Lots of features for a busy team.

What do you like best about the product?
I like that everything my team has going on gets recorded in this software. It gets really stressful wondering where a project is, or if I assigned it, or if the person got the assignment - with Asana and everyone going to the same place to collaborate, nothing gets missed.
What do you dislike about the product?
The learning curve how everyone should use it can get a little confusing. It would be great to have several tutorials on how to best organize work assignments within Asana.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Confusion around assignments and project status are greatly reduced because of using Asana with my team. The fact that I can not only assign projects and tasks, but also maintain a dialogue with everyone involved in that project helps a lot.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are looking to simplify and de-stress your project management with multiple employees/IC's, then Asana is a great place to start.

Robust Tool to Meet Your Organization Needs

  • February 15, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana offers the tools and functions for any willing user to organize their projects in a manner that works best for them. It offers ability to organize tasks either as the traditional hierarchy list or as a board (ie, Trello) which provides flexibility. Better yet, Asana allows you to collaborate with other users creating opportunity to clearly communicate project progress.
What do you dislike about the product?
Differing organization methods can conflict when multiple users are using Asana due to Asana offering such flexibility in how you organize. It's best to have defined how Asana should be used per project to reach Asana's full potential. Also, Asana is only powerful if all users check and utilize Asana. If members stop updating Asana or checking for notifications, Asana starts to lose effectiveness.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
My company runs several projects at the same time. Asana allows us to create a designated section for each project. This prevents information overload for those not affiliated with specific projects and also helps keep tasks separated so that there is not confusion between projects.

Actionability made easy with Asana.

  • February 15, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is wonderful for collaborating on projects with other members, teams, and departments. It's the first thing I check every morning, before my email even. My department uses it especially well, and since the day I started using it, the goals and expectations for our work has always been clear and easily discussable. As a general rule of life, I believe actionability is what enables things to get done, and Asana only highlights that truth.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish the notification system was more noticeable. There is an "Inbox" that highlights what you've been assigned recently or any conversations you've been following or tagged in, but I think it would be nice to have a push notification system that actively notified you, without forcing you to switch to a new page to check these updates. I think this would prevent our team from missing less conversations when they get lost in our inbox. Ideally, I wish Asana could integrate with something like Slack, that has a great push notification system for real-time messaging within a team. If that was all possible within one platform, that would be absolutely perfect.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I've organized the "My Tasks" section into specific sections that make more sense for me, such as "Daily Tasks", "Quick Tasks", and "Long Term Goals". I love that I can visually sort my tasks by deadline, how long it would take to complete, and priority. I can understand the scope of projects easily with the use of projects, sections, tasks, and subtasks.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Consider if your team is willing to make the most of Asana's abilities, which means committing to communicating and delegating tasks as often as possible on the platform. Like many other services, it only becomes more useful as more of your team uses it. Asana is better for planning the day's work or longer and is not as strong in terms of real-time communication across teams and individuals. It may need to be supplemented by a messaging service that has a better notification system.

Asana helps my team get our work done!

  • February 15, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana allows for amazing sharing of task lists, files, processes, and organizes a team's work load virtually. You almost never have to have meetings!
What do you dislike about the product?
Only complaint is the overdue task emails!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We avoid having to meet because we can see what people are completing, and can move projects along virtually in a seamless way. We can keep our process lists and tasks in one place which helps a ton when we get new employees.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is worth a little effort in learning the bells and whistles. It will save you and your team a ton of time. So you have more time to produce and less time spent talking about tasks.

Great Task Management Tool for Team

  • February 13, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
The number one thing I love about Asana is its integration with Wufoo. This has helped the team capture the information we need for projects in an orderly way and while having it all centralized in Asana.

Asana is also the tool we use for our marketing calendar. We plan all of our content that way.
What do you dislike about the product?
Subtasks always seem to get lost. It's not clear what the primary project is. It's frustrating because it's easy to miss a task that way. Task that don't have deadlines also get lost in the system. Asana should send reminder emails about those once in a while as well.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Managing all the team's tasks in one place while providing transparency to the entire organization. The new dashboard feature has been super helpful for clarity in planning massive undertakings.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana has a very clear product roadmap.

