.
What do you dislike about the product?
This tool is for internal use only. I wouldn't use it to share and assign clients unless I knew them personally.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Gives one platform for everyone to access what they need to do and when it gets done. Make communication clear so less mistakes are made and less deadlines missed.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is a straight forward system. If you're looking for a single platform that solves all of your management needs, this isn't it. If you're looking for a platform to manage projects and delegate tasks on a budget, Asana is great.

Great project management tool

  • January 31, 2017

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to organize complex projects so that each person only has to focus on their part of the project while still being able to see the big picture and what else is happening, has happened, and will happen on a project. Being able to log in and look at my list of tasks organized by due date keeps me on track with the many different projects our team has going on.
What do you dislike about the product?
It would be helpful to have better control over items that go on the calendar without creating tasks. Sometime I want to make the rest of the team aware of something going on without assigning a task to someone.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management. Trying to organize projects and assign tasks to people using Google Docs was not working. Now that all team members can log in and see exactly what they are responsible for across all projects has saved us time and increased efficiency.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Take some time to figure out how you are going to organize your projects and make sure someone is responsible for assigning tasks.

Almost everything we need

What do you like best about the product?
I love that it's real-time and task-based. I think it's easy to use and sync with my calendar and other file storage systems like Google Drive. I'm also a big fan of the design of the interface and the fact that it's free for our small non-profit to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
My staff has trouble using it because there are fields that should be filled out but that aren't required. For example, we use Asana for monthly reporting to the Executive Director. While I can prompt staff to fill out this project/task, they can't always see it if I haven't added them as "followers." Sometimes I forget because I'm not prompted by the system to name followers. Generally I think the design is easy to use, but it must not be the case for staff less experienced with project management systems.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management, monthly accomplishment tracking, and website article editing and posting
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Make sure all staff are sufficiently trained and comfortable working with the software. If they are, this tool will be immensely useful for the organization.

Excellent Tool for Project Management that Appeals to Left & Right-Brainers

  • January 31, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ability to: provide visualizations for project status (dashboards to track progress), organize project tasks at various levels (Projects have tasks, each task can have sub-tasks, and more), export projects/status into Excel, integrate with Google Drive, and easily communicate with others (ability to tag, add people to conversations).
What do you dislike about the product?
Nothing much that I've disliked strongly. Sometimes, I feel they could improve their customization abilities when it comes to exporting information into Excel files.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management and organization has drastically improved. Also great for enforcing Google Drive use.

This tool was useful to our team projects.

What do you like best about the product?
I liked the design. It isn't too difficult to navigate through to get to the information needed.
What do you dislike about the product?
There weren't enough specialty options for us as a rapidly growing company.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were able to keep tasks completed during the time needed for clients and were able to incorporate with employees easily.

Truly excellent project management software

  • January 30, 2017

What do you like best about the product?
Asana includes just about every thoughtful tool you might need for collaborative task and project management. Our company uses it for huge projects and tiny tasks, from individual to-do lists to multi-year objectives.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish it sync'd as well with Gmail as G-tasks does. Being able to instantly convert an email to a task (with an automatic link to the email) and to view those tasks in a condensed format would be great. I tried using Zapier for that but it was too slow and didn't handle conversation threads well enough to be useful.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Our entire engineering roadmap is captured in Asana; we've streamlined everything about how we create, prioritize, assign, and execute our plans.

Great interface, but lacks usability

  • January 30, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana has a beautiful interface and design. Each page was artfully designed and the transitions are fluid, giving it a very unique feel and environment.
What do you dislike about the product?
I am afraid Asana can be a bit confusing when moving from one team to another. In addition to that, it's organization of tasks, who their assigned to, and how they're displayed are not exceptionally intuitive.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My organization expands four separate campuses around our metro. This makes collaboration difficult, and we had hoped Asana would alleviate some of those problems. Unfortunately, we did not find Asana to be more useful than simply scheduling and communicating through Microsoft Outlook.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
In order to be successful with Asana, it's imperative to spend enough time becoming familiar with the program. In addition, there must be a total buy-in. For my department, only a few of us liked it, resulting in too few individuals using it, making it useless for our purposes.

Project Management

  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Lots of great features
Free or affordable pricing
What do you dislike about the product?
Too complicated to get stetup - it is a huge time commitment on the front-end!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are a team of 10 and needed a system to keep our group in constant communication without a flood of emails. We are now more cohesive.
