Great for Basic Task & Project Management

  • January 24, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the intuitive interface and "it just works" simplicity of Asana. If you think you should be able to do something (copy & paste, tag a person/task/project/attachment etc) it is possible. Asana is well thought-out and usable on both desktop and in their mobile app.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are basic features that are not included. Gantt charts (and the associated start dates) and dependencies are the two big ones that are not included, in my opinion.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Basic organization in my department was the main hurdle, and Asana handles that with ease.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider if you'd be willing to pay for Asana. The free version is very capable, but stuff like administration rights and rudimentary task dependencies are behind a per-user pay wall.

Great Task Management Program

  • January 24, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like that I can organize tasks and projects so well. You can have tasks, and subtasks, and sub-sub-tasks, and so on. You can have as many projects as you want as well. I can also have several companies and my own organizational space.

I also love that you can have private tasks on company pages as well. I can add things that I need to do for a certain company, but don't want my team to see. I appreciate that.

I love that there is a calendar integrated into the system and that we can assign tasks to certain people.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like that I cannot combine my companies on my personal organizational space. I wish I could see ALL my tasks for all the clients I work for.

I also do not like that there is not a team chat area. You can comment on items, but here needs to be a chat box for us to chat whenever we need to.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I'm solving the problems of tasks needing to be done on time and in a complete way with Asana. Things don't get overlooked and my clients appreciate that. The benefits are huge because it lets my clients trust in me.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Give it a try! It's free so you might as well. Use it for personal tasks first, then introduce it to your company. It looks confusing, but stick with it!

Simple, beautiful, and affordable way to collaborate on projects and organize your life!

  • January 24, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana continues to push the envelope on features and functionality, but even more than either is their focus on productivity, and with that, UX. Asana is brilliantly fast with countless shortcuts to help you get more done each day.

The application allows for teams to collaborate, and organize projects and tasks down to the sub-task level without losing assignment, timing, and tracking functionality.
What do you dislike about the product?
At this time, happy with features as they exist. I'd imagine that, if using Asana throughout my entire organization, there are tools or workflows that larger teams might benefit from. For my current team of 3, there is nothing more I'd ask for.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
To-do's and joint collaboration on projects.

Asana review

  • January 24, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I like the overall functionality and the fact that when due dates are changed each affected party gets an email with new dates. It is also nice because you can log directly into the platform from the reminder emails. Overall a great program.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes knowing if your messages have been read is a bit awkward. For instance, if I leave a message on a task I am not informed if the other party has seen the message, so I usually send a separate email to the person to follow-up and make sure they saw the original message.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am using this software with a company in another country so that way when we are both working on projects we get reminders and due dates for when each of us need to be done with our respective parts.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I do recommend this software to others because it will meet your requirements and it is much easier to use than others.

What do you dislike about the product?

Product development - benefits for collaboration among many levels of engineering functions, as well as managers.

What do you like best about the product?
I have used Asana for my onboarding process. It was a great platform to track the progress of my assignments. I liked that I had a clear description for each task.
What do you dislike about the product?
At the beginning I sometimes got confused with the user interface.

Simple and effective

  • January 24, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The ease of assigning tasks to my team as well as the ability to see their progress. The progress tab keeps me up to date with how many tasks are complete and how many still remain in a very easy to access interface.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish I could assign tasks and projects to multiple people. Some projects require more than one team member and I would like to be able to reflect that in the project. Currently I can only assign the project or task to a single member and they manage additional tasks.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We did not have a good project management solution for our team before using Asana. I have been able to track all of our projects much more thoroughly which has allowed me to keep upper management and other teams up to date on progress.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try the software first and if it meets your requirements you can move to the paid version. The free version works very well for a small team so you can get a good feel for the product before investing your money.

Project Management Tool

  • January 24, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Really easy to collaborate and assign. My favorite feature is that you can continue to add subtasks to tasks and to subtasks.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a feature that would allow a list to be formatted and reproduced. ie the same 5-10 bullet points needed for a repetitive project to be copied for new projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Project management and task assignment. Asana makes it easier to break down and delegate a project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I have also used Wunderlist and Trello and I would recommend asana over both of these tools. It is more intuitive to use and you get the satisfaction of checking off tasks.

2017 Review of Asana

  • January 24, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I primarily use Asana for project management, campaign management & event planning.
I like the visual to do list that is easy to share with co-workers.
I like the due date reminders.
I also like that I can assign tasks to colleagues
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes the webpage resets which is sometimes frustrating when I'm in the middle of a workflow.
When in the calendar view, I would like to hover over a task and see the notes, rather than have to keep opening up each item.
Because it is cloud-based, there can sometimes be a delay/lag for screens to load
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were previously having project /time management
issues - using Asana on a daily basis has definitely improved this
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Fairly good, perhaps also consider trello
Would like to see maybe more apps

Great tool...IF your team is on board and using it

  • January 24, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Central place for task management, including due dates, notes, and individual assignments.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's rather large and cumbersome to get around, especially for those who don't access or use it often. If not regularly utilized by the whole team, it is more of a hindrance to actual productivity. Checking and populating Asana ends up taking more time than simply doing the task or sending a quick email.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Standard logistics and program/event planning and management. Benefits of using Asana were slim - again, due to lack of unified approach to usage.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Before diving in, consider implementation across your team. Are they tech savvy and tech-minded? Will they check Asana regularly for assignments and goals? If not, this may not be the way to go.
