  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
User interface is very friendly. Easy to navigate and laid out in a very organizational type of way.
What do you dislike about the product?
The reports section was not always accurate and did not lay out my tasks that I had completed.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Long term project organization and assigning tasks to everyone on our team so there is no confusion about who needs to do what by a certain time.

Asana is one of the simplest task management softwares out there, yet it has extreme complexity.

  • April 20, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is simple. But it allows you to go into more depth with custom fields and projects. Within a single project you can have multiple custom fields. Essentially, planning for a big event, website launch, office move, or anything else can be easily organized. And once this is done, task management for the week is done within minutes. We also use Scrum in Asana. I cannot go into depth here, but Scrum is a system for helping run your company.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is very laggy and slow at times. This is due to the fact that Asana is one of the largest task management softwares out there, and they sometimes have outages (like 1% of the time). But, nonetheless, it would be nice to see the system create a completely native OSx and Application. This would blow me out of the water.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Planning at our company used to be cumbersome. Now we take a week and plan out the quarter. And we use a system called Sprints to plan every Monday for the entire week. Asana is flexible enough to incorporate these systems.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
This is the best task management software out there. It is flexible enough to fit into any industry.

Simple and easy to use yet powerful

  • April 19, 2018

What do you like best about the product?
I can get signed in and get to work. It's a simple solution to use yet fits several needs.
What do you dislike about the product?
To get the most value from it you do need to get your team using it as well. Nothing against Asana but if others on your team don't use it then it's just a task manager and could be easily replaced by another solution.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Task management and requests.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It's a great platform for the team. If it's just for you as an individual it's probably overkill.

Good software for managing team projects

  • April 19, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana has so great features (honestly it has SO MANY feature im not sure I even utilize them all, but I really like that it allows multiple projects with multiple team members. I also like that you can tag team members in task under comment. Overall it is very helpful in keeping track of everything.
What do you dislike about the product?
Sometimes it is overwhelming to use because it has so many features. Not for someone wanting something some to manage a couple projects.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allow easy communication across teams in regards to multiple projects, and it keeps everything under one platform. Helping eliminate a "data silo" situation.

Simple but effective task-management

  • April 18, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I really like using this with my coworkers to create to-do lists for upcoming events. It lets us easily delegate the little tasks in a simple way, without a long email chain or long meetings discussing or confusion about who's taken care of what. The layout is very simple but effective. I also really like that the free version has all the basic features you need :)
What do you dislike about the product?
The screen when you first log in can look a little "busy" and overwhelming! Due date notifications are not ideal, and the emails the software sends out can be slightly confusing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The benefits are definitely recognized in the amount of time saved on the little tasks (that are still necessary). It's nice knowing exactly who's taking care of each little task and it can be marked off when done, so it saves a step in following up on each task via email or in person.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Note that the free version only works for a team of up to like, 15 people (maybe that has since changed). I have a small office, so that's no problem, but you will need to get the paid version in a larger office.

Extremely User-Friendly

  • April 18, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use Asana in a team of 6 and it couldn't have worked better! We were able to keep our own to-do lists but also collaborate and comment on fellow team members'. It was also very straightforward and user-friendly. I could instinctually find where a button would be instead of getting lost like other project management platforms.
What do you dislike about the product?
There's isn't too much that I disliked about Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are able to collaborate better and stay more organized. Files wouldn't get lost since they would all be uploaded to one project or user, etc.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would definitely tell you to try it out for at least a month. Give your team time to adjust and learn all it's capabilities. Be sure to get a thorough walkthrough before you make any decisions.

Actually fun to use

  • April 18, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The organizational structure of project tasks is to-the-point and helps you to easily plan work. The unique themes and fun animations that are prevalent throughout the app make it a joy to use rather than a chore. The tasks and their descriptions store history so you can track changes to project specs.
What do you dislike about the product?
There isn't really much to dislike about Asana. The application is easy to use and there isn't much you can't do with its current capabilities. One striking limitation when compared to a tool like JIRA is lack of full-fledged support for ticketing-like workflows (i.e., attributing tasks to application versions, attaching extra files, etc.).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana helps with the everyday problem of planning large projects/applications. You are essentially forced to break down projects into detailed task descriptions and provide points / rating for them. This simple rubric helps you to divide work and forecast time to completion.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you're looking for a simple, easy-to-use project-planning application, Asana is a great first stop. It has a intuitive look and feel (shortcuts are a bit obscure) and you can quickly get started and onboard a whole team to get into using Asana.

Asana is my lifeblood

  • April 17, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana keeps me accountable. For so long I struggled balancing simple to-do lists with more complex projects that require team collaboration and multiple step processes. Asana fixes that by having a super easy to use system that is good from the most basic reminders to the most complex team projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
There are some basic features that I wish it had - a better ability to change project formats, and a more intuitive way to take advantage of premium features. I also feel like the dashboard has some great potential but is lacking in follow through and reporting capabilities.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The biggest one is keeping our team on the same page. We’re always in the loop with what each other is working on and that makes it far easier to be effective in our efforts across departments.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Trail oh and a sauna are the closest competitors that I can think of in the space. Try them both out, for your business you may find one is better than the other.

Asana Review

  • April 17, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
2 things about Asana actually. First is the ability to create "project boards" and second the ability to collaborate through the system. It's very helpful to keep a record of all communication related to a project including attachments and images.
What do you dislike about the product?
I think that the reporting could be a little better. I wish that there was Gantt Chart capabilities since that's what our team is used to seeing for project management and keeping track of project progress.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping up with fairly complex projects with multiple stakeholders. For us as an e-commerce company selling a physical product, we use Asana "boards" or projects for all of our new product additions. Individuals from all of the functional areas of our company participate in products additions and Asana helps us make sure everything gets done.
