Great for project management
What do you like best about the product?
One of the best features of Asana is that the free account allows unlimited tasks and projects for up to 15 people. I have the free account and it is perfect to use for tracking my personal professional or home tasks. It's also extremely easy to use.
What do you dislike about the product?
Asana is more task oriented, if you are looking for project oriented such as tracking budgets, issues, etc., this is not the right software to use.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
I love that I am able to create a group and add people to it, this is a great function for simple to-do projects. Both personally and professionally I am able to track my progress (tasks) on what I am working on.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is a great, free product available to anyone. If you are looking for an easy to use task tracking software, this is the way to go. You can integrate other products as well, I use the Chrome extension for Asana and I connected my Google Drive.
Better Than Most
What do you like best about the product?
Overall I like the layout and color scheme. I prefer Asana to some of the other alternatives out there. I recommend starting with the free version it's a great way to get familiar with everything and you may find it suits your needs just fine.
Asana has tons of features and can really help you and your team stay on track. I like the project Timeline feature which creates an excellent view of the tasks and team members working on them. Creating and assigning new tasks is a breeze. You can also very quickly tell which team member is supposed to be doing what. Assigning a due date will also send automatic reminders to the team member involved. There are also many different view modes to fit your company's specific needs.

What do you dislike about the product?
The interface is not as intuitive as some other options. Some team members struggled to navigate their way around the platform. The slack integration doesn't work. It shows all alerts. Wish you could do more complex sorting for projects such as sort by priority and then date. It won't let you do this. The Gantt Chart can be done a little bit better UI wise, it is too big to follow it properly.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Making assign tasks and creating projects easier. The way you can divide the project in tasks and create boards with the tasks make it very easy to visualise the entire project, it really helps to project managers and developers to make the communication easier.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Great, especially for smaller business, I find it a bit annoying to do scrum tho.
Asana is the best Company and project managment tool
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is great to organize a comapny and its projects. Great use of Multiable organizations and projects within them. Task tracking is great with comments and task statuses. Ability to switch a project into a board instead of a list is also a massive plus. The intergration with outside tools like git and slack is also a very big plus.
What do you dislike about the product?
It can be over complecated and very daunting to new users. If you start a Asana organization from scratch you wont have this problem. But if you are introduced to a slack that has been used for years its can take alot of time to get used to it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Asana is there to solve core issues of our company. We use it for clients ptojects to scope out the work and assign tasks. We also use it to keep track of company polices and accounting. Basically it can store and record every thing you need to do in a company and can be used by every single employee.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
No mater what size company you are then Asana is definatly worth it. Finding a tool that keep track of every inch of you business for projects to polices to recruitment is no easy task. But Asana does that perfectly and I higly recommend it. You do not need the paid version unless you want to have massive teams but in general they allow 15 users per team so its quite big.
Ideal project management for you!!!!
What do you like best about the product?
Asana has great things that make you really love working on it. One of those things is the ease of use. You can add as many tasks as you want, edit them, set the dates, scope, and description of the task, among others. On the other hand, you can not only have them individually but you can add several people to the same project through their emails, and in that way allow establish responsibility for the tasks of the project and send information about the task to those responsible for the tasks, noting how the progress of their work has been.
What do you dislike about the product?
One of the things that I do not like is that at the beginning it is not so easy to use. This facility is taken with experience, but once you know how to use it is super easy. Another thing that I do not like is the fact that the email you receive about the progress of the tasks has very little information about the task. I think I should have the name of the project and the dates set for it at least.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
you really learn to be much more organized with your projects, even with personal things that can become much easier if organized by asana
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend it easily. No matter if you are a student or you are the CEO of a company because there you can easily establish a schedule of how things will happen with respect to the project.
Asasna lets you wade in the shollow end until you're ready to dive into the depths
What do you like best about the product?
Asana is super easy to get started with. It is great for newly forming startups (both companies and teams) because there is a lot of value in shallow understanding of the features, but when you get using the system more heavily there is additional depth.
There are a tone of opportunities for customization and those are easy to understand when you're ready.