Great task-management client

  • February 13, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Asana is a great resource for keeping track of your own tasks, knowing what else you have coming up, and seeing what your other team-members' capacities are. Everything you have currently and coming up is out in front of you, and you can sort by due date, project, completion, etc. If you want to keep up with what a coworker is working on, you can add yourself as a follower to get notifications every time the task is modified or updated.
What do you dislike about the product?
The only drawback for Asana that I encountered was the frequency of the emails and notifications I received in the early going. Once I discovered how to modify my notification settings I found the experience to be much more enjoyable.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Organizing tasks into projects and sorting by due date is a great way to keep track of your own capacity or that of your coworkers/subordinates. There will never be any confusion regarding what someone has to work on. The Harvest time-tracking integration is particularly helpful for keeping track of how much time goes into each task, and it all links back to the specific task through harvest.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
The only problem I encountered with Asana was the number of notifications I received before I discovered how to reduce the frequency of them. After making this change Asana has been a great user experience top to bottom. A fun tidbit: if you go into settings and select the "Tab-B" option and then hit those keys a few dozen times, it's a fun little easter egg!

Asana does a goob job in task tracking, needs improvements for scalability

  • February 13, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I liked the ease to track tasks either individually or as a group, and get a quick update on progress. We used Asana to track tasks within a 4 months software release.
What do you dislike about the product?
Our tasks were based on a template so we would have liked to copy a group of tasks, set the start date and let Asana recalculate the due dates. That would have made our lives a lot easier.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We were using Asana to track progress within our extended teams as related to deliverables linked to a software release, or our yearly conference.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are dates driven, use a MS project type software, if you just need to track tasks, Asana was easier to use and setup, and best of all, free. In our company, the use of Asana was limited to Product Management and Product Marketing, but it helped us keep track of joint deliverables.

Great Tool for Project Management

  • February 09, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I love the collaborative portion of Asana. You are able to communicate with project contributors with questions/details of the project, updates on the status of a project and more. The due date feature is also helpful for time management and delegation.
What do you dislike about the product?
I wish there was a week at a glance view versus the full month view. This would help even more with time management and project preparation.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I am solving project delegation issues, saving time from multiple emails back and forth and keeping on top of projects thanks to due date reminders and notifications.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great resource available for designers, teams and more. The free price point can't be beat as well. Collaboration is a key benefit to this tool.

Track your work faster than ever.

  • February 08, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
Much easy to visualize our work. I like that I can transfer work via multiple stages faster, easily, and wonderfully. I can simply create any project a success. To map out every step and organize all the details of our work in one apsce.
What do you dislike about the product?
I'm glad that now we can work with this working tools.Which is really very clear and working well. We don't have any problem with it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We can easily make all of the stuff in one place. More open and clear way to bring emails, files. The better way to share results with our group and see how work is progressing to see what’s on track and what needs consideration for a better result.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
With this software, you can create teams and projects individual to create a safe place for delicate work. Also, it is wonderful to designate management to control your organization’s usage and install safety controls so you feel sure that your information is secure.

Great for organization!

  • February 07, 2018
  • Review provided by G2

What do you like best about the product?
I use it at home for a personal to do list, but I often use it for work for certain projects to keep track of what I've been doing internally for that specific project. Nice to keep it on mobile but if you're going for the computer I believe it's only 4.99 on the App Store. It's an overall great tool to use for any business!
What do you dislike about the product?
How un-customizable it is. There's nothing I would change in terms of the coding or anything, it runs great, I just would change the price and just the way it looks. Maybe on mobile put in notifications to remind you of things that you forgot or just as a general thing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeps me on track in both ways of knowing what projects I need to do but also what projects need to be done in terms of the actual project.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Try it out for free on mobile first, look at other softwares especially, and just try to explore all kinds of options just to make sure Asana is the perfect choice for your company!
