It has vastly improved the flow of communication for our team

  • October 19, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
being able to assign tasks to various members. This allows you to give them a physical list of what they are responsible for instead of there being confusion over who is doing what, as well as a visual reminder in there to do list.
What do you dislike about the product?
That subtasks do not automatically disappear when completed the way tasks do. It can get very cluttered very quickly
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Open and constant communication between teams that are spread over multiple locations. We can all be in the loop with what is going on in one place, as opposed to a bunch of emails sprinkled throughout our inbox. All of the related information on an issue is in one spot, in writing.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When first using, I highly recommend a team training on using the software so that everyone is on the same page. It will be very intuitive for some people, but others will struggle and will need some guidance. So long as everyone understands how to use it, and you make allowance for a few weeks to learn efficiency, this software is amazing. I love being able to work from my phone, and their mobile app allows me to do that easily.

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is super easy to use and I love all the individual projects so I can focus on one thing at a time. But I love being able to see everything going on in my business through My Tasks and Calendar.
What do you dislike about the product?
Not much really. I'm a big fan of Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It's super easy to collaborate and work with my team since we aren't local to one another. Since using Asana, I've been able to stay on task and accomplish so much more throughout my work day.

An excellent project management tool for home and work

  • October 19, 2017
  • Review verified by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Versatility, delightful in UX, templates
What do you dislike about the product?
Alerts, tons of emails. Unsure on fixing
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of them? Goodness, Asana was a new tool for me when i entered my org and had never seen anything like it. While it was a sharp learning curve, it turned out to be indispensable as a tool and now necessary as part of my work process. My partner and I have even started using it at home to track chores and accountability.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Those alerts drive me bonkers and they end up being hard to manage and track. I would love desktop push notifications but my boss asks me to use Slack to send files else she gets an email with every file i upload. Maybe change it to an email when something's been uploaded to a task per day?

Optimizing work flow in manufacturing + food service with Asana

  • October 19, 2017
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Freedom to make it work for your purpose, it's truly customizable to suit your project.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a way to test drive the premium features, the program is intuitive but it's tough to sign up for more without seeing how you'll use it since this is a very customizable tool.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We've automated small daily tasks & weekly tasks to optimize our leadership time investment with Asana across 3 teams in various functions of our chocolate making & retail business. I don't need to ask where we're at on the days work for our coffeehouse or manufacturing flow to build turnaround times for shipments - I see it on Asana. We've also used it to communicate more seamlessly between teams & share information. Even from my phone if I'm taking sometime out of the Factory! It's fantastic for those with multiple businesses, long hours, & keeping track of who completed what.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Learn what functions are available & mold it to suit your project. It took about a month or so for me to really get it right using trial & error for what work flow met our needs, for example I thought repeating tasks would be really useful for everything at first - turns out some things I wanted to build specifically for the week's projects while others I passed off completely to automation. I also learned that using the attachment to task option is really useful for those repeating tasks that just need to be done well occasionally, I can even make a little tutorial video & link it in.