What do you dislike about the product?
The customization can also work to make the system more complex. Be wary of adding too many fields as they become burdensome.
When we wanted o have full fidelity of information between Jira and Asana, that was problematic. We also need to have better reporting and the ability to roll up information at the project and program levels.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We needed something very fast. Something we didn't have to train on and something that was reasonable in terms of expense. We were used it to deploy our solution to customers using a Kan ban on Asana. It worked great on an individual customer basis.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
Asana is great if you don't have really intense requirements. There is a ton of integration through apps in their marketplace as well as the larger marketplace. If Asana doesn't have the app, chances are the other side does. It is much better when they both contribute and have a shared integration story.
When think Asana doesn't quite hit they mark, they have a team ready and willing to help you understand how you can accomplish something in the tool. If they don't do it, they were very helpful in terms of recommendations.

Ease of Use, getting things done
What do you like best about the product?
The simplicity of the software. It is easy to navigate through and the search function is spectacular. The notification system is something that really helped Users get tasks finished at the end of the day. The User interface is obviously designed with the consumer in mind. I am able to easily collaborate with every member on my team : Enigneers, CEO, Sales, Marketing, HR, and etc.
What do you dislike about the product?
I dislike how we cant change the font size sometimes. It is frustrating because sometimes we need to emphasize something or sometimes we need to go out of or way to bring attention to another thing.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
We are more efficiently hitting and solving our business objectives. Day by day tasks are more clear and overall it seems likes employees are satisfied in terms with their OKR's. The benefits all and all come down to a injection of productivity.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Asana to everybody.
Simple but effective adhoc task management, flexible
What do you like best about the product?
When I was first introduced to Kanban a number of years ago, there wasn't any really easy to use software out there that I liked, until I was introduced to Asana. The notifications, project visualizations and overall UI is superb. They also continue to advance the product, some of the newer project management features and the things on the road map are particularly exciting.
What do you dislike about the product?
For non technical people who are used to working in email, it can be a difficult learning curve, but if you stick with it (them), they get the hang as soon as the concept clicks for them. I'd like to see more templates made available for starting projects with boards, there are a few good ones now, but there could be so many more.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Getting work tasks, especially adhoc tasks, out of email and into a trackable system so that everyone on the team knows what is done, what is being worked on and what isn't. It makes the whole team more efficient. It also helps with alignment and communications broadly.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
If you are unfamiliar with the concept of boards, I suggest reviewing all the videos they have that explain some of the kanban concepts as well as how different types of people use it. You might also be interested in going to Youtube and searching for how to get the most out of kanban or how to get the most out of Asana. There are a lot of videos and user reviews out there beyond this site and some fantastic guides.
The best out there - but still more room to grow.
What do you like best about the product?
Simple - allows hierarchical viewing.
Easy Attach and Easy send via email

What do you dislike about the product?
Over a year later and card hard Card and list view on the same project.
Needs - a more complex search - allow "OR" etc.

What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Keeping track of Projects
Giving assignments and tracking progress
Giving assignments and tracking progress
Recommendations to others considering the product:
When you test software like this you need to go "all-in" for a month or so - you can't "play around" with it .. you need to manage everything with it. If you are in a big group - then make a smaller beta group first
Great Project Management But Still Relying On Emails
What do you like best about the product?
What I like is how easy it is to setup and manage projects across a team of people. Asana makes it fun for the user as well with their integrations and themes. It is more engaging than a lot of other task management softwares
What do you dislike about the product?
I really do wish they would implement desktop notifications. One of the biggest things for me is to stay out of my email but that is really the only way to be notified from Asana. Sure, you could just live in the program but I’m using different applications at the same time. Could use the phone notifications but I already get enough of them!
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
First and foremost is a centralized locations for task management for all employees, as well as an easy platform to quickly share relevant documents on the go
Asana helps me organize projects and make lists
What do you like best about the product?
I like that you can share lists with team members and make comments and notes about each task. It is also helpful to assign tasks to different people, it makes it easy to work with a team. I like how I can separate and colour code my projects.
What do you dislike about the product?
I don't like the way the side bar is designed, it makes it difficult to find projects. I also found the free version very limited.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
It allows me to collaborate with others on projects in an organized manner. It is easy to share and invite others to join. I like using the app that helps me stay organized when I am away from my desk.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
I would recommend Asana to anyone wanting to better organize their projects. I like that there is an app that you can use on the go. And it is good for collaborating with others.
